RB Quinshon Judkins, CLE (3 Viewers)

Really glad I drafted this guy at 1.08 (rookie draft) when others were scared off. Can’t believe there are people who watched this guy play and somehow saw him as a JAG. Dude is so so explosive.
Took him at 1.06…tough start with the allegations but has been smooth sailing since.
Got him at 1.10 BEFORE any of this happened back in May.

One of the best late round redraft picks of the year I got him 13 times in round 10 or later.

same was shocked how I gobbled him up as a last few round flier.

what a great fantasy day... but also odd statistical day. take the 46 yard run out and he went for 38 yards and 2 tds on the other 24 carries.... we'll gladly take that INT return to the 1 yard line for the last td

Sell high in Redraft, the Phins make all RBs look like Pro Bowl starters
Vidal last week had 22

Gabriel had the shortest passing attack ever, Browns won't win like they did on Sunday very often
Just my opinion

I would imagine selling high is easier said than done, because people are gonna be aware it was against Miami. Nobody (I assume) is gonna suddenly think Judkins is Jonathan Taylor.

I think Judkins certainly has some boom/bust due to not being a pass catcher and the Browns offense, but his volume and GL role are pretty bankable. I think its reasonable to expect him to stay in the RB10-15 range.

Judkins averaged 3.4 yards on 25 carries. He gained 46 yards on one TD (showed vision, speed) and 17 on a run to the outside also using speed. On his other 23 carries, he gained 21 yards - less than 1 ypc!

I agree with @Ministry of Pain in that teams will try to stop the run and challenge Gabriel to beat them. That's what Miami did, other teams should be able to do it better. Gabriel appears to have a weaker arm than Tua!

He had a terrible day rushing against the worst rushing defense in the NFL.
We who started him happened to be on the right side of variance (3 TDs).

The Browns need to get back to being consistent with run blocking. They have gone through some injuries with linemen in/out of games the past few weeks.

Teams ARE stacking the box and daring Gabriel to beat them, and the Browns O-Line is decimated with injuries, but Gabe has a 'decent' arm. The arm isn't the issue.
He's a rookie with two games under his belt dealing with a terrible O-Line and lackluster WRs BEFORE factoring in he's 5'10 so he has to adjust the trajectory of his throws HIGH which leads to many high misses.
Then factor in that he's a lefty which means the entire offense has to adjust LEFT and the ball is rotating in the opposite direction of most QBs leading to a higher drop rate. Just as bad of a physical combo for an NFL QB let alone a rookie.
Per Judkins.
He needs a QB who can threaten over the top to force the DBs back.
That isn't happening with Gabriel, the terrible O-Line/protection, and awful WR play.
There isn't any getting around the injury decimated offensive line.
Stefanski came up with a winning formula Sunday.
Next Gen Stats
Browns rookie RB Quinshon Judkins rushed 15 times for 69 yards and 3 TDs from jumbo sets (6+ OL) in a Week 7 win over the Dolphins.
The Browns used an extra lineman on 22 of 52 plays overall (40.9%), the highest rate by any team in a game this season.

It is only a matter of time before teams adjust.

Don't love reading a ton of doom and gloom around here for someone I just acquired hahaha.
Lol, the kid is very talented and the Browns are going to feature him so he's got a decent floor. It's a bad offense though, so while we just saw a glimpse of how high the ceiling can be it's hard to expect that on a consistent basis. I'm still holding though because I don't think his perceived value has risen to the point where I can get more for him than he's worth to me right now.

How are we feeling about Judkins this weekend? Tough matchup vs. the Pats where the Browns are likely down early and he seemingly doesn't play much on 3rd.

I'm sitting him for JK Dobbins.

Same concerns about gamescript/NE run D. Highly doubt he has the same sort of RZ opportunities he had against Miami.

Yeah i'm rolling with him this week, I literally don't have another option on my roster right now. I traded away RB depth to cover the endless WR injuries I've suffered and the only backup I have left after the trades is KWIII and he's on a bye. I've basically hitched my wagon to Judkins as CMC's running mate for the rest of the year.

Watch that Pats defensive injury report. They've got 2 LBs and a DT as questionable right now. If they have to roll out the subs then he seems like a must start.

Who? I can actually maybe help and tell you if they matter.

Spillane is the LB you look out for, but Gibbens is solid and Elliss (I think) is playing better. Then you have Jalani Tavai and Marte Mapu who play in packages. Tavai actually started a bunch last year.

Anyway, who is questionable?

Looked it up. EDGE/LB Landry is a pass rusher. I’ve never heard of the other LB guy. DT Barmore missed practice for personal reasons. I cannot tell you offhanded how much DT Tonga plays nor his role. Think Williams and Barmore are the main guys. They are and Tonga plays about t-3rd most DT snaps (like 35%). It doesn’t sound like either guy is an enormous deal except Landry for pass rusher.

Patriots’ Elite Run Defense Off To Historically Good Start
Patriots Communications
@PatriotsComms
The @Patriots are the only team in the @NFL this season to not have allowed a 50-yard rushing game from a running back through the first five games.
This is the first time New England has done this in its history.
The first 5 games? The team has played 7 games

The bye comes at a good time hope the injury isn't too severe. The Browns offense sucks outside of him at every spot on the field which is going to hold him back when they are against a great offense or a good defense.

Browns remaining schedule:
  • BYE
  • Jets
  • Ravens
  • Raiders
  • 49ers
  • Titans
  • Bears
  • Bills
  • Steelers
  • Bengals
A good mix of bad D's and bad teams overall. I hope he bounces back from his shoulder injury ASAP.

I can't catch a break this year. Add him to the long list of injuries for my fantasy team.
I traded away Hall and C. Brown to replenish my decimated WR corps. Now I might have to rely on KWIII. Sigh. Hope it's not serious.

That's definitely better news than a dislocation or a clavicle break. Also thankful for some update at all after the BTJ situation leading into their bye. We still don't know the nature of his injury a week later.
