Might want to pick up Mike Davis if you are a Hyde owner or need a RB this week.@ProFootballTalk
49ers RB Carlos Hyde exits practice early with foot injury http://wp.me/p14QSB-9SQm
I'm not saying Davis is that good, I honestly don't know, but Davis would be the lead back if Hyde is out.Word is he couldn't plant off his hurt foot two days in a row. I haven't been impressed with Davis, gun to my head I'd take a shot on Hayne instead but realistically neither.
Sann Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Geep Chryst chatted with the media on Thursday, and he got a question about Carlos Hyde's injury status. The 49ers running back sat out Wednesday practice. He ended up practicing on Thursday ins limited fashion. Chryst compared Hyde's injury to a foot injury Jonathan Stewart dealt with coming out of Oregon. Here is what Chryst said
How serious do you think RB Carlos Hyde's foot injury is?
"You know, I was with [Carolina Panthers RB] Jonathan Stewart from Oregon at Carolina and I think that's probably the closest similarity that I have in the sense that Carlos runs hard as a back, you know. That first collision he had with [New York Giants LB] Jon Beason on the first drive, you can see how physical he is. So, as the course of the season goes on, you want to make sure that they're as fresh as possible on game day."
Do you think he's at risk of not playing Sunday?
"I can't say that one way or the other. Like I said, I can only go back to a point of reference that I had and Jonathan Stewart did a great job the years that I was with him with the Carolina Panthers where he didn't do a whole lot during the week and then played great on Sunday's. So, I would expect the same out of Carlos. That's what Carlos wants to do."
I looked back and could not find out much about Stewart's foot problems, so I emailed James Dator from Cat Scratch Reader, our Carolina Panthers blog. Here's what he had to say about Stewart:
Stewart carried foot injuries from his final year at Oregon. Every year he'd miss most of camp with foot injuries, then play the season and be totally fine. Finally in 2010 he decided to have off-season surgery to get it corrected once and for all. He's been fine since. Basically if it's the same injury then Hyde can play with pain and get injections but he'll likely need off-season surgery.
It remains to be seen how similar Hyde's injury is to Stewart, but this is potentially a little bit of context for his foot injury. My guess is we see him get some rest throughout the season during the week, and then playing on Sundays.
I like Mike Davis as a well rounded RB who can contribute as a runner or receiver. From the SEC so he has faced some good defensive competition.I'm not saying Davis is that good, I honestly don't know, but Davis would be the lead back if Hyde is out.Word is he couldn't plant off his hurt foot two days in a row. I haven't been impressed with Davis, gun to my head I'd take a shot on Hayne instead but realistically neither.
49ers coach Jim Tomsula suggested Carlos Hyde's foot injury is merely a bruise.
Tomsula said Hyde does not have plantar fasciitis, and that the issue isn't "anything serious." Between Tomsula's words and Hyde's guarantee that he'll suit up Thursday, he should be considered a go. He'll be a low-end RB2 in a tough matchup with the Seahawks.

he passes the eye test as one of the best rbs in football. Too bad hes on such a ####ty team. That being said the coaches know what they have here so he will get tons of volumeHeard today that he was second or third in broken tackles this year as a RB. I think the ceiling is pretty high here.
Oh my lord.i htink he stinks the joint up bromigos they should bench this bum and let the kid from christchurch jarryed haynes run wild take that to the bank brohans

Can you unpack that? What do you like about it? Do you also like watching the same Big Bang Theory episode over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again?I love swc. Speak for yourself brohan
He said brobowski instead of brohan. However your question about the BBT was extremely repetitive. For my money give me more SWC and less Sebowski posts. No offense. Can you unpack that? To stay on topic: Hyde or Lacy ROS?

(RotoWire)Hyde (foot) is listed as questionable for Thursday's contest against the Seahawks, the 49ers' official site reports.
Analysis: Hyde's practice reps were limited all week, but he seems poised to head the 49ers' backfield yet again. While fellow back Reggie Bush (calf) is probable for the Week 7 outing, he's managed just four carries and one reception in three games to date, so he's unlikely to pilfer many, if any, touches from Hyde. Hyde's most difficult obstacle to production Thursday will be Seattle's defense itself, which has held opposing backs to 3.6 YPC and two touchdowns this season.
In 1PPR they've given up the 3rd fewest at 17.7ppg. There's so much going against Hyde this week (short week, foot injury, Reggie Bush probable, negative gameflow, #### match-up) that I don't see how anyone can start him.So fbg email says Hyde had a good matchup.... In my 0.5ppr, sea has given up the fewest points to rb position this year... Confused how that gets a good matchup grade

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Carlos Hyde (foot, questionable) is "good to go" for Thursday night against the Seahawks.
Hyde was listed as questionable on the injury report, but he was always expected to play. Hyde's foot injury appeared to be a real concern against the Ravens last week, and it is unlikely to be any healthier against Seattle. He will be a low-end RB2 at less than 100 percent in the tough matchup.

My RBs aside from him are Abdullah, West, Vereen, D. Johnson and Matt Jones :X and I still never even contemplated starting him this week. After seeing him stop at the LOS and fall down without contact because he was in so much pain just four days ago, I just can't even debate starting him.I'm forced to start him due to byes...but certainly don't feel good about it. For much of the same reason (plus the difficult) matchup, I can't bring myself to start him this week,My RBs aside from him are Abdullah, West, Vereen, D. I'll reiterate I don't think he'll do well this week. BUT...He came back in and had the best run of the day after going down. Even with a bad ypc, he gets so many carries that he'll still probably get 60 yards, with the chance of putting up much more +TD. I know things don't look great going in, but I would start Hyde over your other options. At least he'll get 15-20 opportunities to break one off...something those other guys can't say.My RBs aside from him are Abdullah, West, Vereen, D. The problem is he doesn't catch many balls. In ppr I like Duke because he's more likely to get 6 catches than Hyde is to score.mikel0254 said:I'll reiterate I don't think he'll do well this week.
