Loved it when it was new and love it now. 10 all the way.
This is pretty much where I am at. I really like Prince and R.E.M. (like their entire catalogs) and don't dislike Zevon. So, my take is what's not to like? I actually like this version better that the original . . . something about the garage band feel and charm. Just a bunch a guys playing a song and the tape recorder happened to be on.

For the music historians, Hindu Love Gods was an R.E.M. side project that started in 1984. At one point Michael Stipe was involved (as was Warren Zevon). The same combination of Berry/Buck/Mills with Zevon recorded Zevon's 1987 album Sentimental Hygiene. The "Hindu Love Gods" played 10 cover songs that were recorded during a night of drunken debauchery in 1987 and was never intended to be released. It came out three years later.
