Ray Rice verse Vikings....predictions here please. (1 Viewer)

Id say 100 total yards and maybe a 30% chance of a TD sounds about right. Would be surprised to see Willis get 8+ carries.

Im thinking under 50 Rushing yards and about 60-70 receiving. Could be a dink and dunk day for RIce. TD chance seems slim. 20% seems about right.

vikes hard to run on at home

they allowed Gore/Coffee 58 rushing yards

they allowed R. Grant 51 rushing yards

They have allowed ZERO rushing td's this year at home or on the road

I stay away from Rice this week

I get that the Williamses are that good, but in ppr he could do pretty well. All he needs is 3 or 4 balls thrown his way, plus a few yards and you are lookin at your points for the week...I think he will get about 12 - 14 points total. I'll play him for that.

People need to remember that the Vikings are hard to run on UP THE MIDDLE. There is room to move on the edges and they are not quite as stingy against the run as people believe (though they are still pretty good).

Gotta remember, starting LT Gaither is likely out against the Vikes. He was surely missed last week. Adjust your predictions for both Rice and McGahee if Gaither misses this game.

They allowed R. Grant 51 rushing yards on 11 carries The Packers didn't run much, or Grant would have had a nice day running the ball. I think Rice will get good yardage, but I don't see him scoring, so I'm going with other options.

IN a non PPR league does anyone thinking J. Stewart vs Tampa is a better option than Ray Rice this week. I'm tempted to start J. Stewart over Ray Rice. Just this week.

I think Rice will do alot of his damage on screens and check downs in this game. He definitely is going to get his. I say 15-18 FP.

Interesting vikings stats:

The longest run against them this year is 15 yards (best in the NFL)

As previously stated stated the vikings have not allowed a TD on the ground this season

The most passes any RB has had the honor of catching against the Vikings is 4

The most rushing yards any RB has against them is SJack at St Louis 84

People saying Rice is going to have a big game should not be expecting more then 90 total yards and no TD's, and maybe 3/4 rec's with the 90 yards

I guess if your scoring gives you 18 points for 90 yards and 3 rec's start em :headbang:

All that is true, but the Ravens are BY FAR the best running team the Vikings have faced.

I too am not buying into Rice is in the top 10 RBs in a PPR to start this week. Cam Cameron stated that the Ravens would try to run more often to establish the play action passing game. Rice will get his touches, but I think McGahee and McClain will get more carries so Rice isn't worn down. Rice will probably get 55% of the running game, however last week vs Cincy he got the lion's share so I would temper my expectations. I own all three Raven RBs so I don't have an agenda to push here. For the record I am starting Leon Washington at home vs Buffalo over Rice as I think he has a much better matchup.

I'll take a stab:

12 for 42 rush

7 for 60, TD receiving

I think this could be the week Rice stays in for some GL packages (inside the 10) as a recieving target.

My concern isn't Rice. It's Cam Cameron. He's a creative, versatile OC who seems to start from scratch with each game plan.

If he were more narrow-minded and dogmatic I'd say he'd find a way for Rice to succeed this week and we'd be looking at 60 rush/60 rec/TD.

But for all we know this is Flacco's week. Or McClain's.

I'm going to say 12 rushes for 35 yards, 4 receptions for 15 yards and no TD.

As a Ray Rice owner and fan I hope I'm wrong. Because if he can shine this weekend then he becomes an automatic start for the rest of the season.

Why should we believe you? 3 receptions seems way too low. I like Az's better.

He's the 8th ranked RB/WR in my non-PPR league. Hard to sit him down, especially when he's as dangerous on screens as he is running.

Everything he posted was right. Rice is obviously a stud.
yep. Plus he was relatively held in check until he exploded in the 4th quarter when the Vikings defense became porous due to Flacco's really impressive passing game. The Vikings blitzing as a response was a recipe for Rice's success in the screen and running game. The rationale for benching Rice for another viable RB2 made sense this week based on Minnesota's normally stout rush defense (see: the last 3 years), it just so happened the combination of Rice's talent and Flacco's great game (and the Vikes' response to it) created the perfect recipe for success.

Ray Rice is pretty much unbenchable in PPR leagues but I guess if I was in a non-ppr league, it would make the decision a little harder against the vikings.

im still wondering what cameron was trying to do running up the middle rather than side to side.
