RB Lamont Jordan - Questionable (1 Viewer)

LaMont Jordan (questionable, back) practiced fully Wednesday.

ESPN's John Clayton reported late Wednesday that Jordan "should be back as the starting halfback" in Week 9. Since he's back practicing without restrictions, Jordan looks like a solid flex play on Monday night. Nov. 2 - 11:41 am et

Looks like he is good to go but I dont want to get burned by this bum again. It's on Monday night so if you have better options you should look elsewhere.

I'm thinking of starting Brandon Jacobs against lowly Houston..

Almost thinking about starting him over Jamal Lewis this weekend, but im sure he'll have 2 rushes for-1 yds and sit out the rest of the game

Per Rotoworld:

Justin Fargas-RB- Raiders Nov. 2 - 11:25 am et

Justin Fargas (probable, shoulder) missed practice Wednesday.

Raiders coach Art Shell said that Fargas experienced "a little soreness" and that he doesn't "want to rush him." If Fargas is downgraded later this week, LaMont Jordan can be close to a RB2 in Week 9.

Fargas misses practice and is listed as probable, while Jordan practices and is listed as questionable?

Just as I had resolved to dump him for Michael Turner (LT2 Handcuff). What to do what to do. Jordan's Playoff schedule rocks.

Don't let the schedule fool you - regardless of the opponent, the Raiders offense is still in line for a bad, bad year.

Per Rotoworld:

LaMont Jordan-RB- Raiders Nov. 3 - 10:58 am et

The Raiders' local newspapers make no mention of whether LaMont Jordan (questionable, back) practiced Thursday.

Jordan practiced fully Wednesday, so it's possible the team beat writers treat his playing Monday night as a foregone conclusion. We'll have the official results of Jordan's Thursday participation by Friday afternoon.

Justin Fargas-RB- Raiders Nov. 3 - 10:54 am et

Justin Fargas (probable, shoulder) missed practice again Thursday.

Fargas may be downgraded if he's held out of Friday's workout session. Raiders head coach Art Shell says Fargas is also battling a lingering hip injury. LaMont Jordan looks like a safe flex in Week 9.

I have the same dilemma. Was sold on Jam with Billick calling the shots, but LaMont on MNF is intriguing. Non PPR league - not that LaMont is catching many balls.

Anyone have projection thoughts for Jordan going forward? We don't get Raiders on TV much here in MN.

Remaining schedule and rushing DST stats:

@SEA: 744 yds, 7 TDs LITTLE EASIER THAN AVERAGE

DEN: 634 yds, 0 TDs VERY HARD

@KC: 789 yds, 5 TDs AVERAGE

@SD: 593 yds, 4 TDs HARD

HOU: 942 yds, 8 TDs EASY

@CIN: 905 yds, 7TDs EASY

STL: 944 yds, 9 TDs EASY

KC: 789 yds, 5 TDs AVERAGE

Average for the league is ~800 yds and 5.5 TDs.

Jordan was just dropped in an 8 team league and I'm considering picking him up to ride the bench until week 13.

When he faced an easy D (Cleveland) he did well, when he faced difficult defenses (San Diego, Baltimore, Denver) he did poorly. Seems like a good buy low to me.

I could be biased because I traded for him in week 3 - BUT, I do think if Aaron Brooks can work himself back into the starting lineup, the Raiders have a chance at putting up some decent fantasy numbers. The o-line is playing much better, and if Brooks can get the ball downfield to Moss and Porter, than Jordan has the potential to put up respectable numbers. I don't think any Raider is a good ff start with Walter at qb, however.

And what about the SF game? ~80 total yards against one of the top 3 worst run defenses in the league? I'm not convinced that I should drop the Panthers (my backup DST to the Steelers) for him!

Good question...He averaged 5.9 yards per carry but the team only ran 12 times (obviously bailed on the run). For the record it was his 2nd best YPC this year second only to the Cleveland game.

