RB Le'Veon Bell, FA (3 Viewers)

The weight loss helped, but in 2012, his final season at MSU he was the offense and everyone knew it. Cousins just went to the NFL and MSU played three different quarterbacks before settling on Cook, who wasn't that good that year.

As for his first year in NFL, we need to remember he was hurt and missed 5 games. I doubt he was 100 percent all year and the Steelers line was awful.

I graduated from MSU, so I might have a little bias, but I always thought he was going to be good in the NFL. I didn't think he would be in the discussion as the best back in the NFL, but I thought he would be in the second tier.

I am running into a perfect storm - offset only by the fact that Julio might not play - my opp has Rodgers (with dinged running game so even more reason to air it out), Bell (facing an atrocious ATL defense), Cobb (a beneficiary of the dinge dup running game) and Gostkowski (the #1 PK in our league). Here's hoping Bell wakes up with the flu, Rodgers finds some open Bills DBs, and Cobb is shut down for any inexplicable reason. Feel like I am walking to my execution.

What did you have for your last meal?

Reckon it will be a turd sandwich - still waiting to hear back from the warden.

If I lose with him in my lineup today I'm gonna be PO'ed.
Bell's been a stud, but in the playoffs, you'd think that all/most teams have some studs in their lineup. Sometime they blow up, sometimes the fizzle out.

Bell's best game of the season was last week; I thought I had my game won. Up by 29 points going into MNF. Opponent only had 1 guy left......Julio Jones. Sometimes the other guys' studs blow up too.

God bless whatever power that slapped some sense into Haley/Roethlisburger upside the head these past few weeks. Most of last season as well as earlier this season Pitt in the RZ would shy away from the run/Bell and spread it out. Nice to see them running it in the endzone from <3yds out.

Re: Bell injury speculation

An ACL isn't usually a big deal nowadays, but for a player like Bell it could be (if that's what it is). Losing even a little bit of agility at his size could take away what makes him special, because he's more finesse than power. Add that to weight concerns as he can't run and keep it off and I'd be worried about a lost 2015 and a different career path than you'd expect from the guy many have as the #1 dynasty RB right now. Man injuries suck.

Rotoworld refers to it as a hyperextended knee. Not sure how forthright the Steelers are being with the playoffs looming.

Won't know anything til tomorrow when the mri results come out. I mean the Steelers prolly already know but they're not going to report anything until it's definitive.

You start a thread on every freaking prospect. You can't miss them all.As the saying goes. .....even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again. Quit patting yourself on the back.

ACL is 9 months on the shelf unless you're Adrian Peterson. Not sure how that would not be considered a big deal.

I meant for his career and dynasty value.

From Rotoworld:

Coach Mike Tomlin said Le'Veon Bell's right knee injury is "not anything major."
Bell has been diagnosed with a scary hyperextension, but no ligament damage. He was able to walk without crutches in the locker room after the game and was not in a brace. Still, hyperextensions can be multi-week injuries in certain cases, leaving Bell questionable for Saturday night's Wild Card game against the Ravens. The Steelers were forced to turn to UDFA Josh Harris following Bell's injury Sunday night. CBS' Jason La Canfora reported Tuesday morning that the Steelers believe it's "possible" Bell can play Saturday night.

Steelers beat writer Dale Lolley just tweeted that he saw Bell at the facility and he can barely walk.
That sucks for you guys!!! I had the Steelers pegged for a deep playoff run. They looked like a different team without bell (for good reason).
I'm just hoping he can play if the Steelers get by Baltimore (big if.) They have a chance against the Ravens without Bell, but at Denver? They're going to need all hands on deck to outscore that offense.

this thread has some amazing analysis back in the 20-27 range, basically maps out who not to listen to when it comes to fantasy football advice...

I'm assuming that signing Tate is insurance in case they win this week and Bell can't go next week either. Can't imagine Tate getting in the game that much this week without knowing any of the offense and only having 3 more days to learn it.

It's not terribly difficult for a veteran running back to learn in just a few days which hole he's supposed to run through. This tells me Bell is out. Ben should go 5-wide the whole day anyway against this Ravens secondary.

Blocking/picking up blitzes would be my biggest concern. They really can't afford to get their QB hurt.
