I'll remind some that people play in different scoring leagues, so if anyone was in actual support of Bell in my TD heavy non PPR league they are, as you say, the idiot since this would be his third time in seven games he scored over 5 points.

Maybe thats why some are bashing Bell, because people dont all play with in your scoring. In PPR Bell is a beast, in one of my leagues he is just a guy because he rarely scores. 2 TDs in 7 games is beyond bad in my TD heavy league.

I dont think people can get ahead of themselves. He can barely score 1 TD let alone worry about two in a game. I am a fan of Bell and have him in PPR and TD heavy leagues. The value/worth of Bell in both leagues are night and day.

I bash Haley non stop, hate the guy as a coach and from how I see him in pressers and on the sidelines and interact with players. I like Bell, drafted him in many different scoring typed leagues, just because someone states a fact with Bell which is "HE DOES NOT SCORE TDS OFTEN" does not mean they dont like him.

It did work. It was still a ridiculously risky and dumb play call on 1st and goal from the 3 yard line. Why so many moving parts, and so many opportunities for disaster when you have 3-4 plays to get 3 yards? Not to mention the fact that you have an elite RB.

If he had called a run up the gut and the RB fumbled, that would not have meant Haley made a stupid call. Just had a poor outcome. In this case, he made a stupid call, and had a positive outcome despite himself.

Unknown.

He is trying to avoid a conviction via plea deal. I don't know the wording/language of the new agreement, or the penalties, so that can't be determined yet. From what I've seen (on the internet, so take that with a grain of salt), he could get 2 games. It seems unlikely that this will happen until after the legal process has run its course, so I'd be surprised if it happened during this season.

You seem to have an expectation that others will tailor their assessment to accomodate your league rules, which per current FF popularity are the exception and not the rule. Then you seem to take offense when others are not interested in engaging in that discussion.

You can make your point once that per your league rules Bell is not a top RB, but when you keep continuing forth with this concept and expect everyone else to agree, people are going to push back.

Seriously, what did you expect? Most leagues utilize the idea that there's a lot more to football than scoring touchdowns and their league scoring reflects that accordingly. That you prefer to play in a league that disagrees, I don't think anyone expects you to disband the league - but they aren't going to think remotely similar to you and their idea of player value is going to be radically different. And because you are pretty well outside the norm, if you want to engage in a general discussion you shouldn't expect the group to use your standards as their basis for evaluation.

FWIW I am in a (what I assume to be?) typical standard non-PPR league with 6 pts per TD and 1 pt per 10 yards and he is currently the 4th highest scoring RB behind only Demarco, Forte, and Arian Foster. Only 2.1 points behind Foster.

Don't have him in any leagues but he has looked really good the few games I've seen him play - might be all of the receiving work but he really reminds me of Forte. I could see how he can be frustrating to own because the Steelers seem to be weird about abandoning the running game at times, even down by the goalline.

It's very hard to argue with Haley today...all the RZ passing is working. Despite the injury scare, it was nice to get a GL carry earlier...and there's still 18 minutes to play. Patience I guess and no major complaints.

First of all I want to say I absolutely love Bell and am a Steelers fan.

Now I feel that his "patience" is a detriment to him accomplishing long runs (and in theory possible TD's). Waiting that long behind the line it lets DB's know that it is a run play and that is all they need to "limit" the run. Because of his patience it gives the other defenders time to make up and cover the big play. I don't know the stats of how many big runs he has though. Most of his gains seem to be of the 4-10 yard variety. They don't use him as often as I'd like in the redzone, but his patience is what's killing his fantasy value. Although he makes up for that in spades in PPR leagues, but not everyone plays those so it's hard to judge. I have no idea if this "theory" of mine has any merit, but it would be interesting to see.

He is also on a pass, pass, pass team with poor run blocking. He is lucky to have anywhere near the rushing yards he has. After today, it seems likely his rushing role will diminish now that their passing game is now actually effective. His time to sell high has passed.
