Rank these waiver wire qbs (1 Viewer)

With so many of us getting caught with scrubs like Brady, romo, Newton, and griffin as their qb, let's discuss what the best waiver wire qb play is moving forward.

Rank these guys based on schedule, talent, and situation:

1) Eli - has talent left (maybe?), schedule looks decent, has some good weapons. Bad defense might make for many shootouts, esp playing the nfc east teams.

2) geno - talent is there. Arrow pointing up. Has decent weapons.

3) locker - not looking good but schedule is cake and has weapons and a pass friendly system

4) bortles - talented but a rookie. Has weapons. Not sure about schedule. Bad defense makes for shootouts.

5) Bridgewater - see bortles but less nfl ready perhaps.

6) fitzpatrick - starting him makes you wanna puke in your mouth a little but he's qb 11 rt now in standard scoring while guys like Brady sit at qb26.

Would you pick up and start and of these guys over Brady, romo, Newton?

As a Brady owner, I am, not surprisingly, 0-3. I also have Big Ben who I have sat for the past 3 weeks while watching Brady flounder. I intend to grab Bortles this week off of waivers. Can't however bring myself to waive Brady....yet.

From the list above, Locker is hurt so you have to strike him from the list.

It's a rough go right now. All that "wait on QB, you can always pick somebody up" sounds good in the pre season until you are looking at your wire going into injuries and byes.

Tannehill might be available in some leagues, assuming he gets the start against OAK next week that is a good option for this week at least.

Fitzpatrick gets no credit. Guy has 18, 15 and 23 so far in my league. He'd be #1 on that list.

Geno Smith should be owned by anyone who needs a qb. Those other guys all suck, especially Locker. I got burned in consecutive years by that bum. Eli is another one I would not mess with at all.

The Assistant Coach Forum might have some ideas for your fantasy team.
Aren't we all looking for ideas for our teams here in the shark pool? There are many of us in this crappy situation where we waited on a qb and picked a terrible one that is tanking our early season hopes. This thread is very relevant for group think. The guys I mentioned are widely available on most waiver wires. Get off your soap box, guy. If you don't like a thread move on to the next one.

I'm warming up to geno. He's been so average this far in the nfl that I forgot what a play maker he was in college. But he looks s pretty good. If not for that phantom TO in week 2 he probably would have been a hot WW add last week. Best part is you can still pick him up rt now BC he hasn't played yet in week 3. I did that a few hours ago in one of my yahoo leagues. Dropped Damien Williams.

Drew Stanton worthy of consideration also. Has a bye this week, but I could see taking a chance on him as a bye week filler

I would be tempted to add Drew Stanton and Austin Davis to this list.

I agree with Insein on Fitzpatrick. He has been a borderline QB1 and a great guy to have in a platoon for years now.

Methinks your list is biased to who is available in your league.

Cousins not on that list? I think he is the best bet. I have a feeling all of the NFC East match ups are going to be a fantasy wonderland

Austin Davis has also shown a flash in the pan now that he is given a chance and should be considered as long as we are considering some of the other bums serviceable NFL Quarterbacks on that list.

Brian Hoyer has been solid for the browns. I can see him consistently keeping on pace with 15-20 points a game, not a dream scenario but keeps you competitive

It wasn't an exhaustive list it was meant to get the conversation flowing. By all means add in guys you think deserve to be on the list and who are widely available.

I didn't add cousins BC he was picked up in many leagues last week.

Austin Davis I completely forgot. Yes I agree on him.

Hoyer is not attractive BC he has manziel breathing down his neck.

Also add Mike Glennon and Derek Carr to the list (along with Davis as mentioned). Especially for those of us in larger leagues (like 16 teams) where everyone of the ones OP mentioned (as well as Carr and Cousins) is already rostered.

Have Brady and romo fallen that far that Carr and Glennan can be put in a lineup over them?

Eli would be my pick out of that group, he looked good yesterday and seems to be getting more comfortable with the new offense. He also has some pretty decent weapons and plays in a division with bad defenses.

All accounts are that Hoyer will hold onto the job for a while as long as he continues to play decent.

In regards to the list, i'd go with Eli or Geno - even though Geno just threw a terrible TAINT as i'm typing.

Last week I heard on the radio that Palmer has a never issue in his shoulder....They've tried all kinds of crazy stuff to "wake it up" and it it is not responding. My understanding is they are unsure when he will be able to play again.

Bortles

Teddy

Geno

Eli

Vinny Testaverde

Brett Farve

Warren Moon

A Scarecrow

A Mannequin

...

Fitzpatrick

Locker

Fitz and Locker are fantasy black holes. No thanks,

RG3/Manuel owner who actually traded for Newton this week :wall:

I'm putting in claims for Bortles & Austin Davis. Not sure who I'm ranking first. I guess Bortles simply because Davis is not guaranteed to start when Hill is back, but I thought he looked like he had a bit of "It Factor" vs. Dallas. Plus, I subscribe to the Sports Guy theory that part of being a good QB is having a good QB name and Austin Davis >>>> Blake Bortles.

Blake Bortles sounds like the chubby comic relief sidekick in an 80s high school movie. Or maybe he's the ditzy professor? Professor Bortles. Always misplacing his glasses and tries to draw on the chalk board with a carrot. Oh that wacky Prof. Bortles. :grad:
