Quick, grab Vinny! (1 Viewer)

From CBS:

Testaverde could start Sunday Vinny Testaverde, QB NENews: Carolina Panthers QB David Carr missed practice for a second straight day Thursday with a sore back, increasing the chances 43-year-old Vinny Testaverde could start on Sunday at Arizona. Testaverde, signed on Wednesday, and undrafted rookie Matt Moore, signed just over a month ago, took all the snaps in practice for the banged-up Panthers. Coach John Fox wouldn't say which QB he'd use if Carr can't play Sunday.Analysis: Man, could the situation in Carolina be getting any worse? First they lose Jake Delhomme for the year, and now his replacement, Carr, is injured, which means a 43-year-old or a rookie could start at QB in Week 6. Unless your QB situation is ridiculously dire, do not even think about picking up Testaverde.
Steve Smith owners have to be loving this.

I would be afraid of taking an old QB with wobbly knees; what if he gets injured? That is why I grabbed up Kurt Warner and will start him this week...

I don't think you have to be that quick to grab Vinny any more!

And here is what CBS says under Matt Moore:
FANTASY ANALYSIS Moore is likely to be Fox's choice at QB on Sunday if Carr can't go, but none of these QBs should be starting in even the deepest of Fantasy leagues, so hopefully you have a better option at the position.

what a nightmare - I think Smith is getting a one-week vacation in favor of Braylon Edwards to see how this all shakes out.
Do you only start one WR? Braylon is almost a must start.
Keeper league - Have SSmith and Housh w/Braylon as WR3. Not a bad spot to be in...
That is a good spot to be in. Still, I would have had Braylon in over Smith the minute Jake went down.

If you are serious, then I would like to know why. Why would anyone be looking forward to a soon-to-be-44-year-old QB who hasn't played football in a year and hasn't played regularly in 3 years?
Sarcasm meter down?

Not an issue until now since Housh was on the bye so I played them both. But either way, I think in hindsight it's easy to say that, but Smith is such a dynamic player that it's really hard to bench him and risk missing out on a potential 2TD 120 yard game, even with Carr as QB, against a creampuff defense like New Orleans. Had to give him one more shot, plus he wasn't even that bad last week.Didn't mean to make the thread about my team, so commencing general discussion about how Vinny and Carr both suck...

You have to give the guy credit. It's amazing that with all the young athletes out there every year someone always ends up calling Vinny. The guy is 43 :lmao:

Because he's not David Carr.
