RB Chase Brown, CIN (2 Viewers)

Sounds like Moss is ok:

I never wish injuries on anyone but I was excited to see what a game from Brown would look like if he was the unquestioned RB1.
I'd still say it's a coinflip Moss is back next week. We've seen a lot of teams saying "minor ankle injury" on Monday and then they still miss at least a week.

RB Zack Moss, Cincinnati | Ankle Injury | Projecting Week 9 Return

Zack Moss missed a portion of Sunday's game with an ankle injury. Moss was able to return but did not look 100%. Moss' mechanism of injury fit that of a high ankle sprain. If this is confirmed, those can result in multiple weeks missed (3), with the majority of NFL RBs missing at least one game.
is that outdated though based on the recent report?

I got the email just now. I'll include @Joe Bryant and he can chime in.

We'll hopefully have more info on this today.

As our Adam Hutchison wrote, it fit the mechanism (meaning it looked like it could have been) a high ankle sprain. But that's just from seeing video of the injury. There will be actual medical diagnosis today from Colts Staff and we'll know a lot more.

I'm sure you meant Bengals staff.

Fantasy gods giveth, fantasy gods taketh away

(Rotowire) Coach Zac Taylor relayed Friday that Moss (foot) is good to go for Sunday night's game against the Giants, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site and Ben Baby of ESPN.com report. Analysis: The same applies to fellow RB Chase Brown (quadricep), which ensures that the Bengals will maintain backfield continuity in Week 6. Though the team's first five games this season, Moss has logged 57 carries for 211 yards and two TDs and caught 15 passes for 124 yards and a receiving score, while Brown has carried 41 times for 230 yards and two TDs and added 10 catches for 39 yards and a lone receiving score.

Do we actually know he’s playing tonight?
No crystal ball, but the latest report is
NEWS ARTICLES > RB CHASE BROWN: SHOULD PLAY SUNDAY NIGHT
PUBLISHED SAT OCT 12 2:38:51 P.M. CT 2024
(Rotowire) Brown (quadricep), who is listed as questionable for Sunday night's contest against the Giants, is expected to play, Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports reports.
Analysis: Head coach Zac Taylor confirmed as much talking with the media Friday, but it's still a sigh of relief for fantasy managers given the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff could have complicated some decisions. Expect Brown and Zack Moss to continue operating in the tandem that has seen the running backs total three touchdowns each on the young campaign.

Last night was the first Bengals game I watched from start to finish. I came away unimpressed with Brown. I do have a speculative share of him in a keeper league.

As a receiver, he seems to always go down at first contact. A couple 1-on-1 situations with a CB/safety and couldn't evade them.

It's harder to evaluate him as a runner from one's couch. The fumble was awful, in terms of how he had the ball secured. While I don't doubt his speed, it's hard to see it running between the tackles. The eye test is perilous, but Tyrone Tracy for the Giants looked to have burst through the hole, while Brown did not.

Moss also had a bad fumble and doesn't look like anything more than a JAG, so Brown at least should have playing time in front of him.

Curious if others saw what I saw last night.

I must have watched a different game than you. I came away impressed by Brown.

It's all good, that's why I asked!

Significant changing of the guard for the first time all year we see Chase start and play more snaps. I'll be more excited if we see that again next week, that this was not due to Moss's ankle or anything game script dependent but if this is how it is going forward he moves from borderline kind of lineup guy to must start status for me.

I think this is being overlooked. There were initial reports that Moss suffered a high ankle sprain and likely out a couple of weeks. It was a surprise he played at all. I have to believe that that was a factor into playing time.

Agree. Fishy.

Panicky Z. Moss owner dropped him. Thinking of picking him up. Something tells me this situation isn't as straightforward as most Brown owners would like it to be.

Like I said in my post I really don't know if the shift was due to Moss's ankle or that Chase Brown's role was growing and either way I'll need to see it another week to feel like he's really taken the top spot but I am starting him with more confidence this just just the same.

I do think it's fair to point out that Chase Brown was the only one of the two that entered the game with an injury designation. In fact the late Saturday night/early Sunday tweets from guys like Shefter saying he was good to go actually concerned me, because I did not think it was really in doubt.

I'm so on the fence if I start Brown over Aiyuk this week. I feel like the Bengals should stomp the Browns, which bodes well for RBs late in the game. However most people I have read say to start Aiyuk. That San Fran random weekly pecking order sure sucks to be a part of.

I have Chase and love him as a player. That O is sure fun to be a part of and he is getting more touches than Moss these days, but unfortunately Moss will always be a thorn in his side.

I am thinking of moving him with something else for a WR upgrade but that's TBD.

I tried acquiring Chase twice but was denied. It was to a team that needed a QB. He was not interested in Purdy or Mahomes. Don’t blame him.

Never, EVER, thought I would live to see the day where Mahomes (prior to age 40) was declined in a trade for a timeshare RB. But here we are.

What do people think of Brown ROS?
Top 12 PPR RB.

Set it and forget it RB2 with upside.

In an offense with a good vertical game, his explosiveness + open lanes = FF success.

he’s looked better than Moss every game I’ve watched, and his role has been steadily increasing.

Of course I’ve been driving this bus since preseason, when I made him a dynasty target in 2 leagues. :drive:

That’s wild.

The Brown brothers finally square off. For the first time, Bengals running back Chase Brown and Eagles safety Sydney Brown – identical twins -- will square off in a game today. They grew up together in Canada, played together in high school and at the University of Illinois, and now will face off today.

B/R Gridiron
Ronde Barber is the only identical twin to ever tackle their brother in an NFL game

Sydney Brown can be the 2nd in history if he tackles his brother Chase Brown today
