Thinking of starting DeAngelo if Foster doesn't play this week. Any updates from today?

KFFL) Carolina Panthers RB DeShaun Foster (elbow) practiced Friday, Nov. 24, and is questionable for Week 12.

So is starting Williams starting to look like a good option this week?

Just saw a stat the Panthers average over 31 rushes in their 6 wins. If you believe they'll beat Washington it's a good bet that DeAngelo will get at least half of those touches, regardless of whether Foster plays.

Nothing much in new news here. Likely dreaded GTD. Either way DeAngelo will be busy.

RB D. Foster Practices Friday, Still Questionable

Darin Gantt, Rock Hill herald - [Full Article]

RB DeShaun Foster, CB Ken Lucas, and OG Mike Wahle returned to practice Friday, though all remain listed as questionable for Sunday. All were held out of Thursday's practice.

The problem I have with DW is he has only one TD and only 10 rec this year. Even if he gets 20 carries like last week that would equate to 100 rush yrds....with no TD's and 1-2 receptions that is only 10-12 FF pts.....

I have DW and hope he breaks out the rest of the year as I want to keep him, but for me I am starting Wali Lundy this week over him.

In leagues where you get KR yardage I think he is a great play but I still dont know if he will be returning kicks if hes the starter.

I'm in the same boat. I'm going to start Lundy over him but now I'm considering starting Jennings over Lundy.

Man....that is a coin flip....good luck buddy!

Just to confuse matters more, I'll mention this odd stat:

Best two teams in rushing TDs against - Chicago and Washington, 3.

Washington???

That stat should change without Portis, Brunell, and having a gimpy S.Moss to control the clock on offense. I see a lot of 3 and outs for the Redskin offense in this game, also I think that Carolina can keep the Washington D on the field and wear them down. JMO though

I am leaning towards starting DW over T.Jones if he starts. I am not sold on Lundy, he is still 50/50 w/Gado, jmo.

easy decision imo...dw all the way

Who is this John Czarnecki?? Is he a hack? He is the one saying Williams will start and he quotes no sources.

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this Fox writer or not.

Here is the article that Rotoworld is pulling this info from: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6208094

Panthers QB Jake Delhomme has been struggling and he probably won't have RB DeShaun Foster (hyper-extended elbow). Rookie DeAngelo Williams will start. Vernon Fox replaces injured Redskins safety Troy Vincent, and that's not good news because Washington's cornerbacks have struggled in man coverage

Guy on Sportscenter who was just going over today's matchups (not sure who it is, I am in the next room) said that "even without Foster, ...," implying that Foster would not play today.

I expect we'll have our answer in the next hour.

Conflicting Reports this morning, sounds like a dreaded GTD?

Panthers RB Foster May Play?

Stan Olson, Charlotte Observer - [Full Article]

It appeared RB DeShaun Foster's hyperextended elbow would sideline him today, but he practiced Friday and should play. That will disappoint a lot of RB DeAngelo Williams' fans after Williams rushed for 114 yards a week ago. But you can't overlook the fact that Foster had 63 yards on nine carries (7.0 average) before being injured in the second quarter. LINK

Foster hasn't played well when he was 100%. Why would anyone think he is going to play well when he is gimpy. I'm starting Williams and not thinking twice about it.

I'm definitely starting DeAngelo over Deuce McAllister as my #2 FF RB this week.

Even if Foster plays, I would imagine that Williams will get the lion's share of the carries. I don't envision Carolina having any difficulty with the porous Redskin run defense, so Williams should really rack up the numbers, especially at garbage time.

Williams should get 100 total yards and a TD if Foster plays, and even more if he doesn't.

Well some guys may have a viable option (like Jennings for me). That's why we are on hold status.

DeShaun Foster, RB CAR

News: Carolina RB DeShaun Foster is inactive for Sunday's game against Washington. He is dealing with an elbow injury.

Analysis: Reserve Foster immediately and keep an eye on his status for Week 13 against Philadelphia. DeAngelo Williams will start in his place.

CAR - RB Foster OUT - Williams To Start

Summary: RB DeShaun Foster will miss today's game for Carolina and DeAngelo Williams will get the starting opportunity he's been looking for. Nick Goings will likely see time as well.

Reluctantly starting Williams over Addai. Mainly because Williams isn't part of RBBC today.

Will Williams get the GL carries or will it be Hoover or Goings? I think he gets 20+ carries, but worried about the TD opportunities.

So now that Foster is out, who is starting Williams? Who are you sitting?
I'm going to start him over Fitz at my flex spot. Fitz has the chance to put up donot numbers and at least Foster should put up so-so numbers for a RB. Fitz will probably go off now though.

would you put DWill over FWP this week, given that the Raven's defense gets Ray Lewis back (and is playing well, anyway)?

Not to throw a wet towel over all the DWill love, but are we sure that Hoover won't see action as well, esp. in short yardage?

He got 7 carries last week, presumably after Foster went down, so I can see him getting significant action today as well.

Just saying ...

3 carries came in the 1st half, 4 came in the 2nd half (and he fumbled on one of those). Nick Goings also got a few carries, but I'm not worried.

Good point. DWill probably has the best chance of scoring on longer runs outside of the 10 yd line or so. Shortage yardage situations at the endzone might be Hoover carries.

FBG Cheatsheets ended up with DWill at #18 for the week, last update was at 12:12 today to the cheatsheets.

#18 will be WAY too low by the end of today's games IMHO, I'm expecting top 10 numbers.
