RB Kenneth Walker III - SEA (1 Viewer)

Michigan State transfer running back Kenneth Walker has been one of the best running backs in the nation, and continued his tear on Saturday against Miami when he rushed for 172 yards on 27 carries in 38-17 win over Miami.

Running back Walker (5'10/210) entered today’s game against Miami averaging 10.7 yards per carry. While he didn’t improve on that average, Walker still came away from this one with 172 yards on the ground. Walker’s only touchdown on the day came on a six-yard pass from quarterback Payton Thorne late in the second quarter to put the Michigan State up 10-7. Perhaps the most impressive part about Walker's game wasn't just his raw yardage totals, but how he acquired them. Walker was making defenders miss all day, as Miami struggled to bring him down upon first contact nearly every time.

ESPN's Mel Kiper says that Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker is "moving up" draft rankings.

Walker is averaging 8.6 yards per carry with a nation-leading 493 rushing yards. "He looked phenomenal against Northwestern and Miami," Kiper wrote. "At 5-foot-10, 210 pounds, he gets tough yardage inside -- he's slippery. He breaks tackles." Walker wasn't found on many preseason top-10 running back lists -- expect to see him when analysts update their rankings.

Michigan State transfer running back Kenneth Walker rushed 19 time for 61 yards and no touchdowns in Saturday's 23-20 win over Nebraska.

Walker (5'10/210) has been gaining a lot of NFL Draft and Heisman hype after his strong performance through the first three weeks of the season. But he looked like just another guy in Saturday's win over Nebraska, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry and did not record a catch on the day. Walker had a chance to end the game in over time after he took the ball down to Nebraska's two-yard line on 23-yard run, but he was stuffed on back-to-back plays. Walker should have a chance to resume his Heisman run in Week 5 when Michigan State (4-0) hosts Western Kentucky (1-2).

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker carried the ball 24 times for 126 yards with three scores in a 48-31 rout on Saturday of Western Kentucky.

All three of Walker's touchdowns came in the first half. He scooted in from five yards out in the first quarter, added another five-yarder in the middle of the second and closed out the first-half scoring with a three-yard blast. The former Wake Forest tailback has been outstanding to begin his time with the Spartans, and already has eight rushing scores and 680 yards on the ground. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound tailback should be able to keep up the good work against Rutgers next week.

Michigan State Junior RB Kenneth Walker was added to the Maxwell Award watch list for awarded to the most outstanding player in college football.

It was only a matter of time that Walker (5'10/210) was added to the watch list. Walker not only leads the nation in rushing yards with 680, but he is averaging 6.8 yards per carry and nine total touchdowns. Walker feels like a really good dark horse pick for this and the Heisman Trophy, which he has +5000 odds to win via FanDuel Sportsbook. The Spartans travel to face Rutgers on Saturday.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker carried 29 times for 232 yards and a touchdown in a 31-13 win over Rutgers.

Walker (5'10/210) continues to showcase his next level rushing abilities that have him shooting up NFL Draft boards since his arrival in East Lansing. His latest highlight-reel worthy play was a 94-yard touchdown run that is officially the longest play from scrimmage in the long, illustrious Michigan State history. On the play, he took a handoff up the middle that he bounced down the left sideline once he hit the second level before putting a Rutgers defender on skates with a beautiful juke that allowed Walker to run down the field unabated, to the point that he actually high-fived teammate Jalen Nailor at the 20-yard line because nobody was even close to him. It was the fourth 100-yard rushing game of the year for the talented tailback.

I put a little bet on him at +3000 odds this weekend after his last game. He's down to +1400 now. Creeping towards frontrunner territory.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker rushed for 83 yards on 23 carries in Saturday’s 20-15 victory over Indiana.

The Hoosiers’ run defense came into this game in a serious funk, ranked SP+ No. 107 in run success rate and No. 102 in run efficiency. Indiana’s staff had a clearly-delineated plan today: Don’t let Walker beat us. Indiana’s linebackers were ludicrously aggressive, firing forward into gaps even on play-action fakes. QB Payton Thorne didn’t have a good day, but he did take advantage of the extra downfield space a few times. Indiana won the battle: Walker didn't see much daylight and was held under 125 rushing yards for only the third time this year. Michigan State won the war, improving to 7-0. Following a bye, Sparty has a titanic matchup against a team they know well, the Michigan Wolverines.

STUD, another great performance today against a great defense in spite of their head coach being an over rated, choking,  joke of a coach.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker rushed 23 times for 197 yards and five touchdowns in a 37-33 victory over Michigan on Saturday.

