RB Rudi Johnson Not Starting - Perry To Start (1 Viewer)

it says that he will play later in the first half but not start. any thoughts on how much work he will get?

Since Ron did a bettter job of nailing this :bag: I took my other thread down.

Way to transcribe, GB.

Rudi won't START - but will PLAY.

Probably just a series or two, but should be on the field later in the first half.

ESPN Game Reporter - Bob Holtzman in Cincy.

My opponent has him! :excited:

That just means he won't be in the opening drive, though, so I can't got too excited.....he will still get the majority of the carries, right??

Thanks for quick react+recover Jeff. I've oops'd like that too. When it's quick no prob, appreciate the effort to try and get it up here ASAP.

I think he still gets a majority of the carries as this is a must win for the Bengals.

Do you like him more than Caddy?

I remember this same exact thing happening either last year or the year before. He was out for the first series if I remember correctly.

Most likely. There is an outside chance that Perry goes off and they keep feeding him.

This happened on opening day last season also. Rudi still got over 80% of the carries. Perry played the opening drive and Rudi was in from there on out.

Plus, with Perry's recent fumblitis, Lewis will be smart to get him out of there as soon as possible.

Rudi owners do not stress (and no, I am not a Rudi owner but I was last season when it happened and there's nothing to worry about).

HTH.

Ugh. I hate starting players in situations like this. The obvious risk is that Perry comes in and runs well in the 1st quarter. If this happens, does Rudi honestly get the majority of the carries if and when he does enter the game? This sets up perfectly for something like 10-12 carries from Rudi.

Ugh. I loathe this.

Perry will most likely be the RB of the future - this could be an easy way of getting him on the field to see if he sparks the offence.

Things are bad in cincy and they need to point the finger at someone

:lmao: @ the other 5 threads about the same thing on the front page.

This is just great. Well I guess I will bench him and play A-Train or MJD after all.

NO, not the thread to discuss just NO

Exactly. Rudi is signed long term and no more then 2 years older or so then Perry. Rudi is the RB of Cincy's future, Perry is there to be a 3rd down back until his rookie contract expires and then return if and only if he is willing to sign a very cap friendly deal to stay. If not, good bye Perry and we'll draft another 3rd down back.HTH.

Missing some PT hurts, no doubt. At least when he does come in, he'll be fresh... perhaps fresher than the opposing D. And there's a chance that he comes in with a motivational chip on his shoulder to work very hard to make an impression after watching someone else start in his place.

So as much as I'd initially like to downgrade my projections about 25%, I'm not convinced that is accurate expectations. I think I might still leave him in over Ahman Green. Not sure.

What are the chances that Perry does really well and they bench Rudi all game? Probably won't happen, but it really makes you think twice before starting him.

In Cincy here.....wow, fantasy speculation can be really off base sometimes.

Let me tell you, there is no way they bench Rudi for Perry. Rudi is the man in Cincy and he is merely being disciplined. This same thing happened last year. Not to mention, Perry's fumbling and just coming off an injury. No way he'd see an entire game's workload (he hasn't since college). Start Rudi with confidence.

This is my opinion. At first sight, I thought that Rudi would just sit out the first drive, but if Perry really sets the offense on fire.... we might see him in for a lot longer, and if they are winning, I see no reason Lewis, who is fighting for control of that football team, would put Rudi back in.I sure like comma splices.

Well, starting him over A. Green. For now. Which basically means all of us Rudi owners are screwed. You're welcome!

Jaws just "sat him" on Countdown.

Exactly, it's your opinion. Let me tell you, from a first hand Bengals fan who watches every game, I'd bet my first born that, barring injury, there is no way in hell that Perry becomes the starter in Cincy while Rudi is here.

Wonder if Favre would ever miss the first series because he missed a team meeting.

Sorry folks, just some added nonsense to the post.

Back to your regularly scheduled Sunday morning mayhem.

(FF is killing me.)

Apparently Marvin Lewis still doesn't understand that CIN has won the vast majority of games where Rudi has 20+ carries in a game. Why not slap him with a fine instead?

I just picked up perry off the WW if he goes off, he can prob be dealt for something and if not I didn't lose anything.

Perry started the game, but the crowd didn't know. On the first hand-off the crowd was yelling Ruuuuudi.

Jeremi Johnson (the FB) got a TD

Yes, this turned out to get the point across to Johnson quite effectively.

What kind on nonsense is this? Not starting but gets every carry after the starting play? Sheesh.

I think you mean series, not play. Bengals ball, 13:071st-10-Cin38 Rush Chris Perry rush up the middle for 3 yards to the Cin41. Tackled by Donnie Edwards.2nd-7-Cin41 Pass Carson Palmer pass to T.J. Houshmandzadeh for 19 yards to the SD40. Tackled by Terrence Kiel.1st-10-SD40 Rush Chris Perry rush up the middle for 3 yards to the SD37. Tackled by Carlos Polk.2nd-7-SD37 Rush Chris Perry rush to the left for 7 yards to the SD30. Tackled by Drayton Florence.1st-10-SD30 Pass Carson Palmer pass to Reggie Kelly for 27 yards to the SD3. Tackled by Terrence Kiel.1st-3-SD3 Rush Jeremi Johnson rush up the middle for 3 yards for a TOUCHDOWN. Extra Point Made Shayne Graham extra point is good.
