Darrin signed up for a half. He may consider a full if the half goes well, but it probably won't be in February. I am also semi-planning a local half in early January.Wait a sec... did Darrin just say he's signing up for a marathon?Darrinll40 said:Steve and I have signed up for the Jax half in December, but if that goes well, and 2Y2BB does the Jax in Feb, I might try it as well. But I definitely want to get my first one half out of the way before considering others.I've got witnesses right? Way to go Darrin!
We'll be holding you to that come February...![]()

) I was doing about the same weekly mileage plus bike/swim. I PRed my 10k (38:53) and 1/2 marathon (1:32:41) back then as part of either a tri (oly) or bike-run-bike workout (rode to the race- 40m each way- and TTed back). But then there's the knee and the baby and the whole littany of PTTSs...I've got some time (a week and a half) before the expo when I sign up for the pace group- but I'd genuinely appreciate any thoughts on the matter from you guys.
While you're not running sub-4:00, you're making the races a neat experience and achieving something special with the RnR series, as attested by the medals for 'em all.
They're adding San Antonio Full/Half (inaugural race 11/2008), tho I'm not sure if it'll be included in the medal parade just yet (7th race TBD).I'll give ya the "neat" and "special" points.
. But I look at "*** ROCKSTAR SERIES ***" or "*** THE GOOFY CHALLENGE ***", and it's
! I don't know what I'm going to do once I run out of these challenges. lol I suppose I'll have to make up my own. Maybe run all the "big city" races (depending on how they fit on the calendar) in the same year -- Boston (of course, qualifying notwithstanding), Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, etc. Maybe run a race in every state during my 50th year, leading up to my birthday. Who knows. lol Gotta keep it interesting and wacky.

... the downhill mile, right?
