Rank the divisions (1 Viewer)

Saw a thread about the AFC West and thought this would be a good place to rank and then come back to in January to see how we did. Here is how I would rank them:

1. NFC East: Four above average teams and four above average coaches. Too bad the winner will only win ten and go on the road in the playoffs.

2. AFC North: Defending Champs, a rising star in the Bungles, an underrated Ravens squad, and an improving Browns team.

3. NFC South: Love the Panthers. Bucs and Falcons will be fighting with the NFC East for wildcard spots. Saints will score once they figure everything out but can they defend anything?

4. AFC West: Raiders will be awful this year but the rest of the division should be solid. Broncos could be the team to beat in the AFC.

5. AFC South: Colts and Jags are studs while the Titans and Texans are duds.

6. NFC West: Seahawks are defending NFC champs and the Cards did a whole lot to increase expectations. Most are mixed on the Rams and the 49ers are still off in the distance.

7. AFC East: Pats are the pats, Dolphins have big plans, while the Bills try to regroup and the Jets try to stay afloat. I think the Bills are underrated and the dolphins overrated from what I've been reading.

8. NFC North: Bears are the cream of this crop but can't possibly maintain the defensive pressure they had a year ago. Lions and Vikings are .500 teams at best and the Packers although heading in the right direction after the draft, should be no better than a year ago. Maybe worse.

Good rankingsI'd flop NFC South and ACF North.

That's pretty much how I'd have it, except maybe flip flop the NFC West and the AFC East. The NFC West is horrible right now, with only the Seahawks really being the only "good" team. The Cardinals could be on the rise with that offense, but they still have a lot to improve. The 49ers will continue to be rebuilding for another year or two at LEAST. The Rams continue to decline, but may have finally leveled off. They aren't even close to what they were a few years back. Then there's the poor, poor NFC North... my Lions are a big reason why it sucks...

I would put AFC East above NFC West but it is a close call either way. Other than that, I agree with your rankings.

Right now I think there are four strong divisions and four so-so divisions. Difference between four and five seems to me like the largest gap but the gap between the other sequential division rankings seems quite small.
