So a few of you have followed my recent full-bore midlife career change entering the writing world (spectacular failure to follow with kids surely eating out of dumpsters by 2017). Crass self-promotion and begging follows in the remainder of this post.
Hostile Takeover - a suspense thriller - was released this fall and has been getting positive reviews (even a few from FBGs, the most meaningful reviews of all - THANKS!).
With Christmas upon us (almost), would you be interested in checking out another book as a possible unique gift for your loved ones? (or even hated ones, I don't really care)
The Three Christmases of William Spencer is a holiday gift book delivering a message of happiness and the true meaning of Christmas...at least that's what the marketing team says.
The book tells the story of three separate Christmases taking place over the course of a man's life (as a child, a parent and a grandparent). It's family-friendly but not a children's book. Targeted more for adults and particularly for those with families and children/grandchildren. Very Chicken Soup for the Soul.
Relatively short. You could take the book to the stall and by the time you finished, your legs would only be mostly asleep.
The book is bound in gold-embossed, red linen hardcover and is about 6"x6" (stocking stuffer!). Many readers have said they keep it with their Christmas decorations and place it on the coffee table or mantel every year.
Three Christmases is available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble for $14.95. Also released on Kindle this year at $1.99 (a cheap way to read it and decide if you want to buy hardcovers for gift purposes).
Also available with discounted pricing for bulk purchasing for clients or coworkers or church members. Local execs at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch have purchased autographed copies in bulk to give to their teams and clients (cue Bill Murray - "so I've got that going for me.")
Anyway, I'll end the commercial here, but just wanted to use our FBG network to introduce the idea. As always, I realize that linking these websites leaves me open to ridicule and public humiliation (all quite well deserved), and please feel free to read the book and eviscerate it on the board here. No such thing as bad publicity, right? (Actually, that kind of publicity is probably quite bad for a book. Forget I mentioned it).
Oh, and if you want a really short writing sample (to see if reading a short book is worth your time), feel free to check out a short story here published a few weeks ago in a special fiction issue of MENSA Magazine.
Merry Christmas, FFA!
