I am struggling to understand a ranking this week. Conner vs the Ravens. A very tough defensive front, 6th fewest fantasy points to rbs, they held denver and the bengals in check. Conners usage is all over the place, 30 carries then 8 then 20... Why is in the top 5 or top 6 for rankings this week? Above DJ, Hunt, Howard, Hyde, etc...

Help me understand why I should start Conner over Hyde?

In my opinion, Pitt vs. Balt is one of those intense rivalry games where all the projections go out the window.  Conner is going to get the workload, these games rarely end up in a shootout, and they're always close so one team never really has to play from behind and abandon the run game.

Hyde is serviceable in his own right, but I'd prefer conner personally just because I feel like this will be a high touch game for him.  And the Browns are a bit of a mystery at the moment with Baker starting.  Will Hyde get the lion's share?  Does Duke Johnson end up with more snaps because of his passing game involvement?  Does Baker come out firing it all over the place the whole game?  It's possible that they pounce on Oakland, but this game has some shootout potential IMO and that would lean in Duke's favor, not Hyde's.

I would play Hyde over Conner.  I think Conner is being inflated a bit by his first game impression lingering.  He really hasn't been good since then.  Last week would have been a bad week but he broke two long runs in clock kill mode (TB couldn't stop him when they new he was getting the ball as opposed to the rest of the game when they kept him in check - just baffling).

I think you are overthinking the carries thing. Its been very consistent. The 8 was in a game the Steelers were down 21-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. That won't happen this week, or probably again this season. No reason he won't see 20 carries against baltimore. I'd start Conner over Hyde, because he's in a better offense that will score more points.

No idea why, but it seems the last couple of years, Ravens AT Steelers has been relatively high scoring, versus the games in Baltimore.  My RBs arent deep, so I have no choice but to start both Connor and Collins. Hopefully that trend continues and theres a lot of offense tomorrow night.

I'm in this boat. Thanks.
