Since Estime had that knee procedure, might it just DEN needs to see him in pads, running strong, before they can explore trades with Williams?
Denver is kind of making over their roster, i would think a pick is more valuable to them than a cast off. Williams could be good this year.If Williams is truly on the bubble, some contender should be trying to acquire him for a day 3 pick. Like Baltimore, or Houston (assuming they have soured on Pierce, maybe swap for each other?) or the aforementioned Dallas.
In 2023 wasn't Williams less than one year removed from a major knee injury? Hasn't players shown they are much better two years removed from such an injury? Are we ignoring this? Now if Williams doesn't take a big leap forward in 2024 I'll jump off the train, but not yet.Guy averages 50 yards per game and not even half a TD.
We've been through this before with other players. This well timed article stirs up discussion which will then bring all his predraft fans back down to earth and evaluating him more reasonably. That's it. It's what we do.
Estime looks good. McLaughlin looks quick. Pot stirred.
Maybe somewhere in here Javonte needs to hear this too. Maybe he needs a wakeup call to...something....and be ready to rock when camp starts.
Estime is what 16th round? This makes selecting him a little more fun too.
We all know it's gotta play out and Javonte is the favorite.

Do you mean tallest little people stuff? Let’s not forget political correctness.Other than the possibility of him getting cut or leading the team in rush share or snaps, I think it's equally concerning that we could end up with a 4 headed monster in a bad offense, rendering them all just about useless in fantasy. Being high on Javonte could end up tallest midget stuff..
Wikipedia tells me you're correct. Midget is considered offensive which I should have checked before posting.Do you mean tallest little people stuff? he won't be cut because there's no chance he lands on practice squad. They'll roll the dice on SamajeThis guy is far too talented to be cut. Maybe Payton was riding Brees all those years.
He won't be a FA for long.
And this belief is based on zero new information. The Denver Posts’ Troy Renck believes Javonte Williams and Samaje Perine could be battling for a final roster spot in the Broncos’ backfield.

