RB Jerome Ford, CLE (1 Viewer)

Deshaun is out today according Schefter. This means the Cleveland running backs will likely get a lot more usage than they would if Deshaun was playing. Unfortunately, I think it also means they'll be a lot more eight and nine man fronts that they have to deal with. I honestly don't know if this is a benefit or a negative for Ford. Anyone know how DTR does in the dump off passing game?
Stacked boxes equals easier to break the big one for Ford so not all is bad.
100% gut call by me but I think the Cle o-line rises to the occasion and makes this game competitive.

Tbh I liked what I saw from DTR in preseason. I agree with you on the oline/running game stepping up as well though

Whelp...

FBG has him projecting to have an avg to decent day vs 49ers. Anyone else starting him if you have similar options? I could see him getting bottled up all game.

It really all depends on your options, really. For me, in a 14 team standard league, he's a no-brainer start over Quentin Johnston and Elijah Moore. Could both of them outscore Ford? Sure, but they could also give you a big fat zero, so I gotta go with the percentages. I see the above poster is starting Demercado. I can see that, and I could have picked him up on waivers, but I just lost Jefferson, so I took a WR instead.

Debating between Ford and Moss in my flex, 0.5 ppr.....uggghhhhhh

After watching what SF did to Pollard last week, I'm pivoting to Emari Demercado.
Mccarthy is not a good offensive minded coach. In fact, he's a overrated coach in general in my opinion. I wasn't exactly enarmered with Kellen Moore, but Moore is heads and tails better that Mccarthy. So I would keep that in mind about starting Ford over the Italian. Lol

Agree on McCarthy. might pivot from the Italian to D'Onta Foreman. Would like to see Ford have a good game since I roster him, but a Watson-less Browns team against SF is asking for trouble imho.

I'd have Ford in the fantasy RB3 discussion with San Francisco up ahead, but don't panic if he doesn't perform well this week. The schedule gets considerably lighter afterward (Colts, Seahawks, Cardinals). Those weeks should put him back up to fantasy RB2 territory.

The Athletic’s Zac Jackson said Jerome Ford (ankle) was seen “in a protective boot” after the Browns’ Week 7 win over the Colts.

Ford totaled 94 yards and one touchdown in the Browns’ win over the Colts, but was sidelined early in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury and never returned to the game. The Browns have a Week 8 matchup against the Seahawks on tap and could be down to Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong as their top two backs. Ford’s status will be one to monitor throughout the week, but he’ll likely be on the injury report in some capacity come Wednesday.

Browns’ RB Jerome Ford - who left Sunday’s win over the Colts with an ankle injury - was diagnosed with what a source described as a “low grade, high ankle” sprain that is expected to sideline him 1-to-2 weeks.

Missing 1 or 2 games isn’t as bad as it could’ve been. Should be ready to return after the bye if not sooner.
That's what they said about K. Williams and he was never in a boot. Now on IR.

they have already had their bye.
You're right, I was on the Yahoo app and was looking at the wrong player's game log, my bad. Corrected.

Things can certainly change but I'll worry about the IR once he goes on it and not a moment sooner.

I'm talking about immediately following the game. This was the report after the game Williams got hurt.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, starter Kyren Williams is dealing with an ankle injury and is set to have an MRI. Williams did not leave the stadium with a walking boot.

Where did you see he was in a boot and on a scooter after the game?

Williams left the stadium in a boot but is getting an MRI, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Always ignore Rapoport.

All the articles I've seen show he did NOT leave in a boot.

Does it really matter. Ankle injuries can be way worse the next day hence the boot and on a scooter at practice.

Boot scooter boogie!

Jerome Ford (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Ford is expected to miss a week or two while dealing with a “low grade, high ankle” sprain. A missed practice to open the week all but guarantees that he will sit out for Week 8. Kareem Hunt will start in his place, though the veteran back is dealing with a thigh injury and did not practice either. Pierre Strong is a solid stash for fantasy managers who can afford the roster spot.

“Jerome Ford was an unexpected practice participant Friday…Ford said he felt ‘pretty good’ in practice and wasn’t sure if he’d be cleared to play in Seattle.”

Ford: “We’re actually working toward making sure I feel good and that kind of stuff right now. So we’ll see.”

He said he’s always optimistic and started to think during the week “I might be able to play this one.”

He`s worried about Hunt taking his starting job
You’re probably right
Won't happen
I didn’t know Ford was so special
Its not that Ford is so special...its that Hunt is on the 17th hole and now showing up on injury reports more and more. Guy was allowed to walk. Those who argue it was just about the money are fooling themselves.
It absolutely was about the $$$. They had Nick Chubb! They acquired Hunt at a severe discount because of his off field baggage carried over from KC. Hunt is not gonna break a 70 yarder like Ford, but he's better in pass protection, pass catching and the preferred red zone RB. I don't why people discount his value.

Maybe because he is older and could very well regress to the less than stellar human he previously was found guilty of being.
