Ray Rice Arrested In Atlantic City After Physical Altercation (1 Viewer)

There was a witness.

A witness who saw the altercation at Revel claimed that Rice hit Palmer "like he punched a guy, knocked down and dragged her out of the elevator by his feet" before security arrived. The witness characterized the dispute as more than a "minor incident."
Until the judge bangs the gavel, he didn't do it.
Players who did nothing wrong at all according to this (ownage!) logic: OJ Simpson, Ben Roethlesburger, Jameis Winston,
I think you are starting to get it :hifive:

Ray Rice on Hines Ward 2011 DUI:

it’s not a good look. Their whole town knows it’s not a good look. It doesn’t matter what team you play for. When it comes across the ticker that you got arrested for a DUI, it’s not a good look.”

Rice said Ward should know that as a role model, he has a special responsibility.
Oh, please tell us more Mr High Horse. How does it look when you get arrested for giving a Cleveland Bus Driver Uppercut and KTFOing your fiancee, Ray?

Also, can we get a list of Ravens named Ray who have not been arrested for violence?
No ####. Everyone knows that when you have to smack your ##### you do it in private -- amirite?! [/James Harrison]

According to the summons he hit her with his hand. Did he slap her or punch her? With an open hand or closed fist.
According to the summons he knocked her unconscious with his hand. Why do those questions matter to you?
I'm sorry Fatness, but if you can't see the obvious dynasty implications of Ray Rice using a stiff arm after off season surgery, maybe you need to find a new hobby.

I think facts should matter to everyone, why do they not matter to you? I noticed you took time to delete the part of the quote where I said, well, I just reposted my whole quote below again. I bolded the part you went out of your way to delete. Way to be misleading, the answer to your question is what you deleted. Why would you delete part of my quote anyways?

According to the summons he hit her with his hand. Did he slap her or punch her? With an open hand or closed fist. Doesn't make it right either way, just goes to the credibility of the witness is all. Questions lawyers will ask. I wish the video would come out.

Neither the witness nor the police report said he slapped her. Only you mention it.

Then you questioned the witness's credibility.

1. Why did you delete part of my quote and try to mislead others to why i was asking?

2. It says he hit her with his hand, I am wondering if it was a slap or punch, that is why I ask the simple question did he punch her or slap her.

3. Facts are important in legal proceeding, you may not be aware of this. Not that it matters for moral purposes, but if the witness is wrong in his facts it could matter legally.

4. I didn't question his credibility, I said it goes to his credibility, stuff lawyers would ask, but you would know that if you didn't delete part of my quote.

5. You seem pretty defensive of someone asking questions trying to get all the facts.

When she was knocked unconscious, who cares if it was open or closed handed?

Called out? I have responded to everything I can keep up with and keep asking questions to ridicule. You would think I hit her the way people are responding to asking questions.

I just saw some video and it looks real bad... downgrade!
The video of him hitting here, where did you see it? Or was it the one of him dragging her. Both of them are brutal to watch I'm sure. I only saw the one where he dragged her, what a tool.
Now he's a tool? What else was he supposed to do after she spit on him and blew his cash on blackjack? He had no choice.
No, I said what do you do in the situation and at no point defended him. I just wait for all the facts to come out and not start gossip and assuming the worst of a person. Why have a legal system, we have everyone on FBG to convict people without all the evidence. Dragging a woman is toolish, is it not? That is all I have seen and reports of witnesses, which I am asking questions about. But because I am asking a serious question in how to handle it and that no one would walk away, I am defending him? Only here on FBG can someone try to get and understand all the facts, not opinion, before assessing judgement and get slammed.

Because I do the right thing and want facts in something that is still full of questions on a message board, I would hit a woman? Stay Classy. You know nothing about me.

Long answer to say you didn't hit this girl. What are you hiding?

So what is the proper way to handle being spit on in public by your fiance?

Do you just walk away leave her there and hope she comes home in a better mood?

Do you walk away and sit in the corner while she goes spends your money at the Casino?

Do you act like being spit on is not a big deal and that nothing happened?

Luckily my fiance and I have respect for each other so this will never be an issue.
You've had some time to think on this now. What's your answer?
Heck if I know, my point is this is one crazy situation. On one hand you share a home with this woman most likely so walking away and leaving her is not an option. Now you can't punch here either, so as someone said somewhere above, in between somewhere. Saying just walk away and have an ice cream leads me to believe the person who said that is not in a relationship. You just can't walk away from your significant other in public after she spits on you.
You questioned earlier whether his fist was open or closed, which suggests to me that the answer to that question matters to you.

So, tell us, is it ok to slap her?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OETH5brfTi4

so he slapped, hit or it doesn't matter... she conscious when the doors closed and he did something to make her unconscious when they opened. POS!!! and I hope he gets half the yr off for this. Stop thinking like fantasy owners and act like grown mature adults.

And he might of done even more damage the way he was dragging her around like that

The crazy part is that this was minutes after the hit. Being completely unconscious for that long means he must have lit her up.

