Ray Rice Arrested In Atlantic City After Physical Altercation (1 Viewer)

You never suggested a course of action Ray should have taken, you were just asking questions sympathetic to the abuser. Like: "Do you walk away and sit in the corner while she goes spends your money." You know, she has agency of her own you know. Her own cash, her own life, that your little hero just traumatized.

And to answer your second question, I'd happily spit on a domestic abuser. It's nothing compared to what they do to their victims and get away with, Ray Rice has to know he can't do that and still be admired and valued.

Whenever I read reports of athletes or celebrities abusing their SO's in public, I wonder if they can do this in a public place, what do they do to them at home.

I would like to see additional video. Why leak this video? If a person has access to the video outside the elevator, why not the video inside the elevator? The first thing I thought, is that she was drunk and passed out.

Now he is my hero? For asking questions that you interpret as defending him? For your information it was asking what do you do if your fiance spits on you. I never had to deal with the situation. Obviously hitting her is not the answer, but what do you do if it happens? That is a heck of a situation. The fact you are angry over my questions is your own issue.

Makes you wonder. A lot of celebrities have deep secrets too. So you can really never know. But as far as the video, if he hit her and it was on video, it would be out there. Not saying he didn't hit her, for the ones who like to twist comments, but if it was caught on video it would be out there. Anyone is looking to make a buck.

I'm saying you and your questions are sexist by implying that she was spending his money. Here is a short list of things that he could have done differently: 1. Remove himself from the situation if he has an anger issue. 2. Spit back at her, both get thrown out, laugh it out later. 3. Get an ice cream cone, maybe he feels better. And so on. You're saying that her spitting on him was the start of the incident, but as KCitons pointed out, if that's what he's doing in public, what is he doing in private? Odds are this isn't the first time he's physically lashed out.

For starters, I would stop calling her my fiance and start calling her my ex-girlfriend.

Agreed. But, if I'm the guy working casino security, I have access to all the footage. Why is this the footage that gets released by TMZ? Did the guy want too much money for the footage inside the elevator? Or does that mean there is no footage inside the elevator?

Here's a reason they might not have access to the tape: the police took it for an investigation, seeing as both parties were arrested.

IF any woman spits in my face the answer is walk away...

that's how i was raised, you don't raise your hand to a woman unless you are in actual danger and there are no options. If walking away is an option it is the obivous one, and having to ask that question seems strange

Here's a reason they might not have access to the tape: the police took it for an investigation, seeing as both parties were arrested.
Security uses digital video (think DVR) these days, it's not like it used to be where there is only one VHS tape available. Also, if this was the case, they would have taken the footage from outside the elevator as well.

So what is the proper way to handle being spit on in public by your fiance?

Do you just walk away leave her there and hope she comes home in a better mood?

Do you walk away and sit in the corner while she goes spends your money at the Casino?

Do you act like being spit on is not a big deal and that nothing happened?

Luckily my fiance and I have respect for each other so this will never be an issue.
Somewhere between this and knocking her the #### out with an uppercut.

What I'm saying is that it's just as likely that the Rice camp had this footage leaked to say she was just drunk, seeing as this happened at a Baltimore casino likely to have a Ravens fan or two. Also, considering even Rice's lawyer has called it a "minor physical confrontation." Not even his attorney is arguing there wasn't physical contact.

This happened in Atlantic City not Baltimore.

You've had some time to think on this now. What's your answer?

Heck if I know, my point is this is one crazy situation. On one hand you share a home with this woman most likely so walking away and leaving her is not an option. Now you can't punch here either, so as someone said somewhere above, in between somewhere. Saying just walk away and have an ice cream leads me to believe the person who said that is not in a relationship. You just can't walk away from your significant other in public after she spits on you.

like hell you can't

you can;t walk away and never have another conversation with her, but you damn well can remove yourself from that siutation

Uh, yes you can.

I know you haven't said the words, but your posts basically reek of, "She asked for it; what else was he supposed to do?"

You just walk away. What you do with your time after that doesn't really matter. What you don't do is hit her. No matter what. That's just common sense.

