Michigan RB Hassan Haskins (ankle) was forced to withdraw from the Senior Bowl due to injury.

Haskins (6'1/220) sustained the injury in the CFP semi-final game against Georgia where he rushed just nine times for 39 yards due to the ailment. On the year the rugged interior ball carrier rushed 270 times for 1,327 yards, 4.9 YPC and twenty touchdowns for the Wolverines. He was one of the highest graded running backs on Pro Football Focus, earning an overall grade of 91.3, with a rushing grade of 89.3. Haskins forced a total of 56 missed tackles on the year and had 16 breakaway runs (runs of 15 or more yards) which account for 28.8% of his rushing yards on the season. He will hope to be back up to speed for the NFL Scouting Combine in early March.

Michigan RB Hassan Haskins rushed for the most first downs of any running back from a power five conference in 2021.

Haskins (6'1/220) is a really interesting prospect and has some great qualities. Certainly, his size is something teams are looking for, but also has the incredible speed to get to the secondary and has the toughness to take hits. He's also an all-purpose back with great hands to catch the ball in the backfield and is good in pass protection. His stats were also phenomenal as he finished 17th in rushing yards (1,327), tied for fourth in rushing touchdowns (20), to go along with 4.9 yards per carry. According to PFF, Hassan led all running backs from the power five conferences with 103 first downs, 18 more than the next. Interestingly enough, this doesn't have the Wolverines back ranked in their top 12. Thought of as a mid-round pick, there's some possible upside and great value for whoever picks him up.

Michigan RB Hassan Haskins leads all power five backs in carries without a fumble.

So much goes into being a talented back in the NFL -- speed, agility, and toughness come to mind, but also dependability, and Haskins (6'1/220) has that. The former Michigan running back had the most rushing attempts without a fumble since 2019 with 452. Two years without a fumble is a big deal and that will certainly get a team's attention. He hasn't been talked about much during the predraft, especially as he recovers from an ankle injury, but teams are going to be looking at him as a mid-round and possibly the fifth or sixth running back taken off the board.

Titans selected Michigan RB Hassan Haskins with the No. 131 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Haskins (6'2/227) had easily his most productive college season in 2021, rushing for 1,327 yards and 20 touchdowns on 270 carries and gaining another 131 yards through the air. The performance earned him a spot on the first-team All-Big Ten team. He was unable to participate in the Senior Bowl or test in the pre-draft process after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Michigan's playoff loss to Georgia, but he did log an impressive 27 reps on the bench. That strength is a hallmark of his game. Haskins consistently drives through contact and has the balance to break tackles and keep going. He is never going to be a home run hitter, but he can grind out yards as the power complement in a backfield committee if given the opportunity. Haskins gives the Titans another mountainous running back on the depth chart behind Derrick Henry. Dontrell Hilliard is currently penciled in as the pass-catching specialist.

not for long I'd say ;)
Maybe.

Hilliard is the perfect player for summer though. He bounced around and was out of the league and then got his chance and did very well with it. It's not easy to beat out a guy with a chip on his shoulder.

Haskins has everything favoring his side, no doubt, but it should be a decent camp battle.

Haskins has to prove he's a between the tackles runner at the NFL level and can replace Henry some day. No one wonders that with Hilliard- he's totally complimentary.

As a backup position, he's smooth with catch and runs and picks up the blitz fine and can dart thru the line from a shotgun handoff. Haskins probably can do all this but it's gonna take time for him to adjust and best Hilliard. It's not necessarily Haskins style of play.

He's well behind Hilliard
If Henry misses time, I’d be being on H2 to carry the load by mid season. I don’t think he’s a CoP guy with the Titans nor the 2 in most games while DH starts.  Fwiw, I made sure to take him where I have DH.

Yeah me too. Totally.

But we all want some production when Henry is healthy and that's what I was referring to

Audible podcast a week back mentioned that something called Julius Chestnut was the standout RB behind Henry.   Not sure that I'm putting a lot of stock in that at this point, but pushing aside Julius Chestnut would definitely be my prerequisite before getting excited about Haskins as the next man up.

