Rage Against the Machine reunion (1 Viewer)

Saw them a few times in the 90's. Chicago 96', I believe, at the Aragon Ballroom, was one of the better shows that I've ever been to.

Damn! You saw them live. I can imagine it was very different than any other show you went to, and glad to hear it was also better. I have no idea what type of crowd one would be rubbing shoulders with in the audience of one of their concerts. I'm so green to live music, even despite the fact I live in Austin. Rage has been my go-to gym headphone music. People always think I'm angry because they see my face, but have no idea what's talking to me in my headphones. I was thinking the other day, in my career I've probably listened to RATM more than any other music, probably ever. As a whole. And by career I mean lifetime. They've been on every mp3 player I have ever owned. And I only use mp3 players at the gym. So while probably averaging about 4 weekly gym sessions for the past 20 years since I started lifting/working out/whatever you want to call it - don't judge me for being that "type" of guy. I'm not some juice head gym rat. And - full disclosure - my second go-to choice for gym headphone music is Limp Bizkit. Religiously. But I've definitely listened to more Rage songs than anything else ever, with LB a close second followed by Eminem and Snoop/West Coast rap.

A while back, Nugs and I were talking about them, RATM, probably about a year or two years ago. And as he said, while I've never been personally repressed in any type of way that could compare to what RATM is raging against (so to speak), I still feel like they're speaking to me for some reason. Maybe it's because I have definitely felt alienated in life, just as I have lived life differently/untraditionally, which might be the same reason Marshall's music speaks to me so well. I don't know. But it's meaningful to me and it's real. There's nothing else like it. And I strongly disagree that they're simply "doing it for the money." Come on man. But thank you for the heads up, as I'd never even heard of Prophets of Rage before. And also, don't judge me for being a dude who logs so much gym time with an unhealthy affinity to Limp Bizkit music as well. Or DO judge me, just know that I'm not some Ed Hardy/Affliction type of person. So it could be worse. Anyway, alright. Thank you again. It's refreshing news.

Went to a RATM show The Palace probably late 90s or Early aughts I think it was in support of battle of los angles so right on the cusp

anyway we had upper level seats and right before the show this dude comes bounding in all amped up and I think he’s gonna be trouble, but he just plops down and passes out.  Halfway through the set he gets up and just starts pissing all over the place, and then dudes start throwing down on him.  My buddy tried breaking  it up but I was like “no Chris, that dude just pissed all over those guys”

Saw them with Atari Teenage Riot and Wu-Tang at Star Lake Amphitheater outside of Pittsburgh in ‘97. It ruled, top 10 concert and I’ve been to hundreds.

This is cool, but sad it took them this long to make it happen. Will be interesting to see how much they have left in the tank.

Was a big fan of them back in my angsty teenage years. Still a big fan, their music holds up all these years later. I had a chance to see them once back in the day. Was supposed to see them again when they were touring with the Beastie Boys but the show was canceled due to Mike D getting into a bike accident. Not a Motorcycle accident, GD bicycle accident. Sigh. RATM broke up shortly after that.

Hoping they make their way around my area.

Sweet.  One of my favorite bands of all time and one I'd never seen in concert.  The Prophets of Rage just aren't the same.  Welcome back, Zack!

Fun fact - I went to my first “adult” show in 1992 when the house of pain played Boston.

ok probably not worth a brag but they did have a band open up for them in this 500 person open floor “arena” that turned out being ####### awesome.

Went back and saw them play landsdown street on Halloween 1993 at avilon.  I thought I was going to die that night.

if they get back togetheim going.  End of story.
