RB Joshua Kelley, LAC (7 Viewers)

If Kelley is involved in the passing game as much as Eckeler then he'll be golden. That's the big question. I think he will be. I can see a good day even if the Chargers struggle running the ball. 10-15 carries for 40 yds, 5-6 receptions for 60 yards gives you a base of 15-16 pts in a PPR league. If he manages a TD (or 2!) then you're looking at a REALLY good day.
I don't think he'll see anything close to what Ekeler does in the passing game. They scheme Ekeler a lot of passing game touches because he's the best RB in the NFL at it (him or CMC) those probably get funneled more to Keenan Allen, or more downfield plays now.

I'd put the over/under on targets at 3.5 for Kelley. I've got Kelley as RB15 or so this week, maybe slightly lower in full PPR.

Part of me wonders if the Chargers will just throw it 40+ times this week, given the matchup, and the lack of trust in anyone behind Kelley. Kinda think Mike Williams is an underrated play.

Saw somewhere last week that the Titans D was #1 in the league last year against inside-the-tackles runs. And it appears they may have picked up where they left off going by week one.
This is what I have been saying in this thread but no one wants to hear it all they want to do is start Kelley and assume he is going to crush it because he finally did something for the first time in his career last week. People actually going to start Kelley at flex when Ekeler is back ? I am not seeing that. I am desperate at RB in 1 league and will be starting him but I sure am not expecting a big game. I am just hoping he falls into the end zone because I sure don't see a big yardage day on the ground vs Tennessee.

Titans missing a couple lineman. Kelley could have a bunch of opportunity if the game gets out of hand.

I currently have Pierce in Vs Indy but have switched 3-4x already.

Well I'm no coach, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Run outside, get the ball to your back on passes out in the flat, use that as part of your running game.
I watched 2 college games today where two different teams did just that and the color commentators said that's part of their run game because the teams they were playing were tough to run inside on.
Holiday Inn Express
It was late, they all look alike

I understand some folks MUST START him
That doesn't mean everyone should start him

Just because he is likely to see the lion's share this week doesn't make me optimistic he has a big day
Gut says a TD somewhere will salvage his week, if you use that as a floor then maybe he is a must start for many.
I think the game will come down to Herbert and his ability to make the explosive plays or chunk plays.

Yeah it's a pity his (potentially only) start is against such a rough run DEF. I am juggling him and Jamaal Williams personally. Think Kelley is the better player but Williams has such a soft matchup. Tough one.

I don't know if the Panthers are that soft, Falcons are hell bent on running the football and limiting Ridder
Either way, decent options there.
Good Luck

Not expecting much but probably starting him and hoping that volume wins out. Herbert should torch them (I’m going against Herbert and Mike Williams of course) so at some point TN will have to focus on that. This will be a great test for the Chargers running game. They have been imposing their will on the ground all preseason and in week 1. Interested to see if they can do better than most vs TN run D

I'm between Kelly and Dillon in a guillotine league--15 teams. Drafted both as a "what if" injury fill in, and it's honestly a pleasant issue to have this early in the season.

Just remember Tennessee has one of the best run defenses out there and shut Jamaal Williams down forcing NO to pass. This is not a great spot for Kelley's 1st start. How many times does a guy blow up get plucked off waiver wire and started only to disappoint. I am thinking this might be the case. I have to start him in 1 league I am torn up at RB where I got him off waivers but am praying for a short yardage TD to save the day as I do not expect a lot of yardage.
Who cares if they shut jamaal Williams down? He's nothing special
Do you care now ? I tried to tell you Tennessee run defense is no joke.

Starting him over Mooney. It's been raining all day in the Chicagoland area and not sure how that variable is going to impact an already suspect offense.
Games in Tampa
Good grief, and I haven't even started drinking yet.
I have begun drinking - heavily.
What a choice that turned out to be - I guess I "won" since Mooney threw up a goose-egg due to injury.

Kelley doesn't even get a courtesy check down catch? Are his hands that bad?

Because fantasy football he will have a good game next week. I will start him again because of my sink cost fallacy lol. Spent way too much for him and Kuren went for so much less. As an akers owner this is painful

Good news is Kelley gets Minnesota this week. They just let up 259 rushing yards to the Eagles. So he might have an easier time rushing this week than against the Titans.

I benched Mostert in a couple leagues for Kelley in the Flex
I'm a little salty and jaded about him right now

Doubt he is staying on my roster long, didn't like him coming into this season but he was sitting around on the waiver wire like a poisonous mushroom

Yep. Same. If I started Mostert, I'd have won already.

I gotta sweat the Browns Defense tonight, just need a couple sacks, turnovers, not let Pittsburgh light it up for 30+
But yeah the game would be over already

Eagles have the best OL in football....
Whats does the Eagles OL have to do with how Kelley rushes?

Can't tell if serious....

Joshua Kelley isn't running behind an offensive line like the Eagles. Ergo (Latin) he might not find the sledding as easy as Swift did.
