Randy Moss a no-show at practice... (1 Viewer)

"FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice on the lower field behind Gillette Stadium. The practice is being held in full pads, and the following players have not been spotted during the media-access portion of the session: wide receiver Jabar Gaffney, wide receiver Randy Moss, tight end Benjamin Watson, wide receiver Sam Aiken.

Reserve center/guard Dan Connolly returned to practice for the first time in a few weeks.

Later today, the Patriots will release their participation report and at that time more information should be learned about the absence of Moss.

Both Watson and Aiken missed last week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs with knee injuries. Gaffney was present in the locker room prior to practice."

Did Moss just have a dentist appointment he couldn't miss, or is there more to this? I do not believe he suffered any injury against Kansas City.

It did say media-access portion of practice, as opposed to the entire practice. I'm not sure what the rules are, but it doesn't sound that unusual for a lot of players.

happens all the time. He could be working on a one on one with a differnt coach, getting an injury taken care of, etc.

not every player is outside during the entire practice.

Do you think the other players were at the dentist too?

My first thought after seeing Moss' interview Sunday afternoon (when he was twirling his earring) was OH S#%T

Then the talk about him lobbying for Culpepper was announced, and I said to myself here we go. This is total speculation on my part, but I think the situation is extremely fragile right now. Brady is the one that set Moss straight when he got to New England. He made it clear that this was his team and Moss better get on board or get out. Now, it's not going to be long before Moss loses it. Maybe this week, maybe a few weeks down the road. Cassel will do something to set him off and Belichick and or Brady better be prepared to step in and keep him in line or Moss will become a major distraction. Brady can still be effective as a leader knee injury or not.

I'll put $100 down that says this never happens.

Night and Day difference between Oakland and NE.Moss may get frustrated, but it will never reach the level it did in Oakland.

:goodposting: Can people please stop comparing Randy Moss with TO and the like? Moss doesn't complain as long as the team wins games. He's NOT a selfish player, does NOT demand stats, and does NOT flip out for no reason. Yes, he shuts it down and takes plays off and gives up when his team is either losing the game badly or the season is a lost cause.Neither of those two will be the case for New England anytime soon.

Oh, well... if THAT's all he does.
I take anything coming from a Raider fan/ex-coach/etc with a very large grain of salt.Boo Hoo...you got Javon Walker with Moss type money now, what more could you ask for?

Hey man, I'm not condoning it and don't like that he does that stuff...but he's not a "me-first" type of player in the sense that he needs to be fed the football in order to be happy. He's perfectly happy to go out and be a decoy if that helps the team win. It's when the team starts losing that he starts losing interest. In the past, guys like TO and Chad tended to ##### and complain regardless of the team's success because they want to get theirs and be on Sportscenter, etc. Moss has always appeared perfectly content to be a part of a winning team, so long as the team is actually winning. All I was saying was that I don't think winning games is going to be a problem in New England for the foreseeable future. They aren't going to go 16-0 again, but they'll obviously remain in playoff contention with the team they've got.

He is still a dangerous receiver and could have 1 big game if they decide to just start throwing jump balls to him.
HECAN'T

OUTJUMP

ANYBODY

ANYMORE!!!

Why can't all of you see this? Do you think it never occurred to anyone on the coaching staff to just throw the ball up for grabs to Moss down the field? His injuries have taken their toll. He is nowhere NEAR his old self.

He's just "a guy" now. A guy with a horrible attitude.

Moss was voted a Team Captain by his teammates...in a team with more than a few leaders this is a good indication of where his head is with the Patriots.

That what never happens? The part where I said that he will have a blow out of some kind? Or the part that I said BB or Brady better step in? Moss will make an ### of himself at some point this season. It will most likely come after a frustrating loss. All I'm saying is that BB or Brady need to keep him in check. I believe they will, so I do not think it will become anything like it's been in the past with Moss. However, the possibility is there, and if you guys don't think it is then, well...

Yeah, you are insinuating it's a ticking time bomb that's ready to go off. I say it's nothing of the sorts. I'll put $100 that there will be no issue from him all year. You have Paypal?

The moon landing was faked and 9/11 was a Gov conspiracy too.....
