10-team, 2 QB .5 PPR league. We start 2 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, TE, Flex (RB/WR/TE), K, and DEF. Assuming no scoring or stat changes that affect scoring, I will win Week 8 over my opponent, 150.40 to 150.38. Yeah, it was nuts. Their team had DeShaun Watson and I had DeAndre Hopkins and Jimmy Graham. Anyhow, will move to 5-3 on the season after a 1-3 start and in a logjam tie for 2nd place.

Anyhow, my roster is as follows:

QB - Cousins, Rivers, Stanton (need him for Week 9 bye week replacement with Rivers on bye)

RB - Jay Ajayi, Alvin Kamara, Christian McCaffrey, Lamar Miller, David Johnson

WR - Michael Thomas, DeAndre Hopkins, Alshon Jeffery, Corey Davis

TE - Jimmy Graham

K - Matt Bryant

DEF - Jacksonville, Philadelphia (will drop them as I need them to cover Jacksonville's bye)

Trade deadline is in two weeks. I feel like my greatest need might be to find one more dependable RB outside of Miller and Kamara. McCaffrey's snap rate is trending down which is a little worrisome. Trying to move Alshon Jeffery for Evan Engram. My thought is they use Engram like an extended WR and he gets more volume/targets than Jeffery and I can use him in my flex. Otherwise, the thought is to trade Engram or Graham to a TE-needy team for a solid WR or RB. There isn't much for QB on waivers but hope to pick up Bridgewater and then I might pick back up Derrick Henry just in case to round out my RB group. Thoughts?

The team that I played this week will move to 1-7 on the season. Do they still have a chance to make the playoffs? I'm unsure, they'll be 3 games out of a playoff spot with 5 weeks to go so anything is possible. Here is their roster:

QB - Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston, Eli Manning, Ryan Fitzpatrick

RB - Mike Gillislee, James White, LeSean McCoy, Ty Montgomery

WR - Brandin Cooks, Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson, Mohamed Sanu, Rishard Matthews

TE - Cameron Brate

DEF - New England

K - Matt Prater

Their QBs (Watson/Winston) have already had their byes and so there's no immediate need for Manning. Considering offering up Drew Stanton (or just drop him), Jay Ajayi, and Alshon Jeffery for Eli Manning and Brandin Cooks. She has Cooks on bye (and I'm not starting Jeffery anyway). She also has a need at RB and James White (and Gillislee) are on a bye this next week. Joe Flacco is also on waivers and Danny Woodhead can practice this week and is eligible to play in Week 11 so he's also available as a pickup off waivers. Would like to shore up my 3rd WR spot and 3rd QB situation.

If the 1-5 owner is out of it, is there any incentive at all for her to continue trying to win?  Chance to improve her draft positioning?

I'd try and offer her Ajayi + Jeffery for Evans, since it does appear that she needs RB help even beyond just this upcoming bye week.  Jeffery has the potential to be as good or better than Cooks as the WR1 of his offense.  Both offenses have a stud TE in the way (Gronk and Ertz), but Cooks also has to contend with Hogan, Amendola, and all the pass catching RBs on the Pats while Jeffery only really has Agholor to contend with for targets.  I realize Ajayi is far from a stud RB but he is a usable body who should eventually find the end zone one day.  Just feel like Ajayi + Jeffery is an overpay for Cooks, I'd rather you get someone a little more consistent than Cooks.

I wouldn't worry too much (or pay anything extra) trying to obtain Eli, but if she's willing to throw him in to make it 2 for 2 then by all means go for it.  She's through with her byes for Winston and Watson so she should be ok to pass over Eli if you do ask.

2 QB is tough, but I'd rather stand pat and take your lumps this week rather than give up your depth.  You almost needed Jeffery this weekend with Thomas giving us a scare; I just despise Eli especially with no OBJ.  See if Teddy Bridgewater is on the wire as well.

Okay, I'm a little hesitant to trade Ajayi after this latest move to Philadelphia although you could certainly make the case that his value is probably pretty high right now considering the situation he is moving to. Considering sending Alshon Jeffery, Christian McCaffrey, and Philadelphia D (the New England D is also on bye this week)  for Eli Manning and Brandin Cooks. Would probably try and pick up someone like Woodhead, Dion Lewis, Rex Burkhead, or Derrick Henry as my 4th RB.

Thanks for help on mine.  My advice to you is go hard after Watson.  You have decent enough RB and WR to get by.  I wouldn't put too much effort into adding a second TE either.  Graham should be fine,

I would try and trade Rivers and one of Kamar, Ajayi or McCaffery for Watson.  Go big.  That will improve your chances dramatically IMO

That would be all well and good to shoot for the moon with Watson but I'm not sure I have the ability to go for him without trading Hopkins or Michael Thomas.

Thanks for the help on my question! I agree it looks like you need a better RB, but you will have to offer very high price to get one. Plus, I think Lamar Miller is a RB1, just probably on the lowest tier. And now Jay is moved to a better spot, so he could be a dependable RB1 that avaerages high numbers. I actually think you are fine at RB and would hold.

QB is a concern. Washington losing so many offensive linemen could put Cousins in a bind. If you can, I would try to package him with someone else.

Honestly, I would even consider trading Johnson if his name gives good return. Maybe the Wentz or Watson or Brady or Wilson owner would take X player and Johnson?

I also think Alshon will have an uptick. He faced some top level CBs in the first half of the season
