browns behind saints and eagles?! i see the saints but the iggles! please. with our receiving and rushing, and passing, we should be a top 5 team this season. i believe this due to the eagles McNabb hardly being healthy all of the last 3 years, except when he played last year.just my 2 cents!

I really like the Browns D this year with the addition of Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams. The Browns ranked #30 overall in yardage allowed and I don't think they will need to throw the ball quite as much. Granted, I also believe Stallworth is a very under-rated addition, but I see the Eagles have more total yardage......unless McNabb gets benched for Kolb.

I see MIN staying near the bottom of the top 15. Same team as last year but added a deep threat in Berrian, and Jackson should at least slightly improve this year

It was difficult leaving them (...and WAS) off the list, especially since I took a chance with SEA still cracking the Top-15. If the 1% chance of Engram holding out happens and the Hawks cannot establish a running game with JJ, Morris and Duckett, you could easily see MIN or WAS bump them from the list.

GB from 2 to off the list?
First thing I noticed. Zero faith in Rogers, huh? I tend to disagree, but to each his own.
I actually like Rogers and think he's undervalued this year. However, Favre threw for over 4100 yards last year. If you review the "projections" page for FBG's, all five contributors believe Rogers will throw for less than 3500 yards in '08.For reference, there was a 600 total yard difference between GB and the #15 offense last year year. If you deduct Favre's 4100 yards from Rogers 3500 yards, you have 600 yards. I also believe Grant will have smaller lanes as a result of Favre's absence. Green Bay's offense (...and corresponding rank) will flow thru Rogers, and I just don't think Rogers is Favre.

I'll say

1.Colts

2.Patriots

3.Steelers

4.Cowboys

5.Bengals

6.Saints

7.Broncos

8.Jaguars

9.Browns

10.Chargers

11.Eagles

12.Titans

13.Texans

14.Rams

15.Giants

I really like the (healthy) Rams call. They could easily be in the mix along with MIN, WAS and maybe even TB. Unfortunately, I would be a betting man against the Titans cracking the Top-15. Quite simply, I don't think the addition of Chris Johnson and McCareins can leap them six spots, especially with defenses like IND and JAX in their division.

Well Favre wasnt Favre in several tough games last season. Rodgers will run the system more efficiently because he isn't a gun slinger. Also Grant didn't come on the scene until game 9.

...and Rogers won't be Rogers in some tough games this season. I think Favre's "gun slinger" mentality was a good thing for the team's total yardage. Rogers may very well throw less INT's and force less balls into coverage, but I also think Rogers won't attempt near as many deep balls as Favre did.The #15-ranked yardage team last year (WAS) averaged 333 yards/game. For the sake of argument, let's assume the Packers average 100 yards/game on the ground again. Do you see Rogers, Brohm, etc averaging 233 yards/game (3700+ yards on the season) thru the air? If so, then YES...the Packers could/should crack the Top-15. I just don't think Rogers hits 3700+ in essentially his rookie year.

Ok, fair enough. I think you should mull over the bolded statment. Favre didn't open up holes, he just made the offense balanced. Their line is good, and he was sacked a relatively few amount of times last year, something that will translate to increased productivity. I tend to fall on the side that Rogers will, in fact, keep the defense honest. I think people view him as a rookie. This was a potential first overall pick that was the understudy to Brett Favre for 3 years. He is a first year starter, big difference. While I don't think they will be top 3, I do think top 15.

I will be ***SHOCKED*** if the 49ers do not rank in the top half of the league and don't make this list.

The Lions could not crack the Top-15 last year and they had a better QB & receiving corp (ie. the break-n-butter positions of Martz' offense). Gore is a great RB and the Niners OL is better than the Lions; however, I just can't see Alex Smith increasing his output by the needed 75-100 yards/game in order to get his offense into the Top-15.

I misread the thread . . . thought it was top 15 passing offenses not total yardage. I still think SF has a shot, I guess it depends how much they want to give Gore the ball.

With Martz onboard, a Top-15 passing offense is definitely possible (...if not probable). Smith & Co would "only" need to eclipse 3400-3500 yards passing. I'm not a fan of the Niners WR corp, but they'll definitely be throwing the ball 35+ times/game and somebody should catch 21-23 of the passes.

Now that I think about it, wouldn't this increase Gore's value in a PPR league?

It should...but Gore has not necessarily been a slouch in PPR already with 53 and 61 receptions over the past two seasons, respectively. There's been a wide variation of Marshall Faulk's use in both the running & passing game compared to Kevin Jones' use in the Martz offense. I would assume Gore would fall somewhere in the middle.

good list, but IMO, the notion that NE will lead the league in scoring again is wishful thinking..they have an easy schedule, and I'd expect Brady's TD totals to shrink considerably, down to the 28-30 range as Maroney becomes the focal point of the offense and the team attempts to run the ball more..if they keep sending Brady back to pass as much as he did last season,he'll get killed..remember, after Manning threw for 49 tds, he threw just 28 TD the next season. Last season, LT didn't even come close to repeating his record-setting TD totals from 2006..most guys who set records, don't come close to approaching those numbers the followng seasonDallas is poised to put forth an explosive offense display this season, they'll likely lead the league in scoring, followed by Indy, NO , GB..Jax is wishful thinking with an 'up to this point, one year wonder' named David Garrard at QB..they could be a top offense in 2008, but I'm not on the Garrard bandwagon. I think he slips considerably this season..the rest looks great tho!
