Quick Auction Question (1 Viewer)

How do you nominate players in an auction?

  • Each team nominates (1-12) then start over (1-12)

  • Each team nominates (1-12) then back in serpentine (12-1)

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • Other (Please Explain)

I fail to see how it would really matter.
There is, or should be, some strategy in the nomination process. A serpentine process makes it interesting in my opinion because you can nominate a player you don't want first to get the money out on that player and then come back a couple of "nominations" later with a player that you really do like at that same position and hope to get him a little cheaper.

I didn't vote, but what we do at my draft is just go around in a circle. So I suppose 1-12, 1-12, etc.

There is some strategy to naming off players, but often a lot of guys don't do it. I think that strategy of naming off guys is kind of overrated. People overthink the draft process too much.

Of the guys on my team, I only named off 4 of them (Vick, T. Green, C. Johnson, A. Johnson- LT, Benson, Rodgers kept... we have a salary cap keeper thing).

You don't want to give away who you want, but I think it's pretty clear who wants a player once 3 players are bidding for said player...

Ours generally starts with one just a picked person in the room and moves left to right. Not very scientific but I believe the nomination portion is an important strategy.