He did well in rookie mini camp and faded to fourth string once veterans showed up. His name is not mentioned or barely in articles now

Only one Chestnut worth discussing over the next several weeks 🌭

Derrick Henry Injury News: Is Hassan Haskins Worth a Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickup?

Excerpt:

Given the short turnaround before their Week 17 game, there’s a real possibility that Derrick Henry‘s injury keeps him out for this week. And with backup running back Dontrell Hilliard on the IR, that would leave just Hassan Haskins and Julius Chestnut in the backfield for the Titans. Regardless of the outcome of the Cowboys game, the Titans (7-8) would still have to defeat the Jaguars (7-8) in Week 18 to win the AFC South, making rest a more likely scenario for several key contributors.

“We’ve got some guys that have played a lot of football for us that are far less than 100 percent,” Vrabel said, via Nick Suss of the Tennessean. “It’s those guys that I appreciate that no matter what find a way to be here for this team. We’ll try to figure out who we have and who’s available and then make some decisions.”

Haskins has served as the primary kick returner for Tennessee in his rookie season. The Michigan product has 11 carries for 50 yards on the season, adding 31 receiving yards. He would be the priority over Chestnut if Henry does miss Thursday’s game.

The Titans will also be without starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who suffered what’s likely a season-ending ankle injury during Week 15. Per BetMGM, the Titans are currently 10-point underdogs at home against the Cowboys. They are +200 to win the AFC South.

I’m considering flexing Hassan over Gabe Davis in PPR. Am I crazy? Anyone else thinking of starting him tonight?

I roster Hankins in 3 leagues, 2 in championship games this weekend, and I’m not considering him for a second. The Titans are sitting this one out against Cowboys and putting it all in for next weekend. Maybe the titans don’t score a single point this weekend.

Outlook for next year? Derrick Henry handcuff or that’s not even assured at this point?
Probably a better question to ask after the NFL Draft but I’m bored on a day off and reviewing my dynasty rosters :)

🤷 I’m starting to buy into the idea that there’s a chance DH gets traded so H2 is a hold imo. I drafted him in the 5th last year as Henry’s handcuff. Off hand would need a 3rd now.

Not even assured to be that but worth holding if you have space. At least through camp.

July 10th hearing date.
While it's usually just preliminary stuff, Haskins and his girlfriend (also arrested) there's some likelihood that they are pushing for the fastest trial/plea.

The gist of it is a bad bad fight and two wrongs don't make a right.

The Titans are owned by Bud's daughter and his son is a minority owner/league lawyer. Whatever the proper steps are, they'll follow, as Kenneth is a famous lawyer that has helped write league policy and literally represented the league and teams. He's really a fascinating dude if you want to Google him.

Amy is a domestic violence survivors advocate and it's clearly an issue she's passionate about.

I can't imagine the league has much concern of how the Titans will handle it. That's the perfect duo to handle a domestic scenario.

I've read "why isn't this bigger news" and besides Haskins only being a backup playing a part, I totally think it's because everyone is sitting back waiting for Amy and Kenneth to handle it. Maybe they set some precedent. Maybe they...idk legal stuff, but this is in good hands and certain to be handled well.

I’m surprised to see him playing. Assumed he’d be released.
The Titans have a female owner and she must have thoughts and a plan that's just not shared. Her and her brother spoke with the NFL and with zero further comment, I'm guessing they agreed on whatever it is.

Cuts are the 29th his court date is the 30th.

His lawyer should probably be pushing this off so he can play. There's been no indication of that.

The woman is still his gf on social media for what that's worth.
She can possibly change her story but they photographed choke marks so I can't imagine the judge discards anything even if a complete change so her bf can earn big $.

It's been curiously silent. The quick turnaround for trial date is wayyy better than any other player issue I can recall. Kudos to Nashville on that.
