Jeff Darlington reported that Eagles are considering trading up for McCaffery
Yikes. How much would it cost? Maybe get rid of Mathews, kelcy, or someone else as a throw in?Jeff Darlington reported that Eagles are considering trading up for McCaffery
Sure, but we are talking top 10 pick here. I could see them adding a RB later in the draft as Forte and Powell are both up there in age. Those are not mutually exclusive statements.
I'm thinking 14 and the rest depends on how far up...to 9-10 maybe just one of our 4's?Yikes. How much would it cost? Maybe get rid of Mathews, kelcy, or someone else as a throw in?

I went to a few trade value charts and it looks like a 4 and 5 could get you to 10. Or, very close anyway. It's gonna cost more than that
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline reports that the Eagles are "infatuated" with Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, McCaffrey looks very much like he will already have found an NFL home before they pick at No. 14. Pauline writes that the Eagles would likely have to trade up past the Panthers (No. 8) if they are to select him, though whether or not the Panthers legitimately have interest in McCaffrey or are just trying to bamboozle the opposition is another matter entirely.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora wrote that he "[w]ouldn't be shocked if the Chargers beat the Panthers to the punch on selecting Christian McCaffrey."
The Chargers hold pick No. 7, one slot ahead of Carolina. A move for McCaffrey would be an interesting one, as the team already houses Melvin Gordon in the backfield. The Panthers, meanwhile, have been linked to both McCaffrey and LSU's Leonard Fournette, though Mike Florio of PFT reported earlier on Thursday that the team's supposed interest in McCaffrey is "likely a smokescreen."

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey is "likely" to go in the top 10.
McCaffrey has been most heavily linked to the Panthers at No. 8 (though a source speaking with Profootball deemed that connected a "smokescreen.") Other teams that could consider McCaffrey in the top-10 are the Jets at No. 6, the Chargers at No. 7 and the Bengals at No. 9.

I had posted the other day the Chargers are the team I felt Jeremiah was referring to when he said he thought he'd be gone by pick 8 and followed that up with comment about a team set at RB would still have interest and that's who he put on his last mock today, McCaffrey to Chargers.CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora wrote that he "[w]ouldn't be shocked if the Chargers beat the Panthers to the punch on selecting Christian McCaffrey."
Man that mock he just put out is like fantasy heaven.I had posted the other day the Chargers are the team I felt Jeremiah was referring to when he said he thought he'd be gone by pick 8 and followed that up with comment about a team set at RB would still have interest and that's who he put on his last mock today, McCaffrey to Chargers.
I'm guessing Chargers are interested but might like some defensive players more and depends who is left.
Won't have to speculate much longer but if he goes to the Chargers it will provide a good example of his high floor. Even if he goes to a team with a young highly pedigreed RB coming off a strong season he's still a top 6 dynasty pick, at least I would think so at least in PPR leagues.
Ha, I just e-mailed that mock to someone I share a dynasty team with and we have picks 1-6 and I told him if this was anything close to how it works out we are going to be happy.Man that mock he just put out is like fantasy heaven.
The kid appears to be a stud and I'm eager to see if he can do it again this year. If he comes close to matching last year's numbers, you have to assume he'll go top half of the 1st round.
No matter what he does he won't be drafted in the top half of the first round. At best he is the 4th RB taken.
I'm calling top 5 now, barring injury. This guy is super special and he did what he did last year at 19 years old. I can't wait to see what he does this season. I'm thinking 2,500 all purpose yards is his floor. His coaches say he's in better physical shape this season than last. He's only 20 and still growing and developing. Sky's the limit.

He didn't go top 5, but I think it's fair to say:You're calling top 5 picks in the first round!? That shows a stunning lack of football knowledge. There is no chance he goes before Fournette, Cook, or Chubb.
Didn't you guys already do this once?He didn't go top 5, but I think it's fair to say:

Well, it wasn't quite official on Tuesday. Yes, I'll move on.Didn't you guys already do this once?
Can we move on?

