SFDuck - i'm pretty sure the 210 is only 8 hours as well. I think the 310 might jump up to 20 hours.
Maybe a stupid question but here goes - I've been wearing an IT band strap since I started running again a few months ago. I don't know if it is really doing anything but I haven't had any issues and it is only mildly annoying to wear. My question - I have a race coming up on Thursday (10k) - is it a bad idea to ditch the strap for the race? As I mentioned it isn't terribly uncomfortable to wear but it is a minor hinderance and I'd like to do as well as I can in this race.
Sure, go ahead and ditch the strap for the first time on race day. While you're at it, race day is also a great opportunity to experiment with that pair of shoes you've wanted to try out. And if you've never worn compression socks before, now is the time.
Seriously, if you've been wearing a strap all this time, it would be dumb not to wear it on race day. Races put your body under extreme stress. Don't not wear the strap unless you absolutely know that you don't need it anymore.

5 very easy miles today, with 10 on deck for tomorrow. We're not going anywhere over the 4th and the weather is supposed to be nice, so I should have no problem working in some intervals later in the week.