As the starter RB and maybe no Fargas or Crockett to steal carries, Jordan looks like a good play this week.

Per Rotoworld:

LaMont Jordan-RB- Raiders Nov. 3 - 9:14 pm et

The AP reports LaMont Jordan, questionable with a back injury, practiced fully for the third straight day Friday and "appears ready to start."

Potential carry-stealers Justin Fargas and Zack Crockett both missed Friday's workout session and will be game-time decisions on Monday night. Jordan should see a big workload against Seattle in Week 9.

Justin Fargas-RB- Raiders Nov. 3 - 9:05 pm et

Justin Fargas (probable, shoulder) missed practice again Friday.

Fargas was not downgraded, but Raiders head coach Art Shell told the Associated Press that his backup runner will be a game-time decision. Things are looking better for LaMont Jordan, who practiced fully all week.

I think the no Fargas and Crockett is key, as Fargas has played well enough the last couple weeks to probably split carries. With the Monday night game, the Raiders will probably have practice today and it will be interesting to see if either Fargas or Crockett participate.

Here we go again...

Lamont has burned me twice and I said I would never let it happen again. I currently have Mike Bell and Droughns but am leaning towards taking out Bell and inserting Jordan.

Same here. I hear Lamont on his weekly segment with local sports 1140 out of Sacramento. He basically stated that he would not talk about the specific injury, that he's had it before and the trainers are doing a grreat job with his situation. He then stated that he feels better then he has in a month. With Fargas and Crocket hurting, especially Fargas, I am trying one more time with Jordan in a couple leagues at Flex. :bag: :banned:

NO-NO-NO you guys. Don't do it. Mike Bell will have a good game and don't put your faith in Jordan and the Raiders offensively. Bell will be better against a strong Pitt D than Jordan will with the offensive team a scheme they employ.

I was extremely high on Jordan as I have had him on my dynasty team since he came into the league. I traded him 2 weeks ago. He let me down by not playing and on top of that I got tired of watching his fat ### running like Twinkle Toes Tina.

Starting RB LaMont Jordan (back-questionable) practiced without any problems all week, and will likely start barring a setback.

RB Justin Fargas (shoulder-probable) practiced Friday and is expected to play.

Where did you get your Fargas news? Reading the Sacramento Bee right now and Art Shell stated Saturday that Fargas and Crocket will be GTD's on Monday. Jordan is starting.

Bumping this....I'm sure that Jordan will at least play, but I'm mostly interested in the game time decisions of Fargas and Crockett. If Fargas is playing I would expect them Jordan and Fargas to split time. Anyone here anything yet?

ESPN's Colleen Dominguez reports LaMont Jordan will play Monday night.

Jordan was able to practice all week despite being listed as questionable on the injury report. Justin Fargas (shoulder) and Zack Crockett remain game-time decisions against the Seahawks.

Hmmm.

Need 9 pts. Have to decide between Maurice Morris and Lamont Jordan.

I think that Jordan, since he's healthy is the better choice even if Fargas is active.

Morris has been a huge disappointment.

Justin Fargas-RB-Raiders Nov. 6 - 7:34 pm et

Justin Fargas and Zack Crockett are both active for Oakland.

So is Jerry Porter. Fargas and Crockett could steal work from LaMont Jordan, but we expect Jordan to see the vast majority of the carries.

I have the same decision, but I'm wavering. I expect the Seachickens to win this game so MoMo will probably have more carries, but Locklear is out.Jordan makes me nervous from his previous suiting and sitting on the sidelines, also I believe the Seahawks have the better run defense.

I'm leaning towards a healthy Jordan.I'm not sure that I see the relative defenses the same, at least based upon play of late. Raiders kept both Edge (then again who hasn't) and Parker in check. While the Seahawks have been giving up 28 pts a game for what seems like forever. Don't disagree about Seahawks winning the game, but Morris has been so lousy in short yardage situations (he goes down immediately) that I suspect that Seattle will rely more on Strong and/or Wallace near the goal line.