Nailed it. About as bad a landing spot as possible outside BUF and NYJ. sCam will also steal most if not all inside 5 yards TDs.Man, I wish he had gone somewhere else. Carolina loves to rotate backs, and Cam's lack of touches on short passes could hurt his ability to do a lot with YAC.
I dunno. I don't think it's that bad a landing spot. It's one of the more relevant offenses, so that's a positive. I could see them upgrading Offensive Coordinator sooner than later, as well. JStew is now 30, so he's barely a threat in dynasty.Nailed it. About as bad a landing spot as possible outside BUF and NYJ. sCam will also steal most if not all inside 5 yards TDs.
Not so fast. We can expect Stewart to limit McCaffrey running for at least two years.I dunno. I don't think it's that bad a landing spot. It's one of the more relevant offenses, so that's a positive. Carolina Panthers: Christian McCaffrey, RB – McCaffrey is underrated if you can believe it. Similar to David Johnson when he came out and people over-emphasizing his receiving ability, McCaffrey’s between the tackle power and elusiveness gets overlooked. He will step in and be the Panthers best running back as a rookie with Jonathan Stewart relegated to backup work. He truly has three-down ability with the vision and explosiveness to be a solid RB2 as a rookie. That assumes McCaffrey sees lead-role work, but that’s a safe assumption with the draft cost the Panthers are making here.
That's definitely possible which is why having a taxi squad is great. But if McCaffrey is as special as I personally think he is, I'd expect his coaches to want him on the field early and often. We'll see. Can't wait for training camp. Not so fast. We can expect Stewart to limit McCaffrey running for at least two years.
Doubt they want McCaffrey to carry the ball 300 times anyways. But they spent the 8th overall pick on him. Hes not gonna be Stewarts backup. Not so fast. We can expect Stewart to limit McCaffrey running for at least two years.
Then they are in big trouble because an elite passer he is not. He's near the bottom of the barrel. His big year, they had about as candyass schedule as Manning ahd when he broke the TD pass record...which was THE candyass schedule of all candyass schedules.Cam will have 5-6 rushing TDs. Hes getting beat up. His days of running all over the field are over.
This. And Stewart is only signed for one more year, no?Doubt they want McCaffrey to carry the ball 300 times anyways. But they spent the 8th overall pick on him. Hes not gonna be Stewarts backup.
Also Stewart is coming off a 3.8yd per rush year, hasnt had a 1k rush year in 8 years, and I think is pretty cheap to cut after this year ( correct me if im wrong on that though)That's definitely possible which is why having a taxi squad is great. But if McCaffrey is as special as I personally think he is, I'd expect his coaches to want him on the field early and often. We'll see. Can't wait for training camp.
Part of the reason for drafting McCaffrey imo. Short high percentage throws. Willing to bet he catches atleast 70 balls this year. Then they are in big trouble because an elite passer he is not. He's near the bottom of the barrel.
Cam is awesome at making plays with his feet (although who knows if that will change after all of the hits he has taken) and heaving the deep ball. He is really inconsistent on short passes; he has zero touch on short passes. Then they are in big trouble because an elite passer he is not. He's near the bottom of the barrel.
Which is why the McCaffrey pick is not going to work out well. Without his feet, we saw last year that he basically sucks.Cam is awesome at making plays with his feet (although who knows if that will change after all of the hits he has taken) and heaving the deep ball. Dunno about that. Greg Olsen has been a monster.Which is why the McCaffrey pick is not going to work out well. Without his feet, we saw last year that he basically sucks.
Really?Doubt they want McCaffrey to carry the ball 300 times anyways. But they spent the 8th overall pick on him. Hes not gonna be Stewarts backup.
You don't draft a guy that high and then don't use him. You act like Stewart is something special.Really?
What does that even mean? That he wins games? Well, he does have a winning record in the NFL, but has had a losing record in four of his six seasons.Cam is a winner and not far from a HOF path. I think with a little work, he can get better at short passes. I can't imagine that being a difficult skill to increase compared to other facets of the position.
Ask Donovan?Cam is a winner and not far from a HOF path. I think with a little work, he can get better at short passes. I can't imagine that being a difficult skill to increase compared to other facets of the position.
I'm just saying it isn't going to happen for a year or two. Stewart isn't vanishing off the planet. You don't draft a guy that high and then don't use him. You act like Stewart is something special.
Nailed it. Mr. Bounce pass. That guy was one of the worst at short passes and he was way better than Cam as a passer. It's too late for Cam to become a touch passer. If you have been around that long and haven't be able to perfect it, you won't.Ask Donovan?
Wat? Cam doesn't nor will he score close to all of the inside 5 yd TDs, and there are plenty of TDs that occur outside of 5 yds.Nailed it. About as bad a landing spot as possible outside BUF and NYJ. sCam will also steal most if not all inside 5 yards TDs.
Stewart will not vanish but McCaffrey was not going to get 300 carries no matter where he went but splitting carries and soaking up receptions will be enough to give him both a high floor and a high ceilingI'm just saying it isn't going to happen for a year or two. Stewart isn't vanishing off the planet.
He doesn't have to vanish off the planet to become the #2....I'm just saying it isn't going to happen for a year or two. Stewart isn't vanishing off the planet.
I see what your saying but, last year in my PPR league Stewart had 145 points, Yeldon had 136. Are you staying away from Fournettte because of Yeldon? Yeldon isnt vanishing off the planet and will vulture passing downs (are Jags normally down or up?) and possibly 2 min drills. Personally Id like to get Fournette.I'm just saying it isn't going to happen for a year or two. Stewart isn't vanishing off the planet.
Well, good luck with that. Bottom line is he landed in a really bad spot. He could have landed in INDY or TB or GB for instance.Wat? Cam doesn't nor will he score close to all of the inside 5 yd TDs, and there are plenty of TDs that occur outside of 5 yds.
