Raiders Dream Draft - 1st Day (1 Viewer)

Moss needs to be traded PRIOR to draft day for this to occur. Please make it happen Al, for a 2nd rounder, no less!... this is a dream draft after all.

1. CJ - I'm ready to annoint him the best WR in football from day one.

2. Ryan Kalil - perfect zone blocking OL.

2a. Tank Tyler (Moss trade) - addresses the main weakness on a solid D that was able to re-sign it's best run stuffing tackle... Turdell Sands. Tank and Turd would be quite the pair of Toads in the middle of that VERY talented Raiders Defense.

3a. Lo Booker - Jordan/Rhodes/Booker with Griffith blocking are a solid RB corps for Kiffin, who is installing a high octane system that needs more parts.

3b. BPA - Trent Edwards? If he slips, I'd love to see them take him with the last pick of the day (Woodson comp pick). I see him as another Schaub type. a WCO guy who needs to be 3rd string for a couple years.

With 5 more picks on the 2nd day, LBs, TEs, and OLs can be had... along with trading picks for future higher picks in later years.

This would also require signing another FA vet QB like Carr, Culpepper, Green or even, dare I say?... Brooks? Between these bums, Walter and the rook, someone will step up or the Raiders will be addressing QB next year. But there would be a lot of offensive weapons and an improved (gulp) OLine and coaching staff.

This draft is completely possible with a little luck. And if they can get a QB to step up they could really make a big turnaround next year with that D!

I never liked Chuck. Calvin is the man... you will see. He may not be the #1 WR his first year, but by year two or three, look out.

He may very well be very good, but NO player is a lock. Too many sure thing first rounders never materialize to anoint him the next Rod Smith, much less the next Terrell Owens, much less the next Jerry Rice.On a side note, if he is as good as it appears he could be, too bad for the Raiders they won't have drafted him.

Is Marvin Harrison a lock HOFer if he is drafted by Detroit? CJ as a Raider may spend 1/2 his carer with a subpar QB killing his numbers. Great playersdo find a way to excel, but WR's Depend so much on who is throwing them the ball. CJ as a Bengal or Saint or even a Giant if Eli steps up the next 10 years, would make this a much more solid prediction.

I look forward to the August QB derby! Walter, Booty, Rattay, Alexander Wright maybe? Woo hoo!!

Sorry, I have JaMarcus on the JaBrain.

I dont see any way that the Raiders get a 2nd round pick for Moss. Not going to happen.

And the Patriots gave up what exactly for Welker? More then that and all it will do is leave the Pats hungry for a true #1 WR again.

JaMarcus is fine. Just not with the 1st pick in this draft. Pick CJ, trade to TBAY for their 1.04, 2.04, one of their QB's and draft either Russel or Quin with the 1.04. From different reports that are out there, TBAY has made it pretty clear they would do this type of trade with Detroit, so why not for the #1 and guarantee themselves CJ?Sam Bowie is all I can think of in this situation. I keep thinking and having nightmares of the Raiders pulling a TrailBlazer with this pick.

Mock all you want but it doesnt work that way. Moss does not currently have 2nd round value. Welker is much younger, cheaper and is a white version of a young Troy Brown. All of those things contributed to the Patriots trading a #2 and #7 for him.

Not mocking, replying to your "mocking" post. Not being a smart alek either. Do you seriously believe Welker is worth more then Moss? Because he's a "white version of a young Troy Brown". I know the Pats play in an area well renowned for its, um how shall we say it, lack of color blindness, but that is a ridiculous statement to make. I mean if the guy plays for a hundred years half that time at a strong WR#2 level, with a couple WR#1 years, and several WR #3/4 years, plays some defense and proves to be an iron man like Troy Brown, well then I'll be proven wrong at that point. Until then, the Pats still don't have a #1 WR and they paid a 2nd and 7th rounder for the white Troy Brown. I guarantee Brady would rather have Moss and you keep the 7th rounder to boot. That's all I'm saying. Now as far as the cheaper, I get that and that is the response I actually expected, not the white Troy Brown crap.

At worst they get a third rounder, but all that needs to happen is for two teams to get into a small bidding war and his value could easily approach the mid 2nd round.Despite now being an utter turd, Moss is still just 29 years old and still has the name to get some value. Somebody out there will think they can get a few more probowl years out of this bum. And they may be right if they can find a way to make his dumb #### more happy.

WelkerYoung, Cheap, good teammate, no baggage

Moss

30 this year, HUGE contract with big cap hit, pain in the ###, LOTS of baggage

I can see why MOSS might not have 2nd round trade value right now.

This I agree with. I think he'd be very good value for a 2nd rnd pick (especially for a team and QB like the Patriots have), but the contract is the killer.

Sometime in the next three weeks Moss will be shipped for a 2nd or 3rd rounder. It's too bad SD and KC are in the AFCW as they would be prime candidates otherwise.

Yes, Moss' baggage comes with his contract, I believe $20 milliom + over the next 2 years. Without a new contract Moss is not going anywhere.

If you really think all that will happen.... please take your medication since you obviously forgot to earlier today.

See title. DREAM draft.
Very true. But then again, other than getting a 2nd pick for Moss and then using it on Tank, the rest of the projections seem very reasonable to me.And I do think they still have a shot at getting a 2nd for Moss. The Bungles got a 2nd for Corey Dillon a few years ago when everyone thought they'd get a 3rd-5th. These big name malcontents can have more value than some people think.

hypothetical:

If the dolphins took the welker pick fromt he patriots and gave it to moss would they be really smart or really stupid?

If Moss restructured his deal, I think it could be a good move.
Wow, good perspective. Wesley Welker straight up for Randy Moss. What kind of alternate reality have we entered where many see this as lopsided against the Dolphins???Personally, I think Moss is a turd, but man on paper that looks like a GREAT deal for the fishes.

My response is more to the Moss deal. Not likely and too much to hope to get in return. I also think Kalil is a pretty good bet to go in the 1st. His stock has risen.