This is a vile mindset. Here's a tip, Ray Rice is an idol to thousands of people, many children, and you are defending him knocking out and dragging his girlfriend through the casino. He should have been a man, not a disgusting piece of ####. I'd spit on him too.
Whoa man. We don't even know if Rice hit this woman yet.

Ray Rice's own attorney doesn't dispute the couple had a physical altercation. You can be sure that if he didn't hit her, the attorney would say he didn't hit her. And don't call me man.

Police have declined to release an incident report but say Ray and Palmer struck each other with their hands in an incident that was recorded on surveillance video. Casino security called police, who reviewed the video and issued the summons.

Wonder why? If I lived in NJ, and assaulted my wife, would the police keep my report private?

So you see this as either not being a man / just walking away or pinching a girl out? Lotta options in between, no?

No I see it as people lying to themselves. No one is walking away from a woman who is a part of your life when she hits you and spits on you. No one, NO ONE. Let me be clear, NO ONE IS WALKING AWAY FROM A GIRLFRIEND, FIANCE OR WIFE IF THEY HIT YOU OR SPIT ON YOU IN PUBLIC. I at no point said hitting her is or was an option, but you are not walking away. I am just asking how do you handle it, a question people just want to twist and say I think he should hit her instead of giving honest and truthful answers. I bet ray Rice said he would walk away at some point in his life, but he didnt. Just like no one would.

Looking for honest answers but I notice a lot of people saying things that they wouldnt really do, looks like a bunch of righteous politicians in this thread. Go get ice cream, really man, your girl just hit you and spit on you, but leave her at the casino with the guy she was getting fresh with and go get a double scoop of mint chocolate chip. I love how people think relationships are always so cut and dry when families, money, housing and emotions are involved.

You gonna let your wife/fiance spit on you and hit you in public and let her go and get cozy with a man while you walk away? Again I'm not suggesting you would hit her or that is the right course of action. But you are NOT walking away. Again, I bet Ray Rice always said he would walk away too, until it happened to him. He just went way too far. I would of been slick and embarrassed her or something childish to make her leave, not hit her. Too much to lose, especially for a guy like Rice.

What does getting cozy with another guy have to do with this?

And don't tell me what I am and what I am not doing.

I had a girlfriend that ripped my gold chain off my neck while saying some unkind words to me, in public. I was more embarrassed than angry. My solution was going to the jewelry store and getting it fixed immediately. Walking away is your only option. I'd like to know what childish stunt you would have pulled off to make her leave. You'd look like an idiot either way, so you just walk away.

There was a witness.

A witness who saw the altercation at Revel claimed that Rice hit Palmer "like he punched a guy, knocked down and dragged her out of the elevator by his feet" before security arrived. The witness characterized the dispute as more than a "minor incident."

For Ray Rice’s fiancee, the summons says she struck him with her hand. For Rice, it says that he struck her so hard, it rendered her unconscious.

Prosecutors have canceled Rice’s court appearance next week while they review the evidence.
“The domestic violence incident in Atlantic City involving Ray Rice has been referred to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office for review. The Atlantic City Police Department has requested the Prosecutor’s Office review the case to ensure all appropriate charges are considered. The matter remains under investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office in conjunction with the Atlantic City Police Department. At the present time, Mr. Rice remains charged with simple assault, a disorderly persons offense.”

According to the summons he hit her with his hand. Did he slap her or punch her? With an open hand or closed fist. Doesn't make it right either way, just goes to the credibility of the witness is all. Questions lawyers will ask. I wish the video would come out.

Ray Rice on Hines Ward 2011 DUI:

it’s not a good look. Their whole town knows it’s not a good look. It doesn’t matter what team you play for. When it comes across the ticker that you got arrested for a DUI, it’s not a good look.”

Rice said Ward should know that as a role model, he has a special responsibility.
Oh, please tell us more Mr High Horse. How does it look when you get arrested for giving a Cleveland Bus Driver Uppercut and KTFOing your fiancee, Ray?

Also, can we get a list of Ravens named Ray who have not been arrested for violence?