I wonder how Tatum Bell looksHC Sean Payton said RB Javonte Williams has lost some weight. Also mentioned him when asked who stood out at practice today.“I thought Javonte looked real sharp
Prolly happy? His son is getting a lot of offers to play college football. Ha ha. I guess my point is people post info from beat writers why not words from the actual coach. Most of us realize this time of year the talk means little. Williams could be traded. Could be cut. Could lead the team in rushing attempts. My opinion is that he leads the team in rushing attempts, but my opinion means little.I wonder how Tatum Bell looksHC Sean Payton said RB Javonte Williams has lost some weight. Totally agree. Words from the coach are worth hearing - certainly at least as relevant as beat writers.Prolly happy? His son is getting a lot of offers to play college football. Ha ha. Gotta love them beat writersPayton named Williams as a player who stood out during the first day of training camp and praised him for his speed
And I'm old enough to remember that scene. Great movie.Whenever I see the phrase beat writer all I can picture is John Candy from a the ending credits from ”Stripes”Totally agree. Words from the coach are worth hearing - certainly at least as relevant as beat writers.
First there was crazy talk about Javonte Williams being on the bubble, now he’s back to RB1 talk after shedding weight and coach praise. Don’t put too much stock into what these beat writers say.Cecil went from he looked still a step slow to he looked good.
Gotta watch this one
Media in general is so much more about clicks then info it's sad. I haven't waivered. I think Javonte about to have an okay season as the primary RB for them. I own zero shares. Yet.First there was crazy talk about Javonte Williams being on the bubble, now he’s back to RB1 talk after shedding weight and coach praise. I personally want to thank Cecil for his ridiculous take on this situation. There was no way he was going to be cut. Traded, maybe. Less playing time, maybe. But cut, no way. It allowed me to buy a starting RB WAY below actual value.First there was crazy talk about Javonte Williams being on the bubble, now he’s back to RB1 talk after shedding weight and coach praise. Did you by any chance catch the Sean Payton/Cecil/Lance Krull incidents?I personally want to thank Cecil for his ridiculous take on this situation. There was no way he was going to be cut. Fantasy footballers are so quick to overreact to the smallest tidbit of information. It's almost as if it is a newby reaction of sorts, even coming from seasoned players.I personally want to thank Cecil for his ridiculous take on this situation. Cecil is a beat writer from FBG that used to come here often. I couldn't put more stock in what he says and he more comfortable with it. He's honest and says what he sees. Calling a guy out one day saying he's sharp the next...I appreciate that. We know all too well a lot of guys that cling to a narrative and don't do that.First there was crazy talk about Javonte Williams being on the bubble, now he’s back to RB1 talk after shedding weight and coach praise. He's had several more positive Javonte tweets. Not to speak for him, but he's likely changed his overall opinion by now. I don't watch his Broncos stuff usually. Just human nature. I see he and Bloom alot then onto another FBG thing and my head doesn't seem to remember same guy but team related. I would just...I'm old or idk. I read a ton from him.
I especially like that honesty at the senior bowl and college stuff. 99% wrote "this player is good" or bad and try to make that come true or somesuch weirdness. Cecil will tweet woah! Nice catch! Or whatever the heck he sees that catches his eye and...I can absolutely relate.
He was possibly cut by at least a few writers and in no way just Cecil.I personally want to thank Cecil for his ridiculous take on this situation. There was no way he was going to be cut. Jaleel will have PPR value. The Javonte hype is great for those of us that like Jaleel....keep Jaleel's price depressed.
Jaleel will have PPR value.
Jaleel will have PPR value.
correct, the best value in the Denver backfield IMHO
I honestly question if his spot was ever in danger. I don't think Cecil talked to anyone who implied that. I believe you that Javonte probably looked sluggish and Cecil ran with it.Here's what happened to my understanding. During OTAs and minicamp, Javonte was looking sluggish, slow and overweight. Sean Peyton had a talk with him before the break, and Javonte proceeded to drop 11 pounds in five weeks. He's then looked completely different in camp. He's faster, more athletic, has acceleration and looks closer to his pre-injury form.
So far in camp, the Broncos really like Jaleel McLaughlin and Estime. Blake Watson is on the NFI list and still hasn't practiced in camp yet. Perine really impressed in OTAs, but not so much in camp. With Javontes improved conditioning, he looks safe to make the team and very likely to be the starter again.
The way I interpreted Cecil's original post was: Jaleel and the fullback are locked into their specialty roles and the team is likely to keep only two more backs. We know what Perine is, a good backup but not somebody you want as your starter. That leaves Javonte and Estime battling for the starter spot. If Estime wins the starter job, then Javonte might be cut. If Javonte wins the job, then Estime will be the backup and Perine gets cut. Watson is probably a practice squad guy no matter what.He was possibly cut by at least a few writers and in no way just Cecil.I personally want to thank Cecil for his ridiculous take on this situation. At this point, I'm still not certain what happens.Estime has impressed still. Original discussion I saw or heard was everyone apparently believes the 2 and 3 are locked in in Denver so who is the RB1? I don't like or support this premise but backs have changed and their usage and here I am a Titans fan and everyone loving their two scat backs as lead backs so I'm certainly open to the premise being correct.
Back to it, IIRC the conversation was trading a back to the Cowboys or some other team too. I think I'd trade Javonte. (There's an assumed pov that coaches would have to be confident in young Estime) Javonte is always hurt and if the Boys came knocking, I'd do it because besides obvious- I don't think the Broncos are very good. I even wonder if Payton is looking for too much patience and will be let go especially if Nix struggles. I'd want a good pick if I can get one

It makes 0 sense that Javonte was ever in danger of being cut. Zero. That's what was reported. Here's what happened to my understanding. Depends on the beat writer, as always with everything got to consider your sources but main Denver beat writers I follow were not suggesting Javonte would be cut. Now almost all of them considered it between Perine and Javonte, but they all believed that guy to not be on the team any longer was Perine, one way or another.First there was crazy talk about Javonte Williams being on the bubble, now he’s back to RB1 talk after shedding weight and coach praise.
