RB Kendre Miller, NO (1 Viewer)

Long-time believer. Gave him up before the start of the season because I asked AI if I should trade him for the 3rd that I was offered or just cut D. Pierce outright before taking a look at week 1 usage. Ultimately, it was a vote against the Saints offense (now and '26) rather than feeling any differently about Miller's talent, but the injury history certainly factored in.

I was feeling pretty sick about this decision with everything pointing up for Miller, including Kamara finally showing his age. What sucks for dynasty, depending on your league size, is that it still probably makes a lot of sense to keep him around to see what happens next season. He was definitely looking like the next man up and doing enough that he would have a chance to be a fantasy asset even within a lackluster offense. This guy has an amazing knack for teasing you just enough to keep him around even after suffering an injury. Even with the ACL, I think he might have shown enough that I would want to continue to hold if he was still on my 24x12. If he does get thrown back, I'm sure I'll take make a healthy FAAB bid. Realistically, I'd say Devin Neal is probably an okay pivot at this point, who is available in my league.

I'd say league size is a big factor. While Kendre was definitely starting to show promise, the calculus has certainly changed. With Kendre facing a long recovery and the uncertainty about how he'll look upon his return, coupled with Kamara running on fumes, you'd have to think the Saints will be making a pretty sizable commitment to a new RB next year - whether it be a FA or another draft pick. And that's assuming that Neal doesn't show promise with the presumed opportunity ahead of him.

I drafted Kendre on 5 dynasty teams and have held in all 5.

3 of those league are small roster FFPC leagues, the other two are not a lot better with 2-4 extra spots.

I can honestly say I never even considered cutting him on one of those teams despite all his issues the first few years. As Sushinky said he has had an amazing knack for doing enough, combined with his age, to give you hope.

As good as he's finally looked this might have broke me. May not even hang on for end of the season because 3 of those leagues my IR spots are already full and none of the players are returning this year and the other two he'll be moving into my last available IR spot.

Perhaps unlike any other skill position, because it's often plug and play, RBs coming off ACLs typically don't have the luxury of teams waiting on them unless they are highly proven or have significant draft capital - and even that's no guarantee. Maybe he'll get another chance somewhere down the line, but the RB landscape is unforgiving and the window doesn't stay open long (also see Brooks, Jonathan).

Realistically, I think this is going to be the straw that breaks the back of a lot of long-time Miller holders. For the leagues you described, it sounds completely justified. It still says something that part of me was excited about the possibility of a window to clean up a mistake before the ACL news, and I might still view it as an even better opportunity now.

But it's fair to say that the scenario where K. Miller is the presumed #1 or eventual #1 in the Saints backfield in '26 once recovered has left town. As much as I'd be tempted to offer a late pick or make a strong FAAB bid if he gets thrown back, I'm not sure he has any real marginal value in a league where Jarquez Hunter, Tahj Brooks, D. Neal, J. James, and E. Wilson are available on the wire. Kendre might be more of a try to scoop at the end of season or early offseason move than a go get him in week 8 and hold until he's healthy.

Nah, I’ll hold. We have 10 IR spots in my dynasty league, and he looked pretty solid prior to the injury. He’s still very young.

Redraft I’m not sure why anyone rostered him outside of Mamara handcuffers and desperation “next man up” speculative holds.

Just read this over at NFL. com. I don't have a good reaction to it. I wish him the best. I guess I hold? I don't think we can use IR after our year is over. We have to protect or not protect, I think. I think I need the roster spot a bit more. Depends on the recovery timeline.

I'm disappointed, but I'm not surprised. Not because he was hurt before, but because they had him returning kicks and that has been a disaster for a bunch of guys this year and in years prior.

time to stick a fork in him. he wasnt impressing before, always in the doghouse and now a knee injury at a position with a high rate of turnover. i dont see him ever panning out.

*sigh*

At least we know he wasn’t obdurately lazy. He clearly was an NFL-quality running back for a time.

He was leading the league in missed forced tackles and doing well in YAC. Who knows what he will be like? I re-thought and unless I’m crunched, I can’t see that there will wind up being twelve more valuable guys.

Fudge, well at least I hung onto Neal in a few leagues even when he was getting zero touches
was about to trade Neal and Kamara for a slight upgrade at RB, pulled that back and trade Br Smith for a couple picks next year instead(it was offered to us).
Also enabled me to move Kittle from IR and not cut anyone. Small rosters, not much wiggle room for a dynasty league.
