Ravens brought the bad karma upon themselves! (1 Viewer)

First they introduce the Colts in pregame as "that team from Indianapolis".

Then the Colts are listed on the scoreboard as "IND".

Classless acts for a team and city making similar claims against Indy.

Another funny thing is with all of the "...Colts are gonna get a beatdown from our mighty Ratbirds" talk this week, once the Colts made their selves comfy in their winter home aka M&T Bank stadium, and beat the Purple Pigeons into submission, none of these fans came back to the board and gave kudos.

I can't imagine how bad this must be killing you.

For this year, that win was enough for me, regardless of the INDIANAPOLIS Colts outcome the rest of the way.

Not a Ravens fan or Colts fan but with the way the Ravens prevented Manning Inc from doing much of anything and allowing only 15 points that defense has to be POed a little. Not saying the Indy defense did not play well because they played above their heads two weeks in a row now when compared to the season.

I thought the Ravens were going to win this game but Indy went in there and slapped them silly. I was hoping Philly would win the late one but whatever. Looking into next week I hope Indy and NO lose though but either of those teams will be better than seeing the Bears in there.

Anybody not giving props to Indy is seeing things with blinders on. Baltimore defense played a great game but Indy played a little better as a whole.

Do you mean the same defense that allowed the Colts offense to basically kill the last eight minutes of the game? That defense? Sure, the offense is more to blame for the loss, but the Ravens defense choked big time in crunch time last night. Would the Ravens offense been able to go down the field and score the winning TD, if given the chance? Given how poorly they were playing, probably not, but the Ravens defense didn't even give them a shot.

Stating the Ravens D choked is ridiculous. You hold the Colts offense to 15 points then your team should win the game. Hats off to the Colts D for showing up in the playoffs for once.

If I'm a Ravens fan, there's plenty of blame to go around. McNair's picks, Billick abandoning the run, the "great" Ravens D allowing Indy not just to burn the last 8 minutes, but run the ball quite effectively.

Indy punched the bully in the mouth and they wilted.

Agreed.... and karma had nothing to do with it.

If you were old enough to remember the Colts leaving Baltimore (I'm not either) and you lived around the area, you'd be bitter to this day as well. I don't blame them and don't think it was an over-the-top bad move on their part to refer to them as the team in Indy.

The Ravens are one of the most boring teams to watch on TV. they have no playmakers on offense and even their great vaunted defense was a bore

I said the Ravens defense choked in CRUNCH TIME, which they did. In that situation, your defense either needs to make a stop or force a turnover. They did neither. Obviously, you have to give a lot of credit to the Colts offense for a great drive, but when you run your mouth as much as the Ravens defense does, you better put up or shut up. The Colts offense shut them up in crunch time yesterday.

CRUNCH TIME has nothing to do with it. The Ravens should score 28 points on that defense in their sleep. If your D doesn't give up a touchdown against the Colts, your team should win.

Well this is a different Colts D then in the regular season. I don't know how or why, but it is different that is for sure. Saying that if your D doesn't give up a touchdown, that you should win is pretty one sided. The Colts D played just as well as the Ravens D, forcing 3 turnovers when the game was in doubt (the McNair fumble doesn't really matter). But it does come down to the Colts getting the ball back with 7:00 minutes left and running right at the D (the side of the ball the team is built on) and beating them. They beat them down, and finished them off.

Then the Colts are listed on the scoreboard as "IND".
I didn't get that either. What should they be listed as?
Have you ever been to an NFL game? Both team's nicknames are posted on the scoreboards. Maybe not in your city.I pointed this out since it happened right after the Colts were introduced to the fans in the pre-game as "that team from Indianapolis". The Ravens made a special effort to not mention "Colts" yesterday.

It was Bush league for the Baltimore Browns/ Cleveland Ravens to do IMHO.

Ask yourself who didn't do their job yesterday. The Baltimore D who didn't allow one of the best offenses of the past few years a TD or the Baltimore O who could not score a TD against one of the worst run D's of this past year? Baltimore's D did just about everything but score a TD (and they might have if the ref made the right call) to win that game.

The Ravens D did everything on that last drive but use a gun to try and hold the Colts up for that ball. You're not giving enough credit to the Colts for sustaining the drive against a ball hawking, top notch D.

Classless describes the middle of the night way the Colts snuck out of Baltimore. It also describes Irsay stating the Colts were not moving anywhere when he knew they were.

All I have to say is this: If Indy has suddenly learned how to play D (& the last 2 games were not a fluke), they may as well engrave the Lombardi Trophy now.

What do want Baltimore fans to be like?.... all happy that thier original team moved out in the middle of the night? I live near the region and there is still alot of bad blood towards the organization, and by the classless way the organization moved out rightfully so. Indy fans who get mad at Baltimore remind me of a person who steals a spouse away from someone and then gets mad at the original spouse. Relax Sport......your city got the team; no reason to kick Baltimore when they are down.

