Sunk cost fallacy, play your best players.they just paid Hubbard big time RB $ - they committed to him. Rico earned carries but Hubs is still the #1...
Dowdle should have been cheap to acquire for most people. His ROI has been fantastic, and now he’s a quality flex guy.Hubbard got 9 and Dowdle 5 today, how is this good for anyone? Not really. I got Dowdle for cheap. He’s been awesome, and is clearly the better player than Hubbard. Great spot to be in.Total FF nightmare for anyone with Hubbard/Dowdle or both
They play Green Bay next week…this honeymoon is probably overI'm starting Rico next week. Getting ahead of the coaches on this one. Hopefully they catch up by next kickoff.

And Carolinas running game has completely stalled. Not sure why it should matter who makes what money when you're 4-3 and one back averages 6 years a carry and the other 2.5 ypc. It's not like the talent level is in doubt. It's clear as day. Glad they got their butts handed to them.they just paid Hubbard big time RB $ - they committed to him. Imagine him in the Kansas City backfield?rico is on a 1 year deal. at this point just deal him. seems like the panfers prefer hubbard no matter what the eye test says. if that is the case, then they won’t sign him next year, so deal him to one of the 22 teams that have seemingly had their RB die.
imagine anyone. maybe the jets deal hall there. panthers don’t need dowdle if they want to feed hubbard. but panthers and jets are brutal orgs, so……Imagine him in the Kansas City backfield?rico is on a 1 year deal. at this point just deal him. seems like the panfers prefer hubbard no matter what the eye test says. if that is the case, then they won’t sign him next year, so deal him to one of the 22 teams that have seemingly had their RB die.
Yeah, would love to see Dowdle end up as the lead back in KC or Houston. HC Canales on the Chuba Hubbard and Rico Dowdle rotation:"Chuba Hubbard has meant a lot to this team. Wanted to give him an opportunity following his calf injury. We cannot ignore the fact that Rico has been exceptional."
This would have made some sense a few weeks ago but you got to read the room now.I think there is a high probability Dowdle gets traded. His value has never been higher.
NO ONE is talking about this scenario.
- Recency bias showing upside as RB1
- 1 year contract for CHEAP
- Already turned 27 this year
I think they are starting to realize this should be the Rico show.
I sincerely hope this happens but, I'm not holding my breath.I think they are starting to realize this should be the Rico show.
They gave Hubbard the respect he deserves, but at the end of the day, you do what's best for the team so you can win more games.
I'd expect a shift to Rico. Maybe next week it's more like 2 series Rico, 1 series Hubbard and if Rico continues to outperform the ratio migrates even more in his favor.
Don’t know the exact splits but I don’t think I can read Canales quotes today and not come away 100% convinced that Rico is now the primary RB.I sincerely hope this happens but, I'm not holding my breath.I think they are starting to realize this should be the Rico show.

To me it’s a matter of how long, what happens if/when Chubba performs at least on par before it moves back to a more even split or in Chuba’s favor?
So I feel confident thinking Rico is the primary RB in week 9, but am taking this week to week.
All that and also this, and I guess it's open to interpretation, but I took his "yet" to mean it's what he intends to do and has not "yet" got around to it, not something he's "yet" to decide to think about.Don’t know the exact splits but I don’t think I can read Canales quotes today and not come away 100% convinced that Rico is now the primary RB.I sincerely hope this happens but, I'm not holding my breath.I think they are starting to realize this should be the Rico show.

ESPN front page NFL: Panthers likely to ditch RB shuffle, go with Dowdle
Chuba referred to past tense and we all know their best chance to win is with Rico not Chuba.
"Chuba has meant a lot to his organization, certainly to the identity that we wanted to build our team on, and we wanted to give Chuba the opportunity to go out and continue to impact our team in a positive way,'' Canales said as he began preparing for this week's game against the Green Bay Packers (5-1-1). "We cannot ignore that Rico has been exceptional in a couple of games, and then in the opportunities he's had over the last two weeks.
"He's made some excellent plays. Love the tempo and violence that he's running with. And these are all things that we're talking about and working through this week.''
"We have to respect the job that Chuba has done for us to get us to the point where we've established a mentality about how we run," Canales said. "And we cannot ignore the fact that Rico has made an impact when he's been out there."

Panthers RB Rico Dowdle will start and get the bulk of the carries Sunday at Green Bay, per league sources. But I'd expect Chuba Hubbard to be part of the offense, as well.
Dave Canales strongly suggested this would be the case at the start of the week.

So they finally commit to it just prior to one of the toughest rushing matchups possible. Better late than never but what could go wrong here I wonder.
