Questions for ESPN's Adam Schefter (1 Viewer)

How is Jim Johnson doing?

If he isn't able to coach this year, what impact will that have on the Eagles D?

How will the departure of Todd Haley impact the Cards?

I've heard reports that the Wade Phillips led D is outshining Jason Garrett's O early on. It seems that Garrett's O took a step back last year. If it continues to be lackluster after being so brilliant in 2007, what does that mean to his future as Cowboys head coach or as a head coach period. If Wade turns around what has been a dismal D, what will that mean for his future?

How rough or smooth will the Packers switch to the 3-4 be? If it is a rough transition, what will that mean for the O? Will the added pressure put on the O hurt Aaron Rodgers or does it set him up for some gaudy stats?

What is going on with the Colts after Manning seemed upset about the coaching changes? Will it be business as usual for Manning and the Colts, or do you expect some struggles for the Colts offense in what is becoming a tough division.

What does Delhomme's contract extension mean to you? After a lackluster year coming off the surgery it was somewhat of a surprise for the Panthers to give him a 5-year extension. Did the Panthers see his arm taking a full 2-years to recover and that they believe the old Jake will be back this year?

Adam,

What the hell were the Chiefs thinking with that Cassel deal? I mean 1 friggin season? Bowe ain't know Moss you know. Who's running that group, Matt Millen?

Feel free to soften this if you feel the need...

Adam how did you go from hungry beat reporter for one team to one of (the most) counted on 'insider' in the business? It seems if Shefter says it, everybody takes it as gold....

Adam,Which personal trait or traits of a successful sports reporter are most important? Intelligence, tenacity, sense of humor, ability to network/maintain contacts etc. -> in order to do what you do, and succeed as you have, what has helped you get over the top both in professional terms and also in terms of relating to the players, agents, and coaches in the NFL? Thanks,Mark Wimer
Lots of good ones. But I love this one. Different from the same stuff he's always asked. :thumbup:J

Who was the biggest off-season acquisition in his opinion? And how will that acquisition help said team more than any other acquisition.
Sorry, but questions about actually playing the game are not up Adam's alley. While he is great with breaking news and insider tidbits, he has proven to know very little about the game itself.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has been a friend of Footballguys for a long time. We've been a fan and friend of Adam's for even longer. From his time in Denver to the NFL Network now to ESPN.

I'm going to do an interview with Adam in the next few days and thought I'd throw out here the opportunity for you guys to offer some questions for Adam. He's as plugged in as anyone I know of in the NFL.

Just list them here in this thread.

Thanks.

J
Joe,So this interview is coming up soon?

How soon will it be posted to the site?

Will it just be available for subscribers as a $ on the homepage, or will it also appear here on the boards in the NFL Interviews forum?

Since there are not many and most of them are really very good, will you ask ALL the ?'s from this thread? How selective will you be? Will you only ask a few that YOU like?

Rody

Adam, can you shed some light on ESPN's stance on Roethlisberger and why it took them so long to report anything at all and why they aren't jumping all over this "story" like they would have it if it would have another player accused in civil court.......say T.O., or Pacman? What exactly did the "Do Not Report" memo say? Does this type of "selective" news reporting by the network make him feel good or bad about moving to ESPN? Are you having second thoughts?

Good question. Also - will Goodell suspend Roethlisberger before he gets a chance to defend himself in court ala Pacman. When is this interview?

It's already posted. Adam seemed slightly miffed with the amount of questions.

I want a serious injury report on Marques Colston's knee, and Antonio Gates' and Darren McFadden's turf toes (all three of their damn toes!). All three players are on my fantasy team and I expect huge things from them. Any lingering injury concerns with any of them that should have me considering trying to trade them away?? Thanks Adam!
