I think a lot of us are in the same boat with this debate. I know there have been a ton of threads and I've read them and still haven't decided for my draft this weekend. The expert rankings are stil fairly divided so I'd like to see what the feelings are here.

So are you expecting this thread to somehow bring it all together? Not trying to be a smart---, I just saying that a "consensus" anything isn't going to happen. Valid arguments for/against can be made for all 5 players you listed in your poll. If you'ver really read EVERY thread you can find on the subject you've already developed a gut opinion.

Go with it. Don't let any one single well articulated post make you go against the gut feeling you've developed over the course of dozens of threads. Whatever you lend credit to now is just second guessing.

I'm sure you are correct. I just feel like squeezing every bit of info out before my draft this weekend. I honestly think I'm narrowed down to Alexander or Parker and am leaning towards Parker (but just barely) I feel like Alexander has more upside and more downside than Parker. Parker's knee doesn't look like a concern and either does Alexander's foot. I just keep thinking I'll kick myself later as I have trouble envisioning as much success from inside the 5 for Parker this year and Alexander is A TD machine when healthy (even with this line I think)

I really think everyone is forgetting how great Alexander is/was. Who held the TD record before LT broke it? Oh yeah, Alexander.

From Wiki:

"During the 2005 season he broke the franchise record for the most rushing yards in the Seattle Seahawks' history. On November 13, 2005, scoring 3 touchdowns, Alexander became the first running back in NFL history to record 15 or more touchdowns in five consecutive seasons. On November 20, 2005, in San Francisco, Shaun Alexander became the first player in NFL History to score 19 rushing or receiving TDs in only 10 games (Steve Van Buren had 18 in 1945). A feat that eventually led to him breaking Priest Holmes record of 27 total touchdowns set in 2002, and his 27 rushing touchdowns also tied Holmes for the most in a single season."

Seriously, how can you pass that up? You know he is out to prove to everyone that he still has it.

For the same reason i would not pick Jim Brown ( He WAS the greatest ) while Alexander WAS very good.

Good comparison. Jim Brown played, what, 40 years ago? Alexander set the record in 2005 then broke his foot so now he sucks? It's not his knee...

Just reminds me of Curtis Martin in 2004. SA could be a great pick this year. That said, I'm still not taking him above Parker.

I have the 1.05 in a redraft this weekend, 0.5 pt per reception. Right now, I'm leaning towards taking T Henry. I know it's way before his ADP but I really do feel like he's in the best situation amongst all the 2nd tier RBs. Guys like Parker & Westbrook scare me because of their build and because they may have TDs vultured from them. I do like Addai, but with Indy having lost nearly their entire secondary I feel like they're going to be involved in a lot of shootouts this year and there are going to be games where Addai just doesn't get many carries. I think Alexander is on the downside of his career and just doesn't look like the same RB he was, IMO. Henry seems to be in the perfect offense for his skills on a team that has plenty of other weapons, a good defense to keep games close, and a coach that will probably feed him the ball 20+ times per week.

I'm leaning towards Henry with Parker being a possibility.

I wouldn't shy away from Parker because of his build. The local sports reporters have been talking about how big he looks this year. When asked about it yesterday FWP denied that he was any bigger and said something to the effect of "I'm still the same little RB I've always been" which was met with chuckles. The dude is seriously built and motivated. Now the vulture part may be a concern but frankly I think Parker is the best goal line back on the roster.

Who is the top four? I can figure out three of them.
i think, for these purposes, the thought is Tomlinson-Jackson-Johnson-Gore. --though that is not mine. The #5 , I believe, is going to be skewed a lot according to whether the person voting is considering ppr.

sorry for the confusion. First 4, Tomlinson, Jackson, Johnson, Gore

Top 4 on the expert rankings as well as the first 4 going in my draft. Not saying I necessarily agree but wanted clarify

 I vote Alexander in non-PPR but might prefer Westy in PPR
