I can't believe I keep losing games. I have now lost games by 1, 4, 5, and 9 points. I have studs up and down my roster. And yet the losses are mounting.

My team:

qb McNabb, Vick

rb Alexander, Gore, Chester Taylor, T Jones, Bush

wr Steve Smith, Holt, Roy Williams, Colston, Antonio Bryant

k J Brown

d Philly, Giants, Dallas

Note: There are 4 owners, and we each have an NFC and an AFC team. I thought my NFC team would destroy the league.

Join the club

Started out 5-0, now sitting at 5-4-1. Tied for the third playoff spot in our division (6 per, 3 advance)

Second highest scoring team in the league as well

:wall: :wall: :wall:

If it makes you feel better, the 8th place team in my 10-teamer is the second highest scorer but is currently 3-7. Last week he faced me and would have demolished any other team in the league, but lost.

(On a bragging note... I'm the highest scoring team :D )

Its times like these that make me realize how benificial a venting thread would be. Just one place, a dedicated thread, where all of the venters can join together and tell their tales of woe.

Why can't this happen?

I'm in the club. Highest points, 4 - 6 record. And the sad part is, I have LT on my team, and I probably won't make the playoffs. i'm in 7th, 1 game out of 6.

Why so many board nazis around here?

Some people don't spend all day making sure their thread or reply is in the appropriate thread, board, etc....

Relax already

And what is the shirt icon? And I am sure I will get it for this post.....

Last time I checked it only takes about 0.25 seconds to see what forum I'm in. A far cry from "all day".
Guess your special then Johhny and a fast SOBBut you prove my point, calling me out on my use of words
Speaking of fast, you'd think the original poster would catch on after 3.5 years

You see this is the point where LUCK comes in in FF..you have it or the other does..makes no difference who's on your team and how many points you scores..any player can get hurt at any given time..bottom line THE FINAL STATS! :banned:

If only the NFL worked just like Fantasy Football then things would be great. For example, this past week San Diego scored 49 points which is great and they beat every other team making them go 31-0 for the week. Thus, Cincinnati scored 41 points and beat every one except for San Diego making their record 30-1 for the week. This is how the NFL should do their records too.

I've got an idea!

lets call Roger Goodell and convince him that head to head scoring sucks. Well just let the team with the #1 offense play the team with the number 1 defense for the superbowl every year.

Ridiculous!!!

The Eagles have the number 1 offense in the NFL and they are 5-4.

Miami has the number 2 defense and they are 3-6!

It's not about total points. I'd never play in a league with total points. Way too much strategy goes out the window. Bye weeks become irrelevant, consistent production out of players loses its value. All you'd need is for a few guys on your team to hit some Huge numbers, a la Chad Johnson Sunday, a few times a season to carry you to victory.

H2H is the only way to compete in sports or fantasy football IMO.

There's one key difference between fantasy football and real football. In real football the players are actually playing EACH OTHER. The Chargers had to get past the Bengals defense (or lack thereof) in order to score. In real football a head-to-head scoring system makes sense, because the team plays HEAD TO HEAD against the other team. In fantasy football, the teams don't really meet. My defense can't stop my opponent from scoring. A head-to-head scoring system brings in an uncecessary element of luck, which I don't like when there's money on the line. In both of our leagues we give prize money for total points and for head-to-head. I prefer the league that gives 80% of the money for total points and 20% for head to head.

A pretty decent solution for next season in your league is to make at least one of your wild card teams the team remaining with the most points scored regardless of record.
