RB, RB, RB ? (1 Viewer)

So every year I say the same thing, I am going three RB's the first three rounds. Every year value comes along to think otherwise during draft time. Anyone do it this year from the 1-3rd picks? I know there are good WR's available but would a lineup of these three be too much to pass up? (12 team league)

1) LT

2) Parker

3) Dunn

I wound up going that way in a 10 team dynasty league last weekend and wound up LT, Westbrook, Maroney. I'm pretty happy with that and still wound up with solid wideouts.

whoa, you read my mind. I was looking into Dunn & Parker (or Taylor) as well. ...maybe even Dunn & Dom Davis. hmm..

it think if you can start 3 RB then rb-rb-rb is a great way to go this year.

i drafted 12th last night and went:

1.12- Caddy

2.01- R.Bush (free league felt like rolling teh dice)

3.12- Droughns

4.01- Driver

With the hype on Dunn, I'd be surprised if he lasted that long. I probably wouldn't grab him earlier, but he might not last until the 3rd.

2 things:1) Would Dunn even still be there at the turn? (possibly, but only if you had the #1 pick - if you had #3, there's no way Dunn lasts until 27!)2) It depends on the scoring and lineups. In a start 3 WR league, there's no way you can go RB-RB-RB -your WRs would be awful if your WR1 is picked up at the end of the 4th. Also in a PPR, WRs are closer in value to RBs Now if it were a "start 3 RB" league, that's different. Maybe with a flex you could consider it.Would have you good RB depth? Yep - but that's all that would be good about that team. No matter how good your top 3 RBs are, if you can only start 2...

In a league that starts 2 RBs, you're putting yourself behind at the other positions. I don't think you can win this way unless you get very lucky in the later rounds.

And what happens if more value RBs slip to the later rounds? You have to either pass on value or roster RBs that you aren't going to use. Unless it's a very active trading league, this is going to get you in trouble.

I am thinking strongly about doing this in a start 2 RB, 2 WR with a Flex (RB/WR) position.

I figure, with all the possible RBBC's, if I can get 3 guys that aren't in RBBC's that are in my starting lineup, then I really put all the other teams behind the 8 ball.

what he said. There are ALWAYS late round RBs that take over starting jobs during the year that are available in rounds 6 thru 10 and beyond.I think a better way to go would be RB WR RB RB - got to get a top WR in there somewhere this year.

12 Team redraft picking 11th, I got...

1. Stephen Jackson (no idea how he fell)

2. Willis McGahee

3. Chester Taylor

Then ended up going Roy Williams in the 4th, Shockey in the 5th, and McNabb in the 6th.

I like my RB's alot, but was reaching for WR's at the end. If I had known Ben Waqtson would go undrafted in the 16 rounds, I wouldn't have grabbed Shockey as high, would have grabbed Lee Evans or Reggie Brown.

I drafted

1.10 Portis

2.01 Jackson

3.10 Bush

and still picked up Droughns later... I was happy... WR is weak

Would you still consider this if it was 1 RB/1wr/3 flex? I am having a hard time figuring out where to rank players in a 3 flex league. I think I'd have to go RB then best available from here on out. Does that sound about right?

In start 2 RB/2WR leagues....my goal is to grab a minimum of 3 starting RB's in the first 5 rounds.

I will select up to 4 RB's depending on the flow of the draft.

Ideally - RB,RB,WR,RB,WR or RB,RB,RB,WR,WR. Someone always takes P.Manning or Gates too early and I'm stuck with RB/WR in the first 5 rounds. If value emerged, I would deviate from my general redraft drafting plan.

I start looking at QB's or TE's in round 6 if I didn't select Manning or Gates (Which I don't predict I will do this year)....but will continue to take WR's if value doesn't surface yet at the TE or QB positions.

Trade Shockey for a WR and pick Watson up.You should pick him up even if you can't immediately trade Shockey.

Not so sure Davis should be in any situation at this point, fill in with different name and you might be on to something.

I went that route last night in a heavily QB favored 10 team league and got the following and still grabbed Brady in the 4th! Needless to say many guppies in that pond!!

1.7 S. Jackson

2.4 Portis

3.7 K. Jones

 2 hurt RBs, 1 crappy one on a lousy team and a QB who has no WRs...interesting.
