Stefanski has been consistently evasive when asked about Quinshon, responding with "we'll take things day by day" to pretty much every question. But today he was asked if the team has had a chance to evaluate Quinshon and if he's in football shape and Stefanski finally gave an actual answer, "we've been able to work with him physically over the last few days. The quote about the expected 2-4 game suspension is a couple of weeks old, from before Judkins signed a contract. The full quote:

Browns insider Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland says he expects Judkins to be suspended for 2-4 games, despite the charges being dropped.

“I do think he’s going to be suspended otherwise this case would have been done by now,” Grossi said on ESPN Cleveland. “But, the NFLPA is trying to negotiate a reduced suspension. I think the contract will fall in line once they now how many games he’s out.”

Probably because he is on the commissioner's exemption list. They gave Cle 2 weeks for him before roster moves needed to be made.

QJ stood in front of the media today and fielded questions. I thought he came off well and was poised and mature in his answers. Clearly he had been coached on what to stay but he stuck to the script and his answers consistently put the team first, put being a good teammate first, and showed an emphasis on working hard and focusing only on what he can control. Nothing earth shattering but it’s amazing how often young players flunk their basic media training and he certainly didn’t. When we’re talking about a player whose character and judgement has been called into question you pay a little more attention to this stuff.

The most interesting answer Quinshon gave to any question occurred when he was asked what he had been doing all summer. He said he’s been studying his playbook and training just like he was in camp. I didn’t get the vibe that he expects to play much this week but if called upon he seems like he’s about as ready as he could be given the circumstances…

I'm surprised the comment drew a response from the admin. Hard to think that offended anyone and agree it was more humor if anything.

But it's not crazy to me if he's available in some leagues and I like Judkins a lot, spent three first round dynasty picks on him, but if you think he's facing a suspension and when he gets out of is looking like more of a RB3 or low end RB2 type for ROS, I can understand the lack of interest.

I play mainly national type contests, I'm only in one local redraft league. 10 team league with only 16 roster spots. It's like no other league of mine and the stuff available to pick up on the waivers every week is insane. The buy-in for the league is $1500 so it's competitive, at least not some league people don't care, and Judkins was cut in this league yesterday.

I'm not sure yet if I'll even try and pick him up next week when I can, just not sure if he's worth it. Already roster 6 RB's out of 16 spots and the least valuable of those is ironically Sampson and without knowing Judkins suspension yet I'm not sure I'll want to cut Sampson for him.

I was able to put him in an IR spot on ESPN. Anybody with an "O" designation, even a healthy game-day scratch, can be placed into an IR spot on ESPN. Used the free space to pick up the Packers DST for next week.

Yahoo doesn't allow suspended players on the IR, but with the Out designation I was able to shift him to IR.

Which in turn allowed me to grab Isaiah Likely for a possible Week 8 bye filler - and moved him to the IR.

And now I can stash another lottery ticket RB.

It gets less exciting after that but nice 'lil micro improvement to the squad.

Judkins is my RB5 so I have the patience of Job about all the drama.
