Last year, Cobb's value steadily rose pre-draft and then sky-rocketed after he was drafted by the Packers. He showed some flashes, but now seems buried in the depth charts in Green Bay. Jennings, Nelson, Jones, Driver, Finley......all seem to be ahead of him. As a Cobb owner, should I continue to be patient with him? It's frustrating because I feel he should be ahead of Driver and Jones at this point, but the Pack continue to bring back Driver year after year and Jones is under contract through 2013.

Is Cobb just viewed as a very good special teamer and that's all he ever will be?

It took Nelson 4 years to find a major role on the team - don't be surprised if it takes Cobb some time. A lot will depend on if Greg Jennings is re-signed.

I believe Jennings' contract is through this coming season only.Shouldn't hurt his bargaining power with all the big WR contracts signed this FA period.

Yes, Jennings is a FA after 2012. I think the Packers will resign him.So what's Cobb worth.....in terms of this year's rookie draft? I'd likely sell him for a top 5 pick, but that wouldn't happen. I'd think hard for picks 6-7. Pick 8 or later, I'd hold Cobb. Does this seem about right?

I don't agree. I think more depends on Driver. I see Cobb in more a Harvin role on there team.

You most likely drafted him late first round or early second. Why trade him for another question mark in a rookie pick?

Let his value appreciate some. Packers are not in any cap trouble so they have the luxury of keeping jones and driver, but cobb will ascend at some point in the next two seasons. Time to buy that guy is now if you can. Hes a firm hold for me

I would hold. Driver is on his last legs and Jones, while decent, has done little to earn a bigger role. While Nelson, Jennings, and Finley are clearly ahead of Cobb, Rodgers spreads the ball very effectively, giving Cobb some value. Cobb should be a solid contributor for many, many years. He may never become an elite WR but has a chance to eventually become a solid WR3 and perhaps a low end WR2.

Seems right to me. I hope to be able to use him as trade bait in one of my leagues with some Packer homers. The mid-round picks would be appealing to me if I could land Martin/Wilson/Miller, since I am weak at RB. Otherwise, I think Cobb can be in that low-end WR2 area eventually.

Rule #1 - WR (generally) take 3 years to developObservation # 1 - Cobb had a good rookie year - #16 in number of receptions, #9 in yardageQuestion #1 - exactly what did you expect with the talent in front of him?Cobb by all accounts had a fine rookies season, showing some serious ability. As the Driver ages (expect him to be cut or to re-sign at a much lower contract number), with the potential of the Packers not willing to pay Jennings the going rate next year, Cobb should be getting 50--60 recpts and 7 tds in two more years.

Yup. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over Driver (age) and Jones (ceiling isn't that high). Regardless of how it looks now, the cream will always rise to the top. Hold on to Cobb.Edit to add: i didn't realize that Cobb is only 21. Definitely a hold in dynasty.

I agree that he is a hold and that he is still solid as far as potential. But if you were counting on him to provide points for your team this year, then you might want to trade him for a less talented WR who is going to start this year. I don't want to do that because I do think he has elite potential, but I can imagine someone who is one player away from being a top contender this year doing that.

In a general sense, Jones hasn't done as well since Cobb came to town while Nelson stepped his game up. That is what the NFL is supposed to be about but with 32 teams we don't always get the competition at positions that fans should get.

Cobb was a back breaker in GB. It was hard enough for Ds to stop the rest of the Pack's weapons. He could put games out of reach with a special play.

I don't think they showed much (if any) desire to rely on Cobb.

That's next. You guys got them without Driver, Jennings was mentioned...Cobb is still super fun to watch and all, but he needs to be "nails" on every 3rd and 8 to have a huge NFL career. I imagine step two of his development is to work him into the real rotation and not just when the team is ahead or they're desperate for a big play.

I agree with many that 2013 is probably a far better FF year for Cobb but you'd have to get him now and wait.
