Rams needs as per NFL.com

OL, LB, WR, CB, TE

Needs Analysis: The Rams released OT Orlando Pace and WR Torry Holt, and there might be more veterans cut after the draft. There will be a very good left tackle available at the top of the draft, but you have to wonder if the Rams would take a quarterback. The team’s new defense calls for more pass rushers like new coach Steve Spagnuolo had when he was the New York Giants’ coordinator. A solid middle linebacker could move the Rams’ returning veterans, Will Witherspoon and Chris Draft, back outside.

Same as before - please post any relevant commentary - who the Rams will pick, and who they should pick etc.

This pick seems like a no brainer, the Rams take the offensive lineman on top of their draft board. Jason Smith would be the safest pick here

It's either Smith or Monroe. I think Monroe is more ready to play now while Smith probably has the higher upside. The combine vaulted Smith to this level but Monroe looked better in the actual games. I vote Monroe.

Agree but what happened to Oher? At one time he was ahead of both Smith and Monroe or am i mistaken?

Yes Oher and Andre Smith were in the conversation before the combine. But personal issues and a poor combine showing hurt both of them. That said, either one of them could still end up being the best tackle from this draft.

The funny thing is the Rams could use almost every single guy on the list. But you got to go OL because 2nd round will provide more help for the other areas than OL

I think you trade down with Denver, take both of their #1 picks and give them your first rounder...

Rams need SO much in the way of offensive and defensive playmakers that it makes sense to load up on picks...

they have so many weak areas that taking one guy at #2, combined with his lofty salary, makes no sense...

As much as I'd love to vote for Crabtree or Curry here(both studs), gotta go with what the team needs and what Spags has layed out for the team! Huge Rams fan here and I cant see them going any other direction other than OT! I can see them taking the best LB in the 2nd rd too! So they will skip Curry here and take OT(assuming Lions take Stafford). I also believe they will take a WR later in the draft and maybe still sign a veteran WR? Plus, I think L. Robinson will be a 60/70 rec guy for the Rams really soon!

Spags has already said he wants a ground and pound offense! So the ball will go plenty to S Jax!! They may even try to take a RB later (say rd 4 or 5)? There should still be good options available.

R Michael Crabtree [ 1 ] [2.78%]
 Nice to see most people are paying attention. It's OT for sure. Probably Jason Smith, but I think he'll be the 3rd best in this group behind Andre Smith and Oher.
