RB RJ Harvey, DEN (6 Viewers)

With the rumors of Dobbins possibly going to IR, I just traded David Montgomery for Harvey. I swear, if Gibbs gets hurt at some point and I gave away my lottery ticket for a Broncos RB, I'm going to break down and cry.
I really hope Payton doesn't screw around and have a three back mix with Harvey, Badie, and Jaleel.

Have a bad feeling we could be greatly disappointed here.
The split will be between RJ and Badie. I'm guessing 60/40

Jaleel has been on the PS all season and there is nothing he can do that the other two can't do better

Naive of me probably . . . but isn't it JUST the right time in a season for a coach who is frustratingly conservative with rookies to UNLEASH that rookie? Especially in light of an injury to the vet incumbent?

See Mike Vrabel and a certain RB that folks was DROPPING a couple weeks ago.

Harvey is not Sproles or Kamara IMO, and Payton’s offense has changed a *lot. Yet a receiving RB getting even 50% still has a load of potential in a Payton offense, especially at the goalline.

I agree Harvey will get 50-60% of touches while Dobbins is out

Curious what changes you've seen in the offense?

One I've seen is it's much more spread/screen based w/ Mims and Franklin unlike anything that went on in NO

I saw a play (last week?) where Harvey got shifted around at the goalline, LB shifted, defense got confused, & I think a WR or TE got free for the TD. That was very old Payton, moving the defense around.

What’s different to me is as you say the stress on the WRs. He has so much more talent there & that’s by design I’m sure because that’s how they drafted. The screens get out much more quickly & efficiently. I love that stuff. And instead of the old high-low & sluggo routes they’re playing downfield more. Though he does like to use Troutman.

The Broncos just re-signed LJ Humphrey who is an excellent WR blocker. Mims is also back this week. So I would expect to see even more of the same schemes including Harvey in the slot to create mismatches on LBs. They simply can't hang w/ his 4.4 speed

They had to do something after that trending video of Trautman and weak perimeter blocking.

A part of me wants to offer up Harvey to the Dobbins owner for A Jones. Am I crazy?
If someone offered me that I'd need to do a quick news search to make sure Mason or Harvey did not just go down with a major injury, and fwiw I'd still hit accept if Mason went down.
I was about to respond, what the hell does Mason have to do with the price of tea in China? until I read the last part after fwiw.

They really miss Adkins