Walker (5'10/210) was absolutely unstoppable in the contest, as he accounted for every single one of Michigan State's five touchdowns on the day. His touchdowns were from 27, 8, one, 58 and 23 yards out with the last one putting giving MSU their first and final lead of the game. His first touchdown run came when he was walled off on the interior and bounced the run outside for the 27-yard score. It's hard to understate just how awesome Walker has been thus far, with this being his fifth 100-yard game of the season to go with 15 touchdowns. He is squarely in the Heisman race and will get to show off his skills again next week at Purdue.

Anyone who can score five TD’s vs Michigan is a friend of mine.

White was only recruited by Kent and Arkansas St, then Wake Forest came in late.  They were the only power 5 team to offer him a scholarship.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker rushed 22 times for 136 yards and a touchdown in a 40-29 loss to Purdue on Saturday.

Walker (5'10/210) continues to be one of the very best running backs in the nation, as the Wake Forest transfer recorded his sixth 100-yard game of the season. While he was in full workhorse-mode, carrying 23 times or more for the fifth-straight game, the MSU defense simply could not stop the Purdue passing attack. His best play came on a four-and-two carry that he bounced to the outside, beating the pursuing linebacker to the edge and scampering 14-yards for a touchdown. The Heisman hopeful will try to clear the century mark for the seventh time this season next Saturday against a soft Maryland defense.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker move to the second-best odds to win the Heisman Trophy according to PointsBet.

It was another outstanding performance for Walker (5'10/210) who had 146 rushing yards and a touchdown in the 40-29 loss to Purdue on Saturday. The transfer from Wake Forest came out of nowhere this season to take over the College Football landscape. He's continually climbed in the Heisman, this week moving from the fourth-best odds to jumping over C.J. Stroud and Matt Corral for second place. At +300, he's now just behind Bryce Young (+185). He'll continue his incredible campaign this Saturday when Michigan State host Maryland.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker has been giving opposing tacklers the blues, possibly en route to receiving the Heisman Trophy for this season.

Walker (5'10/210) has been the heart and soul of the Michigan State rushing attack and is very much in contention for both the Heisman Trophy and to be chosen in the first or second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Walker has been incredibly hard for his opponents to bring down, ranking first in missed tackles forced (77) and yards after contact (981) this season. So far this year, he totals 198 carries for 1,340 yards with 15 touchdowns.

Nov 11, 2021, 4:22 PM ET

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker carried the ball 30 times for 143 yards with two touchdowns in a 40-21 rout of Maryland on Saturday.

You know you've had a good season when 143 yards and two touchdowns seems a bit disappointing. Walker (5'10/210) also caught two passes for 29 yards, and he found paydirt with a pair of touchdown runs from inside the five yard line. This won't do much to help Walker's Heisman chances, but if he can put up big numbers next week against Ohio State, that would obviously change things considerably. It also could help Michigan State reach a Big Ten Championship Game.

Nov 13, 2021, 7:45 PM ET

The Heisman should be his if he has a big game/MSU doesn't get blown out against OSU. Still has Penn State to reckon with as well. He will either go out with a bang and win the Heisman going away, or get get stuffed in these next two games and finish behind the QB of the moment.

Going to be watching closely as this will be the closest thing to an NFL talent he will face. Still unsure if he's a second round pick type or 5th.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker now has the second-best odds to win the Heisman trophy according to PointsBet.

Walker (5'10/210) continues to put his stamp on the season and his name in the forefront. He had another monster performance with 30 carries for 143 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-21 win over Maryland on Saturday. That was enough to move his odds from +300 to +225 and jump over CJ Stroud for the second-best odds. Sometimes a fresh start is what's best, as his 1,473 rushing yards this year are more than his previous two years at Wake Forest combined. He has a marquee matchup next week as Michigan State will travel to take on Ohio State. Both Walker and Stroud will play in this game and the better performer could certainly pull away in this Heisman race.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker (undisclosed) was banged up during Saturday's 56-7 loss to Ohio State, per HC Mel Tucker.

Walker (5'10/210) entered Saturday's game as one of the betting favorites to win the Heisman Trophy, but his campaign may have gone off the rails in Columbus. The junior running back carried the ball just six times on the day, accounting for 25 yards, while also catching one pass for another four yards. When asked about his star back after the game, Tucker said that Walker was "banged up." Walker and the Spartans will look to bounce back next weekend, when they host Penn State.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker has significantly moved down in the odds to win the Heisman Trophy according to PointsBet.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Walker (5'10/210) has come on strong over the last few weeks with incredible performances, and the virtually unknown transfer from Wake Forest was becoming a superstar. This past Saturday against Ohio State was not only crucial in the race for the Big Ten title, but also for Walker himself as he was on the same field as fellow Heisman favorite Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud. It was Stroud with the fantastic performance of 493 passing and six touchdowns. Walker would have his worse game of the year with 25 rushing yards. This loss for MSU completely takes them out of the Big Ten title contention, and for Walker, he's all been out of the race for the Heisman. Following the game, his odds went from +225 to +2500. Walker will prepare for the regular season finale against Penn State.

Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker wins the Doak Walker Award for best running back.

Walker (5'10/210) was amazing this season as the unknown transfer from Wake Forest became a star this season. The Spartans running back finished second in rushing yards with 1,636 to go with 18 touchdowns. For a period of time, he looked like he was even in contention for the Heisman Trophy as at one PointsBet had him with the second-best odds to win the award. With his stock so high, he may decide the NFL is an obvious choice but he hasn't made that decision yet.

Crime he isn't a Heisman finalist going to NY.

He also won the Walter Camp Player of the Year yesterday...but no Heisman invite. Laughable and sad and the same time.

Just read BLs post too.  Never heard of the CMU RB but leading rusher in nation should get some votes.

Kenny Walker was good for sure but maybe that he came up small in MSUs 2 blowout losses at the end of the season hurt him.  Also think there is a little bias against the transfer players who jump ship for one season at a different school.

Former Michigan State junior RB Kenneth Walker declares the NFL draft, will not play in the Peach Bowl.

This should be no surprise as Walker's (5'10"/210) stock could not get much higher. The transfer from Wake Forest burst onto the scene with the Spartans, and in his only season at MSU was second in the country with 1,636 rushing yards to go along with 18 rushing touchdowns. At one point, after a string of impressive performances, which included rushing for 197 yards and five touchdowns against Michigan, his name was thrown into Heisman conversation. With the season he had, we might be hearing his name on Day 1 in April.

Former Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker has been invited to the NFL Combine.

Whether or not Walker (5'10/210) was ever going to receive an invite to the NFL Combine was never in question, as Walker is viewed as one of the top running backs in this year's class, with some scouts and analysts ranking him as the RB1 of the class. Walker transferred from Wake Forest to Michigan State ahead of the 2021 season, and went on to finish second in the nation with 1,636 rushing yards while also rushing for 18 scores. As if his stock couldn't get any higher, Walker will get a chance to further solidify himself as one of the draft's best backs with a solid performance at the combine.

Impressive often.

I'm curious to see the annual RB discounting that NFL GMs do. He's a top player

Mel Tucker should give Kenny a nice check from his raise.  Without Walker MSU was probably a 5 loss team and no raise for Tucker.

Walker will go in the first rd to some team.

Luke Easterling has the Denver Broncos drafting Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker.

Many Broncos fans were excited to see the second-round pick Javonte Williams start to get a more prominent role as the season continued and he was impressive with 903 rushing yards and averaged 4.4 yards per carry. With Melvin Gordon hitting free agency, it looked like Williams would get the lead back duties, but one draft expert’s doesn’t think that’s the case. According to Draftwire’s Luke Easterling he has Denver picking MSU’s RB Kenneth Walker (5'10"/210) in the third round at No. 96. The transfer from Wake Forest was stellar in his lone season with the Spartans rushing for 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns and came away with Doak Walker award for best running back. If it plays the way Easterling has it, we could looking at another two-headed monster in the Broncos backfield

I like Walker, think he will be great at the next level.
I have some concerns. 1 year breakout, small body of work. The numbers are eye popping, but I’ve read some analysts who question how legit he is & whether it’ll translate to the NFL.

Landing spot is of course highly relevant.

Still - hard to watch his highlight reel and not come away impressed.

Kinda hoping he goes before 1.08 (superflex) so I don’t have to make that decision. Certainly possible he’s the real deal, I’m just saying what I’ve been reading.

Kenneth Walker III, Running Back

- Bell-Cow
- Excels in multiple ways as a running back, elusiveness, speed, and power
- Led the FBS in forced missed tackles, yards after contact, and carries over 15 yards

He reminds me of DeAngelo Williams and JK Dobbins

Philly Nation @Philly_Nation

Walker isn't a one-year wonder, he's a guy that showed he can be a bell-cow back and dominate.

He doesn't need wide gaps to run through, he can take a small crease and explode through it. He has also shown the ability to make people miss in short areas which is vital.

Philly Nation @Philly_Nation

Areas that leave scouts more desire is his pass game impact, both as a blocker and receiver.

He has only caught 18 passes in his college career and his pass blocking is beyond sub-par. At the next level that won't fly.

Philly Nation @Philly_Nation

He will likely not be an every-down back in the NFL, at least to start out, but he has shown nice hands in his opportunities. He has record 0 drops in college.