Yeah, this is very whiny.

The Bengals are listed as CIN and The Steelers as PIT. Not sure what you are talking about here.

Ravens played a great game. Giving up 5 FG to INDY is a win to me. They lost this game because the INDY defense held them to 6 points. INDY's Defense outplayed the Ravens Offense. They made McNair look bad....

This loss is on the Offense not the Defense

Classless is also Bob Irsay offering the Name, records and Colors back to the city of Baltimore for 15 Million, or is that Greed?

Rhodes had some key runs right up the gut. I'm a huge fan of Ray Lewis' NFL play but he's made those tackles 1000 times and somehow didn't. I wouldn't be surprised if they played their heart out for 90% of the game and just didn't have enough "gas" at the end. IMO The Ravens O should have put up more points. Outside of Heap and Clayton nobody stepped up to catch the ball. Here's that drive:1-10-IND36 (7:39) (No Huddle) D.Rhodes left guard to IND 39 for 3 yards (T.Suggs, R.Lewis). 2-7-IND39 (6:55) (No Huddle) D.Rhodes left guard to IND 44 for 5 yards (K.Gregg, B.Scott). 3-2-IND44 (6:55) D.Rhodes left guard to IND 50 for 6 yards (R.Lewis, T.Suggs). 1-10-50 (5:26) D.Rhodes left guard to IND 47 for -3 yards (T.Suggs). 2-13-IND47 (4:43) D.Rhodes left guard to BLT 45 for 8 yards (A.Thomas, T.Pryce). 3-5-BAL45 (3:57) (Shotgun) P.Manning pass short right to D.Clark to BLT 31 for 14 yards (C.Ivy). 1-10-BAL31 (3:57) (No Huddle) D.Rhodes right guard to BLT 31 for no gain (C.Ivy). PENALTY on BLT, Defensive 12 On-field, 5 yards, enforced at BLT 31 - No Play. 1-5-BAL26 (3:29) D.Rhodes right tackle to BLT 24 for 2 yards (K.Gregg). 2-3-BAL24 (2:47) D.Rhodes left guard to BLT 25 for -1 yards (R.Lewis, T.Pryce). 3-4-BAL25 (2:18) D.Rhodes right tackle to BLT 20 for 5 yards (R.Lewis). 1-10-BAL20 (1:58) D.Rhodes left end to BLT 16 for 4 yards (R.Lewis). 2-6-BAL16 (1:46) D.Rhodes left tackle to BLT 16 for no gain (J.Johnson, A.Franklin). 3-6-BAL16 (1:07) P.Manning kneels to BLT 17 for -1 yards. 4-7-BAL17 (:26) (Field Goal formation) A.Vinatieri 35 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-J.Snow, Holder-H.Smith.

Sounds like a cop-out for when the Colts lose and Peyton chokes again in the playoffs. With fan's attitudes like that, it's no wonder Indy is so soft.

No, I'm a realist. The Colts will not be expected to win. I hope they win, but to think otherwise is silly if they go to SD. If they are at home, then all bets are off. I will be amazed if they were to lose to NE.Go fish elsewhere.

What does a fans attitude have anything to do with how a team plays?

In fairness, no they didn't. They won and ever so just. Could've just as easily went the other way, Manning sucked, and I'm glad it's over. But even if the Colts don't make or win the SB, this was a great win.

Yeah thanks for reminding how Irsay took a vote among the players and coaches and didn't just decide to move on his own. It was the teams' doing, not his. LOL - enjoy crying in your she-crab soup.

It surprises me that people don't understand the resurgence of the Indy defense. Bob Sanders is a HUGE part of their defense and he's been hurt and less than 100% pretty much all season. Now that he's back and playing well it has bolstered the entire defense. I think that they're definitely playing at their peak and won't play any better (and Baltimore's offense isn't that impressive) but their defense isn't the same defense with and without Sanders.

Indy hasn't looked soft for the last 2 weeks for sure. They smacked Baltimore in the mouth.

If you're satisfied with one playoff win and then losing AGAIN, cool. But that sounds pretty awful to me.

LOL at the city of Baltimore for the outrage over the Colts, meanwhile, they stole the Cleveland Browns.

I am so sick of hearing about the fearsome Ravens. 2000 was more than half a decade ago. Get an offense, for christ sake.

Yeah, make no mistake. Peyton HAS to win this one. He can't lose to the Patriots again, this time in his own stadium.Coltsfan is underplaying the importance of this one if they don't see that.

Yes, that is what I said in my post. If the Colts lose this week, I will be amazed! This game is going to be a madhouse. This is the biggest single sporting event to take place for the city of Indianapolis. If the Colts find a way to lose it, then it is time to disband. Hell, I'd move all sports teams out of the city and go back to radio broadcasts of HS basketball games and the Indy 500.
