Well, I've felt crappy all week - stiff and sore through the neck and shoulders (and a bit into the arms) after spending all last Friday out in the cold and rain. Went for a massage last night, which helped take away a lot of the tension, but I still didn't sleep well. Hard to tell how much of this is just the normal taper madness.

I'm not feeling nervous or anxious. And I know I always feel blah before racing (exception: the fun R&R weekend). So I expect to drag to the starting line, then pop into race mode when the gun sounds.
I'll head up to G.R. in the morning. Temp on Saturday night supposed to dip to 28, then it's supposed to rise on Sunday to the high 40's. So it should be crispy cool and dry for the race. I doubt I'll have internet access through the weekend, and there's no electronic tracking. Gruecd, I'll try to call or text you my time and some brief comments midday on Sunday.
pmbrown ..2Young ...let's have a great weekend! Nut up or shut up!

If its any consolation, I feel like ### too. Folks are dropping like flies at work, got a couple of swine flu cases in my kids school district and work has been a ##### this week. In other words, it has been a typical race week. All this being said, my plan is to hitch a ride with the 8 MM or 8:15 MM pace group depending on how I feel and IF I can find them at the start. If I can kick around between them, a PR is possible. Like you stated, BRRRRRRRRR. I have altered my gear plan a bit and am now thinking tights, my running hat and gloves. They are talking wind chills in the mid 20s and crossing the bridge in to Canada makes for very windy conditions. Tri-Man, hopefully when I return from Downtown I can log on and read about a BQ. You've killed the training and I'd bet at the sound of the gun the neck stuff will disappear and it'll be ON.
pmb, enjoy!! Sounds like we're battling the same elements, no chance of letting them win.
For those without a life that woud like to track me Sunday

you are supposed to be able to click
here, click on results and they should have split information. My bib # is 11735. 1/2 marathon PR is 1:49:13, so anything under this would be a big win for me. I missed beating it by less than a minute in Chicago in August, so we'll see. If they list an "underwater mile"

this is a mile portion of the route that takes runners under the Detroit River through a tunnel from Windsor to Detroit.
