I hope Hampton misses more time.
Sean Tucker had 2 carries this week with Bucky coming back. You never know.welcome to the new time share - coming soon Vidal has earned it.
It was fun while it lasted.
Fool's gold perhapsHe's been a revelation. Will remain a part of the offense going forward and we know he's gold whenever he needs to be the main guy.
You might be right but I don't think so. Vidal's a genuinely good RB right now and I doubt he'll go away.Fool's gold perhapsHe's been a revelation. Will remain a part of the offense going forward and we know he's gold whenever he needs to be the main guy.

Right. You don't draft a 1st round RB if there's a guy already on the roster who can carry the load. Vidal will most likely move back into a backup role getting less than 10% of the weekly touches. It's on this staff to PROVE that Hampton is the guy.You might be right but I don't think so. Vidal's a genuinely good RB right now and I doubt he'll go away.Fool's gold perhapsHe's been a revelation. It's possible. I like him and don't think he's terrible or anything. Just considering his career so far it seems like it would be a massive outlier for him to be like an Eckler 2.0. A couple years as an RB2ish guy seems like his ceiling. He should be rostered for sure. Saying whatever happens he's "golden" is foolish to me, hence the reply.
Agreed. All I can say to Vidal (who I roster across 5 leagues where I’ve been starting him) is:Vidal has filled in admirably, but he’s the backup now. Vidal owners without Hampton don’t want to believe it.

thank you for your service.
Sort of an odd take, given that they started the season intending to split carries between Hampton and Najee. I’d fully anticipate Vidal getting 30% of touches even if/when Hampton is fully healthy.Right. You don't draft a 1st round RB if there's a guy already on the roster who can carry the load. They planned on splitting carries between a rookie and a season vet. No surprise there. Once the vet went down in game 3, Hampton was essentially the bell cow. Vidal didn't get touches until Hampton was injured. If Hampton is back, I would expect him to once again fall into the bell cow roll. At the time Harris went down, Vidal had not done anything of note. He has now, he's shown he can carry the load. And a Harbaugh team will look to run, esp with a banged up Herbert. I would expect a fit Hampton to be the lead but Vidal will get carries. I do not think a 60/40 to 70/30 split range is out of the question now. They planned on splitting carries between a rookie and a season vet. No surprise there. He said it "warms the cockles of the heart" to see Vidal embrace contact and take on defenders.
You don't want to rush Hampton back do ya Harbs? You already have an RB1 afterall!Alex Insdorf
