R.Bush's trade value (1 Viewer)

Rounders

Footballguy
I have found my team sitting pretty well with RBs but needing some help with WRs. R.Bush is a good trade piece for my team, but I'm having a hard time gauging his value. Is he worth a top 20 WR? A top 30 WR? What WRs would you be willing to part with if you got R.Bush in return?

Considering he is absolutly horrible and has no purpose on the field except for special teams.....a big fat zero!

in standard league scoring he is currently ranked 26, one spot behind Steven Jackson and four ahead of Clinton Portis. The guy is the only healthy RB on the team (other than a dude who was inactive last week). He hasn't played well at all and I 'm not much of a fan, but to say he has no value in ridiculous.

I moved Bush to a panicked Randy Moss owner. I sent Hester and Bush for Moss and Leon Washington. His value will only be known by the knowledge of the other players in your league. If they are living in the past the value is high, if they do some homework and see his real value (due to past injuries) then you will be lucky to get a top 20 WR.

No way you'll get a top-20 WR, or top-20 anything, unless it's a PPR maybe.

The WRs I could see going for Bush would be the WR3 types like Mason, Braylon, Evans, Holt, Cotchery, Royal, etc.

For RBs: maybe Donald Brown, Leon Washington, M Bush, D Ward.

So did u see where Brees was yelling at him on the sideline for not doing his job, which was as easy as turning around and catching the ball! But instead twice he got hit in the back with the ball on a swing pass, and I find it hard to belive it could happen once, but twice not to be paying attention, hmmm....maybe cuz he is horrible and his only value of catching passes seems to be a problem!AGAIN HE HAS NO VALUE, WHEN A GUY NAMED LYDELL HAMILTON STARTS OVER U CUZ, CHANCES ARE U R NOT GOOD!Keep giving him passes and keep being dissappointed!I am a huge Saints fan and follower, the only people who support this guys are fans who have not realized he holds the Saints back, and his fantasy owners!FOR THE RECORD: I HATE THIS GUY AS A PLAYER!

Crazy. Bush's value is only slightly more than Leon's, so essentially it is Hester for Moss....wow. Giving up on the most talented WR in the game after one bad week...Randy had 12 catches for 141 in week 1, leading the league in reception. Just hasn't found the end zone yet....that is just crazy.

I've had Reggie Bush on the block for a few weeks now. Trying to package him with Torry Holt or Chris Henry for a better WR. Haven't gotten a sniff of interest from anyone.

AGAIN HE HAS NO VALUE, WHEN A GUY NAMED LYDELL HAMILTON STARTS OVER U CUZ, CHANCES ARE U R NOT GOOD!Keep giving him passes and keep being dissappointed!I am a huge Saints fan and follower, the only people who support this guys are fans who have not realized he holds the Saints back, and his fantasy owners!FOR THE RECORD: I HATE THIS GUY AS A PLAYER!
You can hate him all you want, but as long as he is getting targets and he still catches 60- 80 balls a year. Obviously a disappointment as a running back. Bush is good for 900 yards, 60 receptions, 6 TD's. There is value there.

Heres his stat line on the most powerful offense this year.........47 yards rushing and 1 Rushing score.....8 receptions for 97 yards, and 1 fumble! Looks a lil' like he might not have value, and that TD was a garbage score that would not have happened if there were healthy RB's!He will go down with a bumb knee soon anyways, its his tradition!

:lmao: Right, at this point, he is a known commodity. Probably safe to project a little better on the yardage totals by being in the 1,000 to 1,200 yard range for this season.Prior to this year Bush averaged 11 carries for 40 yards and 5.6 recs for 43 yards and about .5 TD's a game from LOSTwo games into the season he is at 8.5 carries for 23.5 yards and 4 recs for 48.5 yards and .5 TD's a game from LOSOwners should expect 70 - 80 combined yards and 4-5 catches a game with a TD every other week.Plug in your scoring system and value accordingly after factoring in his injury history.

It's still amazing to me that people obsess about whether Bush is or isn't a quality RB and ignore what he can provide from a fantasy perspective. In a PPR league, he is a Top 10-15 RB when healthy. That has value - quite a bit in my opinion in a PPR format. He's much less valuable in a non-PPR format. So it depends on your format. If you're in a PPR league, I would not accept anything less than a Top 20 WR (or one I believed had Top 20 potential) for Bush. In a non-PPR league, I'd consider a solid WR3 (like Driver) to be fair value.

Just did a little analysis using the historical dominator, covering the years 2006-2009 and using standard FBG scoring.

Over that time period, on a PPG basis, Bush ranks #20 amongst active RBs in non-PPR format (11.3 PPG).

In a PPR format, Bush averages 16.9 PPG, good for #9 amongst active RBs.

Both are right in line with H.K.'s projection of 70-80 yards, 4-5 receptions, and 0.5 TDs per game.

