Quick question: Kerry Rhodes or Madieu Williams (1 Viewer)

Both are talented but I would go with Rhodes - from what I've read in other threads - training camp reports, look for Rovers observations - Rhodes is playing great.

I go with Rhodes.

Pretty close.

I think Williams owners are going to be pretty happy this year. He's around the ball as much as ever and shows no Bryan-Scott-post-injury fear of hitting.

Rhodes has the edge in tackles, Williams has the edge in big plays. Pick 'em. I've got them 5 points apart in my projections.

Guess it Rhodes then. Thanks for the advice guys. This will be my idp squad (10-teamer, start 4 LB and 3 DB)

LB: D. Edwards

LB: K. Bulluck

LB: Tatupu

LB: D. Ryans

DB: A. Wilson

DB: G. Wilson

DB: E. Reed

BN: Pierce, Rhodes

pretty sick, no? My first IDP selection was in the ninth round.

Holy ####! That might be the best defense I have ever seen.

Thanks man. I have to admit that I am feeling GREAT about this team. My only half-regret is that I couldn't get a DB/return man like McGee since return yards count, but I feel that it doesn't get much more solid than this. I actually changed my mind at the last mintue and picked Williams, thinking that since either one is going to be the beackup, I should go with more big play ability and thus higher upside.

where do i find your projections?
In my head. :D I don't do a full set of projections -- just the players I think have a chance to crack the top 60 or so at each position group -- so I'm not actively involved in posting numbers like Norton and Culcasi.Although it's not necessarily the FBG way, I'm not a big fan of doing projections for IDPs because of the bunching that occurs in the raw numbers really skews perception at times. That is, there really isn't much difference among all the replacement level players (or any tier in all honesty) and I'll often feel that a player who projects to #47 may have a much higher upside than the player who projects at #35. If you're not looking closely at the projections, you'll miss the fact that their only a few raw points apart anyway and ultimately the exact same projection in many ways.I do them as a kind of QA for my rankings. Once in awhile, a guy I may not be quite as high (or low) as I should be stands out like a sore thumb after a check of a conservative list of projections.

There are no Jets that I am aware of in any sort of trouble... either with the law or the NFL's substance abuse rules. If there were, I'm pretty sure I'd be aware of it.

I have Rhodes over Williams, but not by a lot. For me, I am (only slightly) worried about the shoulder injury Williams had last year. That can be a chronic problem with a hitter like Williams. They are using Rhodes to blitz alot, and he is a real favorite of Mangini's. Mangini challenged him to be the D leader.... which says something with a guy like Vilma on the team. I could see Rhodes with 6 or more sacks, and 4 INT's. He is playing the role that Rodney Harrisson and Polamalu do in their respective 3-4 defenses, although he's listed as a FS.

thanks Rovers I will definitely keep an eye on him. There have been a rash of recent add/drops and no one has picked him up. I'd be satisfied with either. I think Williams looked pretty strong in the monday night game which led me to bgrab him instead. First sign of trouble and he is dropped for Rhodes. There's also the fact that the Jets offense is not going to be very good and Rhodes could see more time on the field.
