Rams | Linehan discusses offensive coaches roles on gameday
Published Fri Aug 11 11:58:00 p.m. ET 2006
(KFFL) Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan called offensive plays on gameday and quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier worked with the quarterbacks. Running backs coach Wayne Moses and wide receivers coach Henry Ellard worked sideline substitutions, something the team includes in practice during the week. In the coaches booth, offensive quality control coach Randy Hanson serves as Linehan's eyes in the sky. "He basically scouts me during the games, and gives all the tendencies on the play calls and what we're running out of this personnel grouping. It's actually uncanny, the information I get. It helps me in the mix of the play calls." Offensive coordinator Greg Olson provides information on field position, the spotting of the ball, and reminders about the game plan.
