From Rotoworld:

Former Browns RB William Green says he's got his life back together and wants another chance in the NFL.

He says he's quit smoking marijuana and is down to 215 pounds. Green, 28, was never much of player when he was on the league and has been out of it for the past two years. He'll work out at his alma mater Boston College's Pro Day Tuesday. Maybe if he looks good he'll get a shot in someone's camp.

This is a bad year for him to come out.

This was Peter Kings Boy awhile back. I remember reading MMQB and he was just gushing about how great William Green looked; fast, amazing quickness, a great burst and something along the lines of "if I played Fantasy Football i would make sure he was on my team". This was before I really found FBG and you can guess what happened. I hate William Green.

I was surpised to see him get cut in favor of a scrub like Jason Wright. And then no one even bothered to sign him. Gotta think there was something going on behind the scenes there.

First it was Fred Ex and now it's Willie Green. As soon as Aaron Brooks says he's turned his life and his attitude around and he's ready to come back, we'll have a complete backfield.

Is Bam Morris out of jail yet to join him in the backfield?

I just wanted to throw a name out there too.

If this news is true, then good for him. I hope it goes well. The window is just about closed at 28 and playing RB. IF he can impress enough to make a roster and bank that NFL :moneybag: then great. I don't think it's very likely given the talent out there right now however.

Hmm, I just posted a similar post after doing a search on Green which came back with nothing. Hey mods, delete mine!

Thanks

Does anyone's league list Lawrence Phillips? I was hoping to pick him up in case he gets his life together (again).

My thoughts exactly... lesser talents have gotten more chances. Not saying Green is anything special, but he showed some game.

NFL Network's Mike Mayock reports free agent William Green showed up to the Boston College Pro Day in "great shape," but ran a 4.85 forty.

He benched 225 25 times and jumped 42" vertically, but running backs with 4.8+ forty times don't get signed. This could officially end Green's career.
Wow, that's impressive, too bad he ran such a poor 40.
THose numbers dont seem to add up to me. I know he was only like a what 4.55-4.69 guy, but to jump a 42" vert usually doesnt transfer into a 4.8.
