The reason I ask is that I am watching CNBC and they are talking about how women are underrepresented and underpaid in business, but great women businessmen don't immediately come to mind. Nor do great women inventors.

To me, invention and new ideas is what makes business leap forward. Do women have what it takes to be great inventors? A need to wander and explore new ideas, a need to crush competition, long dreary hours of trial and error, shutting oneself off from society for long periods of time until the invention comes to fruition, etc.

I can only think of the Spanx inventor Sara Blakely.

You don't think that opportunities presented to men and not woman, regarding jobs and education over the last 100+ years don't play into this?

This is the only one I could think of as well

Marie Curie.

Marie Pasteur.

Ruth Wakefield.

Adm. Grace Murray Hopper.

Let me know how I did.
Curie came to mind but I didn't think of her as an inventor, more of a scientist.

I thought the relevant Pasteur was Louis, I might be wrong.

Never heard of the other two.

I stink at this category, or the category stinks. Or both.