I think you are wrong here. You are a Saints fan so you get to see him more than I do I'm sure but in fantasy football, when he is healthy, he is an above average player in mos formats.

Good thing my league doesn't reward TD's in garbage time :potkettle: In PPR he's the #19 RB ahead of people like Rice, McFadden, Turner, and SJax. I know he has more value than Rice and McFadden in PPR, possibly Turner. I don't care if he's a good NFL RB or not, he's averaging 13.7 pt/game right behind Ryan Grant and Thomas Jones. If you play in a standard scoring system, he might not have a lot of value. But those 8 receptions are almost an extra 1 1/2 td's. If he's on the most powerful offense or the weakest doesn't matter. His stat line matters. Being on a stronger offense only helps his upside.

The whole backfield is injury prone. Mike Bell is injury prone, Thomas is injury prone, Bush is injury prone. For all anyone knows Bush could end up being the only one who stays healthy all year. Those who refuse to see value in Bush are basicly sticking their fingers in their ears and yelling "LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA"

Throw the first game out of the window since he missed most of the preseason. They were not going to throw him into the wolves. Your own coach said as much. In regards to the garbage TD, well, that's what Bush does` and that's why he has fantasy value. I'd look to week two as the standard more than I'd look to week one.

Oh and I forgot........That he was a professional football player!

Did anyone else see the 2 balls that hit him in the back on SWING PASSES? or was it just me?

Good PPR backs dont let that happen!

So?He's averaged 16-17 points per game in a PPR league. Should I drop him because he let two balls hit him from behind?

Well considering this is thread asking about Bush's fantasy outlook  Anyway, he's worth WR2 in PPR but you're unlikely to get that in trade due to the level of distaste most people have for him (see above).

PPR League. I felt like I hit the lottery when I was offered Michael Turner and Braylon Edwards for Bush and Schaub this week. I hit accept in about one second. I can't explain it, but the guy that runs the other team has a stalker-like man-crush for Bush.

Because everyone has Reggie love, except for us true Saint fans who see that he hurts the team in a major way!I don't see Brees yelling at Colston on Dropped balls, or Henderson, or Moore, or even Shockey!First a no namer named Pierre comes in gets the job over him, then a journeyman named Bell comes in and takes it....then they look deeper and may start Lynell over him, so why will he not get the start, and if he is so good catchin the ball in a pass first offense, why does he still not start? You all can continue to hate, but facts cant be disputed and the Saints keep looking else where for help...Its only a matter of time people, a matter of time! But what do I know, I only eat, drink, and sleep Saints football!

But how does this negate the 17 pt average in a PPR league? It doesn't. Whether you like it or not, Bush is a part of the NO game plan. Is he the best RB on the field? Maybe, maybe not. BUT, there's no denying that he has value in PPR leagues, which is pretty much what has been said in this thread. Unless Bush is hurt, he'll be involved in the passing attack.

He's not an every down back. That much is clear. I'm pretty sure that much has been clear since his rookie year. Thomas didn't take Bush's job, he took Deuce's. Reggie Bush has a defined role in a high-flying offense. Bush is a decent play in PPR leagues. Saying Bush has no value in FFL is extreme hyperbole.

I forgot, some people are not football fans....and relate everything to fantasy football!

Me too, but I'm seeing quite a lot of value out of Reggie Bush that I think you are missing. Why? Because ISTM that opposing defenses are still selling out to stop Bush, overcommiting when he goes in motion, and so on. Bush really does open up things for his teammates. It seems to be a pride thing with a lot of NFL defenders ... it seems that more guys jump on the pile when Reggie goes down. I don't see any other offensive player in the league draw quite that level of "won't-let-you-beat-me" attention.

We all recognize that Bush is not an every-down RB in this league and struggles when asked to run between the tackles and move the chains. But he has a role in a great offense and I don't see that changing barring injury. If he catches 80 passes - in a PPR league that is valuable

Why do you think he's still getting so many red zone opportunities? The coaches must still see something in him.

In a ppr I traded Bush, SSmith nyg, and Heap for Boss, SJax, and Braylon. I am thinking that SJax is better in the long run since they are playing for a new regime over there...eventually, they will start a little run where things start to click...I like Bush as a player in ppr, but his injury problems worry me, and I also don't like the fact that there are about 8 players competing for tds on that team.

What does ISTM mean? I usually know most of the acronyms, but that one escapes me.

Agreed on all fronts. The Saints are a better team with Reggie than without him (assuming this fumbling stuff doesn't continue). Its become clear he won't ever be the next big thing, but his speed and pass-catching ability will always draw attention from defenses. The guy had a lot of hype piled on him and he did dozens of commercials before proving a thing at the NFL level. As a result, it doesn't look like anyone is going to take it easy on him for a quite a while.

Reggie Bush is a classic case of having far more value to the owner, than the potential buyer.

I have him in two PPR leagues and I would not move him without getting a high quality receiver in return. In fact, based upon value alone, I am more apt to move a guy like Ronnie Brown.