Do we know for sure she was conscious before the doors closed or are we just making conclusions? I'm asking seriously, makes a huge difference and I don't know the answer. He's to drunk to carry her and she was probably drunk as well. Do we know for sure she did not pass out on or before the elevator from being drunk? This video looks terrible but a huge difference between trying to carry your drunk passed out wife back to the room versus entering an elevator with a conscious person, knocking them out on the ride up and proceeding to attempt to drag them into your room.

We know he hit his wife but that I think he can survive and remain a Raven. I think he can survive this video if they all contend she passed out on the ride up from intoxication. I don't think he can survive as a Raven, if an NFL player at all in 2014, if what you say is true and he knocked her out on the ride up and tried to drag her back to the room.

From Deadspin again.

A witness who saw the altercation at Revel claimed that Rice hit Palmer "like he punched a guy, knocked down and dragged her out of the elevator by his feet" before security arrived.
Also

Ravens running back Ray Rice knocked his fiancée, Janay Palmer, unconscious during an altercation in Atlantic City early Saturday morning, according to the complaint filed by the Atlantic City Police Department. The complaint, which has been obtained by NJ.com, states that Rice committed assault, "by attempting to cause bodily injury to J. Palmer, specifically by striking her with his hand, rendering her unconscious."
And

Police said they have video proving Rice and Palmer attacked each other.

Nope, never. My complicated question is what do you do in that situation? I stand by my statement that no one would walk away, so if you cant/wont hit her, what do you do. I ask because I never been in a physical confrontation with a woman and never expect to be but I have been in arguments and confrontations that I just cant walk away from because of whatever reason. Emotions draw people into a cant let go state if one party feels wronged regardless of what many of you say, you know what I mean in that regard, or at least you should if you have been in a relationship.

I don't know why it's such a difficult thing to understand. But, I guess you would have to explain why your wife/girlfriend spit in your face. What if she caught you cheating on her?

I don't believe two wrongs will make a right. If the only way a man can solve problems in a relationship is through violence, then he shouldn't be in a relationship.

My guess is a karate chop.
Mel Blount used to do that a lot. During plays.

All drafted players are briefed, in detail, on what to do in a potentially career damaging legal situation, including domestic abuse issues. Each year, the league sends someone to discuss how to handle the media/legal issues/staying out of career damaging situations to each franchise. On top of that, each individual franchise is mandated to also have their internal legal team discuss the issue and provide resources.

Every player on an NFL roster can

- Call their franchises internal security. ( They generally keep some local retired/former law enforcement from the area around or on retainer, for the value of their contacts)

- Call their agent, often the larger agencies have their own internal security division, smaller agents usually have former law enforcement on retainer.

- Call their contact to their franchises legal/PR department

- Call NFL Security

- Call their position coach, their direct liaison to the rest of the coaching staff in place

This is aside from the general help lines already in place by the Players Association for all players then again for specific franchises.

Every player knows who his NFLPA rep is and can contact them. Rookies generally are under someone in Player development are often paired with a team "mentor", a veteran player, of which either can be contacted.

Some elite players have direct access to their GMs, owners and/or the Commissioner himself.

If Ray Rice needed help, there is no shortage of help he could have gotten before violence occurred.

Doesn't matter what happened in truth, he's guilty.

Once accused, you are guilty, once it hits the press, public perception has already done it's damage. Once the feminist lobby gets it's hands on it, it will spin in the liberal media like wildfire and go viral.

Roger Goodell could care less about the truth. You are punished for making the shield look bad. It could be a lie or it could be the truth that does it, once it happens, you are responsible, and you will pay for it.

From a PR standpoint, both were African American, both were arrested and she is not overtly more dark skinned than he is, which makes a difference. I'm sure Fennis will scream racism here, but how PR works is how PR works. The perception changes if Rice hit a white woman versus a black woman. A pregnant woman versus a non pregnant woman. His girlfriend vs a wife. Whether or not he had kids with them. Those are all factors. From a PR standpoint, darker skinned black women are less sympathetic to the plight of lighter skinned black women in public. From a racial tone, Rice at least has that on his side. But violence against women is NFL no no. Sad but that's how PR works. The NFL and Goodell have worked hard to cultivate a female friendly game and a female audience for the NFL, all these factors will play out in how Rice is punished.

Punishment is coming. Sheriff Roger is coming. And hell is coming with him. You got that? Hell is coming with him.
It's morning of a new day. Here's a chance to reflect on all the stupid that's in this post. In fact, feel free to just outright delete the damn thing from the record.

As others have expressed in the past, we all miss the old GordonGekko, and it's unfortunate that such big shoes were filled by such tiny feet.

Rice isn't going to suffer because he didn't do what the NFL told him to do. Even if the NFL had never said a word to Ray Rice he'd be on the hook here. Because whether the NFL says so or not, you aren't allowed to knock women out by punching them.

Feminists, race, the NFL have nothing to do with it.
Daryl Washington, Dez Bryant?

Goodell doesn't care about anything but appearing to keep a high standard. They flip out on guys for pot but they haven't done much about voilence, HGH, man slaughter, rape, etc.

The problem here is there's video. If the mainstream media picks this up it'll turn into a circus, he'll get suspended and there's a good chance he's cut.
