Ray Rice video of KO punch released (1 Viewer)

I'm a a Ravens fan that lives in Baltimore. They are screaming for his head here I'd be surprised if he makes it through the day still apart of this roster!! I think they cut him. Just my opinion

Can he be suspended again for same incident?
I think if he lied about what happened he could be suspended more for the lying.

I'm not convinced that Goodell didn't have the video already though. The NFL has a bunch of CIA/FBI types working for their security division. If TMZ can get the video, surely the NFL could. If there's any evidence that Goodell DID have this video and only gave 2 games, then I think Goodell is done. He might be even If he didn't have the video.

Lol what did you guys think it was going to look like? I'm not surprised or shocked in the least. I mean it sucks but it's a standard KO.

This.

This goes to show how the American public reacts to hearing something then seeing it. Two different things. Doesnt mean Ray Rice is not a doosh and does not mean he doesnt deserve harsher, just means people are interesting. To the person above, Goodell is done? He works for the owners and since he has been commish the league is thriving, they are not gonna get rid of him because you dont like how long his penalty for the situation was.

Actually, it wasn't as bad as I presumed. There's a difference between a quick reactionary jab and reaching back and cold cocking a woman. She lunged and he reacted. If you're the kind of guy who would absorb that then good for you. But a lot of homosapiens have a natural instinct to hit back. He used as much force as the situation called for, no more. His body language after the blow seemed remorseful. He clearly did not want to do that but the situation called for it in his estimation. I still think his suspension should've been longer though.

Video or not, he had all the pertinent facts. Nothing changes apart from the court of public opinion. I'm sure there is a "segment" of Rice/Ravens/NFL fans who could pretend this didn't really happen until they actually saw it. They'll be reacting now...

This guy should be cut immediately and suspended from the league indefinitely.

I haven't followed this story closely, other than to just read headlines.
Are there any reports as to what he was saying to the guy that approaches him outside the elevator when he's dragging her body out of the elevator?

Exactly what I assumed it would look like. She got a little mouthy, he didn't like it, he knocked her cold. Disgusting.

I'd be very surprised if the NFL hadn't already seen this.

Rice's story and the story coming out of the NFL was that we didn't know the whole story. Rice made it seem like it could have been accidental in some way (like he pushed her and she hit her head).

A straight up punch to the face is worst case scenario and the one that absolutely confirms every bit of criticism both Rice and the NFL have received.

What? Took him two punches to knock her out? Then the hand rail is probably what really knocked her out when her head hit it. He doesn't deserve credit for the knockout.

In all seriousness...he's a punk ### beeyotch. Cut the thug and roll with Pierce and Taliaferro.

Amazing that NFL players have been beating on women for decades and no one ever said a word until now.
This.

You know some people only care now because it means if they show disgust publicly they will be more socially accepted then those who dont.

It's too bad Ray Rice is a small, weak man who was unable to restrain a giant raging woman like that.

lol so you believed that Rice pushed her and she bumped her head thus knocking herself completely unconscious?

That will show him. Show your support for the woman by making her provider jobless. America at its finest.

Cutting him does nothing, he got a suspension, sorry 2 games does not satisfy you.

They get in the elevator. She goes to the left to push the elevator button. Rice corners her, she says something, she shoves him away with her left arm, he shoves her against the wall. What did Rice think was going to come out of that?

Then Rice backs away, she walks toward him, he knocks her unconscious.

Are you guys arguing that people shouldn't make a big deal about this?
No I'm not, I'm just suggesting if you thought it wasnt going to look like this you are out of touch with the world and must have not ever seen what a KO punch looks like.

What part of Ray knocked his wife out months ago did not make you think what yous aw in the video is what you were going to see.

After all, you had months to make a big deal out of this.

2 things:

1) the tmz article says that the league saw this same footage BEFORE handing out his suspension. I would imagine so did the ravens. So why they would now at this point backtrack and give extra punishment doesn't make sense.

2) apparently, his fiancé thinks he's a pretty good guy who just made a mistake BC SHE MARRIED him a month later.

So, really...who are we to judge? The truth is that we don't know everything that led up to this incident. She also looked like she was being very aggressive towards him.

It certainly does not excuse him from cold clocking her but to me it looked like he got very heated, lost his cool and his emotions and reacted.

People make mistakes. If he was that bad of a guy or a repeat offender why would she marry him after that?

I HAVE been making a big deal out of this for months. I always thought that he probably puncher her but the NFL's weak suspension made me think it was possible there was another possibility.

The fact that he DID in fact cold #### her makes all the lies and the lame suspension even worse.

Its a little difficult to feel that sorry for her. She still married the #####.
This, and you dont know what she said. She could have said "I slept with your best friend in our bed on your birthday and he was bigger and better.... oh, and he gave me herpes."

Wait people here would just walk away as if it is no big deal so I understand, everyone here is Jesus and words are not painful at all.

It is way worse than I could have ever imagined. Before they entered the elevator, it appears he spit on her, which caused her to swipe at him. Once on the elevator, it looks like he was anxious for the elevator to close so he could (maybe)spit on her again and then punch/slap her. That caused her to charge him whereupon he hits her, causing her to hit her head on the rail. Even without the KO, it's pretty despicable. If Goodell had access to that video and gave a two game suspension, he and Rice both need indefinite suspensions.

Yeah, that certainly justifies going Tyson on a woman, I'm sure we would all react the same way. (Rolling eyes)

that would still in no way justify punching a woman.

True but she has him by the balls now. One argument and all she has to do is bang her head and say that Rice did it and she'll be in for a nice pay day and he could face jail time. So now she is in control and Rice is this lady's Bi***. A happy ending for the victim!

Of course that assumes he doesn't kill her first.

who are we to judge?
We're other members of the society that Ray Rice and his victim/wife live in. The same society that has established and lived by the unwritten rule that it's wrong, pathetic, and cowardly to knock out a woman. Societal pressure and not wanting to be treated like a social outcast is what previously helped prevent men from cold-cocking women. The "Who are we to judge?" mindset is what allows that barbarism to go unchallenged. I have no problem judging people based on their actions. For instance, I judge you as a guy who parrots mindless cliches.

Gordon gets a year for smoking a joint, Matt Prater gets 4 games for drinking some beer. Sugar Ray Rice gets 2 games for molly whopping his wife. That was one of the best left hooks I have seen since Mike Tyson was in his prime.

His actions after she was obviously knocked out are even more disturbing. Instead of immediately trying to get her help, he's just dragging her out like it was nothing.

Quoted so more people can see this. Nothing new here people.

I admit, that made me lol. But I personally would not have hit her if she said all of that. I've put guys in the icu with one punch and this guy plays professional football for a living.

No man should hit a woman in that manner. Period.

I would have spit her her face. Made her walk home. Tossed her crap. And proceeded to bang every friend and relative of hers until my unit went inside my body.

Maybe take the high road and forgive her for her hurtful words and actions? Nah. But hit her like a man. Absolutely not.
